Description

- 第1面及び第2面を含む第1基体と、
第3面及び第4面を含む第2基体であって、前記第1基体及び当該第2基体が空洞を形成する、第2基体と、
前記空洞内に含まれるエレクトロクロミック媒体と、
を含むエレクトロクロミック素子と、
前記第4面の方へ向けられ、前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して物体の画像データを捕捉するよう構成されている画像センサと、
前記第4面の方へ向けられ、前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して放射を伝送するよう構成されている光源と、
前記第4面に近接して配置された表示装置と、

前記放射は、近赤外(NIR)域の光を有しており、
前記画像センサは、前記放射を含む前記画像データを捕捉して、当該画像データ内の被写体を識別するよう構成されており、

ことを特徴とする請求項1記載のスキャン装置。 - 前記コントローラは、車両制御モジュールに許可信号を通信して、前記被写体の同一性に基づいて1つまたは複数の車両の機能を制御するようさらに構成されており、
前記被写体は、自動車両の乗客に対応する
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のスキャン装置。 - 車両の乗客を識別する方法であって、
スキャン装置から近赤外スペクトルの検出光を発する工程と、
エレクトロクロミック素子を介して外側へ前記検出光を伝送する工程と、
前記スキャン装置に近接する被写体からの反射光を受け取る工程と、
前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して前記反射光を伝送する工程と、
画像データの形態で、前記反射光を捕捉する工程と、
前記画像データを表す表示光を発すると共に前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して可視波長域に亘って当該表示光を伝送する工程と、
前記画像データを処理して、前記被写体の識別情報を生成する工程と、
を備えたことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記識別情報に基づいて、前記被写体の同一性を認証する工程
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。 - 車両制御モジュールへ前記同一性を通信する工程
を更に備え、
前記車両制御モジュールは、前記同一性に応答して車両の運転を制御するよう構成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項8または9に記載の方法。 - 前記エレクトロクロミック素子を有するミラー素子の反射率を制御する工程
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。 - 前記エレクトロクロミック素子に送達される電位を制御して、それにより、前記ミラー素子の前記反射率を制御する工程
を更に備えたことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。 - 第1面及び第2面を含む第1基体と、
第3面及び第4面を含む第2基体であって、前記第1基体及び当該第2基体が空洞を形成する、第2基体と、
前記空洞内に含まれるエレクトロクロミック媒体と、
を含むエレクトロクロミック素子と、
前記第4面の方へ向けられ、前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して物体の画像データを捕捉するよう構成されている画像センサと、
前記第4面に近接して配置され、可視光を発すると共に前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して可視波長域に亘って前記可視光を伝送するよう構成されている表示装置と、
を備え、
前記エレクトロクロミック素子は、近赤外光の放射を伝送するように構成されており、
前記画像センサは、前記画像データを捕捉して、少なくとも1人の前記車両の乗客を識別するよう構成されている
ことを特徴とする車両の乗客識別システム。 - 前記光源は、前記画像センサの第1側に配置される第1放射体及び前記画像センサの第2側に配置される第2放射体を有する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の乗客識別システム。 - 前記近赤外光は、約800nm〜940nmの波長を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項13または14に記載の乗客識別システム。 - 前記第1面から出力される前記画像データは、可視波長域で伝送される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のスキャン装置。 - 前記エレクトロクロミック素子を介して伝送される前記表示光は、前記被写体の一部を表している
ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
