本発明者等は、実施例(および参考例)と比較例にかかる触媒コンバーターを製作し、比較例に対する実施例の圧損およびエミッションに関する実験結果から、中央領域と周辺領域の隔壁の厚み比に応じたセル密度比を特定する実験をおこなった。
Claims (1)
- 排ガスが流通するセル構造の隔壁を有し、隔壁の表面に触媒層が形成されているハニカム構造の基材を備えた触媒コンバーターであって、
前記基材は、該基材の排ガスの流れ方向である長手方向に直交する断面において、セル密度が相対的に高い中央領域とセル密度が相対的に低い周辺領域を有し、
前記中央領域の隔壁の厚みがtaでセル密度がMaであり、前記周辺領域の隔壁の厚みがtbでセル密度がMbであり、
ta<tbであり、
0.6≦ta/tb<0.8のとき、1≦Ma/Mb≦1.26であり、
0.4≦ta/tb<0.6のとき、1≦Ma/Mb≦1.37である、
触媒コンバーター。
