Description
本発明において使用することが考えられるヒドロカルビルジオールは、ビシナルヒドロキシルを有するヒドロカルビルジオールである。それらは、式:R−(OH)2を有し、式中、Rは、それらの混合物を含む、10〜30個の炭素原子を含有するヒドロカルビル基である。Rは、直鎖状又は分岐状、飽和又は不飽和であってもよい。特に、Rは、アルケン基が2つ以下の不飽和結合、単一の不飽和結合を有する、直鎖アルキル又はアルケン基である。2つのヒドロキシル基は、好ましくは、ヒドロカルビル鎖の末端近くにあり、隣接する炭素原子上にある(ビシナル)。
3以下の金属比を有する少なくとも第1の過塩基性ヒドロカルビル置換ヒドロキシ安息香酸金属塩を含む清浄剤混合物。また、清浄剤混合物中には、3.5以上の金属比を有する、第1の清浄剤とは異なる第2の金属清浄剤が含まれる。第2の清浄剤は、過塩基性ヒドロカルビル置換ヒドロキシ安息香酸金属塩又は過塩基性アルキルアリールスルホン酸金属塩のいずれかである。
式中、Raは、直鎖状脂肪族基、分枝状脂肪族基又は直鎖状脂肪族基と分枝状脂肪族基の混合物である。ベンゼン環に結合しているRa基は1つより多く存在してもよいが、ジアルキルへの結合は5%未満であり、性能を変化させることは期待されていない。好ましくは、Raはアルキル基又はアルケニル基である。より好ましくは、Raは、9〜40個の炭素原子を有する直鎖又は分枝鎖アルキル基である。Raが直鎖状脂肪族基である場合、直鎖状アルキル基は、典型的には、約12〜40個の炭素原子、より好ましくは約14〜30個の炭素原子を含む。Raが分枝状脂肪族基である場合、分枝状アルキル基は、典型的には、少なくとも9個の炭素原子、好ましくは約9〜24個の炭素原子、最も好ましくは約10〜18個の炭素原子を含む。このような分枝状脂肪族基は、好ましくはプロピレン又はブテンのオリゴマーから誘導される。
本発明はまた、ヒドロカルビルジオール及び本発明の過塩基性アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族カルボキシレート清浄剤混合物を含有する潤滑油組成物に関する。このような潤滑油組成物は、主要量の潤滑粘度の基油及び少量のヒドロカルビルジオール、並びに本発明の過塩基性アルキル化ヒドロキシ芳香族カルボキシレート清浄剤混合物を含む。
以下の添加剤成分は、本発明の潤滑添加剤と組み合わせて好ましく用いることができる成分の例である。添加剤のこれらの例は、本発明を説明するために提供されるものであり、本発明を限定しようとするものではない。
本発明の組成物において用いられる分散剤は、アルケニルコハク酸イミド、アルケニルコハク酸無水物、アルケニルコハク酸エステルなど、又はこのような分散剤の混合物などの無灰分散剤であり得る。
本発明の潤滑油組成物は、ヒドロカルビルジオール及び本発明の過塩基性清浄剤混合物と潤滑粘度の油(基油)を単にブレンド又は混合することによって便利に調製することができる。本発明の化合物はまた、所望の濃度の添加剤を含有する潤滑組成物をブレンドすることを容易にするために、適切な比率で、他の各種添加剤とともに濃縮物又はパッケージとして予備ブレンドすることもできる。本発明の化合物は、それらが燃費の向上をもたらし、共に所望の完成潤滑油において油に可溶であり、且つ他の添加剤と相溶性である濃度で基油とブレンドされる。この場合の相溶性は、一般に、本化合物が、適用可能な処理率において油溶性であるだけでなく、通常の条件下で他の添加剤を沈殿させないことを意味する。潤滑油処方物の所与の化合物の適切な油溶性/相溶性の範囲は、ルーチンの溶解度試験手順を用いて、当業者によって決定することができる。例えば、周囲条件(約20℃〜25℃)における処方された潤滑油組成物からの沈殿は、不溶性ワックス粒子の形成を明白に示す、油組成物からの実際の沈殿又は「濁った」溶液の処方物のいずれかによって測定することができる。
潤滑油組成物は、表1及び2に記載の処方物を得るために、基油に下記の添加剤成分を添加することによって調製した。例1〜4のための潤滑油組成物は本発明によるが、比較例A〜Dは比較として提供され、本発明のものではない。例1〜3及び比較例A〜Cは、SAE粘度グレード0W−20(SAE J300、2009年1月版で定義された)を目標にして処方した。それらは、100℃において7.7〜7.8mm2/sの動粘度を有する。例4及び比較例Dは、SAE粘度グレード0W−4を目標にして処方した。それらは、100℃において3.1mm2/sの動粘度を有する。
a)例1〜3及び比較例A〜C: 減圧蒸留、異性化脱ろう及び水素化仕上げを経て調製された鉱物基油(100℃において4.2mm2/sの動粘度、130の粘度指数)

例1〜3の潤滑油組成物の摩擦性能を高周波往復リグ(HFRR)を使用して評価し、比較例A〜Cの潤滑油組成物の摩擦性能と比較した。
モーター摩擦トルク試験を、例4及び比較例Dの境界潤滑条件下での摩擦性能を評価するために使用した。
本発明に包含され得る諸態様は、以下のとおりである。

c.アルカリ土類金属含有量に基づいて約0.01〜0.4質量%の量の、3.0未満の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキル(C 14 〜C 18 )ヒドロキシ安息香酸アルカリ土類金属塩清浄剤、
d.カルシウム含有量に基づいて0.01〜0.4質量%の量の、3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキル(C 20 〜C 28 )スルホン酸カルシウム又は過塩基性アルキル(C 20 〜C 28 )ヒドロキシ安息香酸カルシウム、
e.窒素含有量換算で約0.01〜0.3質量%の窒素含有分散剤、
f.リン含有量換算で0.01〜0.1%の量のジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛、
g.フェノール系酸化防止剤又はジフェニルアミン系酸化防止剤からなる群から選択される、0.1〜7質量%の量の酸化抑制剤
を含み、質量%は潤滑油組成物の総量に基づくものである、内燃機関用潤滑油組成物。
Claims (15)
- a.主要量の潤滑粘度の基油、
b.C10〜C30アルカン1,2−ジオール及びC10〜C30アルケン1,2−ジオールからなる群から選択される摩擦緩和剤、
c.3.0未満の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルヒドロキシ安息香酸アルカリ土類金属塩清浄剤、並びに
d.3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルスルホン酸カルシウム又は過塩基性アルキルヒドロキシ安息香酸カルシウム
を含む潤滑油組成物。 - 摩擦緩和剤が、式R1−CH(OH)CH2(OH)から選択され、式中、R1は8〜28個の炭素原子を含有するアルキルである、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 摩擦緩和剤が、14〜18個の炭素原子を含有する直鎖状アルキルから誘導されるC10〜C30アルカン1,2−ジオールである、請求項2に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 摩擦緩和剤が、潤滑油組成物の全重量に対して0.02〜5.0重量%の量である、請求項3に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 3.0未満の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルヒドロキシ安息香酸アルカリ土類金属塩清浄剤が、14〜18個の炭素原子のアルキル鎖長を有する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルスルホン酸カルシウム又は過塩基性アルキルヒドロキシ安息香酸カルシウムが、20〜28個の炭素原子のアルキル鎖長を有する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 20〜28個の炭素原子のアルキル鎖長を有し、3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルスルホン酸カルシウムが選択される、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 20〜28個の炭素原子のアルキル鎖長を有し、3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキルヒドロキシ安息香酸カルシウムが選択される、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑粘度の基油が110よりも大きい粘度指数を有する、請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑油の基油が、ASTM D4683によって測定される150℃において2.9mPa・s未満のHTHS粘度を有する、請求項9に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- SAE粘度グレード0W20を満たすように処方される、請求項10に記載の潤滑油組成物。

d.カルシウム含有量に基づいて0.01〜0.4質量%の量の、3.5以上の金属比を有する過塩基性アルキル(C20〜C28)スルホン酸カルシウム又は過塩基性アルキル(C20〜C28)ヒドロキシ安息香酸カルシウム、
e.窒素含有量換算で0.01〜0.3質量%の窒素含有分散剤、
f.リン含有量換算で0.01〜0.1%の量のジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛、
g.フェノール系酸化防止剤又はジフェニルアミン系酸化防止剤からなる群から選択される、0.1〜7質量%の量の酸化抑制剤
を含み、質量%は潤滑油組成物の総量に基づくものである、内燃機関用潤滑油組成物。
