Description
図1は、本実施形態に係る画像形成装置の一例としての液滴吐出型記録装置10の主要構成部を示した概略構成図である。
図2(A)に示される如く、画像形成部12に適用されるヘッド24は、複数の液滴吐出部材30がヘッド長手方向に沿って配置されている。なお、ヘッド長手方向は、用紙Pの搬送方向(図2(A)の矢印A方向)と交差する方向であり主走査方向という場合がある。また、用紙Pの搬送方向(図2(A)の矢印A方向)は副走査方向という場合がある。
生成したTf1とTf2を一組(1セット)として繰り返す。
図9は、液滴吐出の駆動波形の変形例として連射駆動する駆動波形を用い、例えば、「大滴」と「小滴」を着弾させるものである。

Claims (6)
- 要求される液滴吐出周期で液滴を吐出させる液滴吐出制御手段と、
前記液滴吐出周期の2周期以上の連続する周期を一組とし、液滴速度の適正値に対する誤差に基づいて、前記一組の範囲内でそれぞれ異なる液滴吐出周期で液滴が吐出され、かつ吐出したときの前記一組の範囲の液滴吐出周期の平均値が前記要求される液滴吐出周期となるように、前記液滴吐出制御手段の制御を調整する調整手段と、を有し、
前記液滴速度の誤差は、前記液滴速度の適正値を中心として前記液滴吐出周期が短ければ短いほど大きい振幅であり、かつ特定の周波数を維持しながら収束する残留振動特性に起因するものであり、
前記調整手段は、要求される液滴吐出周期での前記液滴速度に、予め定めた誤差以上が存在するときに実行される、
液滴駆動制御装置。 - 前記調整手段が、前記一組の範囲の各周期で前記液滴速度の設定値に近づくように、前記一組の範囲の液滴吐出時期を相互に相殺する値で増減する請求項1記載の液滴駆動制御装置。
- 前記調整手段が、
前記一組の範囲の周期が相対的に前後の関係となる第1の周期と第2の周期の2周期であり、基準となる前記液滴吐出周期をTf0、前記第1の周期をTf1、前記第2の周期をTf2、前記残留振動特性の周期をTcとした場合、Tf1=Tf0−(Tc/4)、Tf2=Tf0+(Tc/4)の時期をそれぞれ液滴吐出時期とする請求項1又は請求項2記載の液滴駆動制御装置。 - 前記調整手段による液滴吐出周期の調整後の液滴速度を補正する補正手段をさらに有する請求項1〜請求項3の何れか1項記載の液滴駆動制御装置。
- 前記補正手段が、圧力室に貯留された液滴を予め定めた駆動波形による圧力制御でノズルから吐出させるときの当該駆動波形の変形であり、
液滴吐出時期が早まる場合は圧力を低くする駆動波形に変形し、液滴吐出時期が遅くなる場合は圧力を高くする駆動波形に変形する請求項4記載の液滴駆動制御装置。 - 請求項1〜請求項5の何れか1項記載の液滴駆動制御装置を備え、
液滴吐出周期を、少なくとも液滴速度が変動しない設定範囲で画像形成する通常仕様モードと、前記設定範囲を超えた特定の周期で画像形成する特別仕様モードの何れかを選択可能な画像形成装置。
