Claims (4)
- 光電気混載基板に設けた光送信機または光送受信機の送信部であって、
複数のチャンネルでレーザ光を出射する半導体レーザと、前記半導体レーザにそれぞれ光学的に結合され、前記チャンネルごとに前記レーザ光を入力光として伝搬する光導波路と、前記入力光を変調して光信号を生成する光変調器と、前記光変調器にそれぞれ結合され、該光変調器から伝搬された前記光信号を外部に出力する光信号出力部と、前記光導波路にそれぞれ結合され、前記レーザ光を2以上の入力光に分岐する光分岐部であって、前記変調器が各前記光分岐部に設けられた2以上の光出力端子にそれぞれ結合される光分岐部と、を備え、
前記半導体レーザが、前記光電気混載基板の平面において、前記光信号出力部を挟んで前記光変調器とは反対側に配置され、
前記光信号出力部が、各前記伝搬された光信号を回折させるグレーティング・カプラを備え、
前記光分岐部が、それぞれ複数の2分岐型光カプラまたは3分岐光カプラを多段配置して、前記レーザ光を任意の個数の入力光に分岐するように構成したこと特徴とする、光送信機または光送受信機の送信部。 - 請求項1に記載の光送信機または光送受信機の送信部において、前記光信号出力部が、更に、前記グレーティング・カプラに光学的に結合され、且つ、前記光電気混載基板の平面に対して所望の角度で立設されて、前記光信号を外部出力させる光ピンを備えるように構成されること特徴とする、光送信機または光送受信機の送信部。
- 請求項1または2に記載の光送信機または光送受信機の送信部において、
前記半導体レーザがm個(mは1以上の整数)のチャンネルからなり、前記光導波路が第1〜mの光導波路からなり、前記光分岐部が第1〜mの光分岐部からなり、
前記第1〜mの光分岐部が、それぞれ前記レーザ光を任意のn個(nは2以上の整数)の入力光に分岐し、前記光出力端子を通じて第1〜nの光変調器に結合され、
第kの光導波路(kは1以上で且つm以下の任意の整数)が、第(k−1)の光分岐部に結合される第nの光変調器と第kの光分岐部に結合される第1の光変調器との間、または、第kの光分岐部に結合される第nの光変調器と第(k+1)の光分岐部に結合される第1の光変調器との間のいずれか一方を通って第kの光分岐部に結合され、複数の前記光導波路における各配線長が等しくなるように設けたことを特徴とする、光送信機または光送受信機の送信部。 - 請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の光送信機または光送受信機の送信部であって、
前記光導波路が、それぞれ曲がり部を含む曲げ導波路として配設され、各前記光導波路が、前記半導体レーザから対応する前記光信号出力部への直線方向と直交する方向に前記半導体レーザから延びると共に、前記半導体レーザから所与の距離で前記曲がり部により前記光信号出力部直線方向に90度屈曲されることを特徴とする、光送信機または光送受信機の送信部。
