Description
ポリオレフィン組成物を使用して調製される基材は、様々な塗装システム(プライマー、ベースコート、塗料層、トップコート/クリアコート)で使用することができる。プライマーベースの塗装システムを使用するとき、オレフィンブロックコポリマー(OBC)およびポリプロピレンを使用して調製された基材は、優れた塗料密着性と摩耗抵抗性との両方をもたらす。例えば、完了した表面コーティング(例えば、塗装物品の最外側)は優れた塗料密着性(すなわち、ISO 2409に準拠したスコア0、0が最高で5が最低の評価)および接着性の層間はく離(すなわち、10サイクルのイレーザー摩耗試験を合格することができる)を有する。
「組成」、「配合」等の用語は、2つ以上の成分の混合またはブレンドを意味する。実施形態では、材料の混合またはブレンドは、少なくともオレフィンブロックコポリマーおよびポリプロピレンポリマーならびに一つ以上の充填剤または添加剤を含む。
プロピレンはホモポリマーポリプロピレン(hPP)、インパクトコポリマーポリプロピレン(ICP)、およびランダムコポリマーポリプロピレン(RCPP)の少なくとも一つを含む。ポリプロピレンは0.89g/cm3〜0.92g/cm3(例えば、0.900g/cm3〜0.915g/cm3、0.90g/cm3〜0.91g/cm3、0.895g/cm3〜0.910g/cm3等)の密度を有する。ポリプロピレンポリマーは0.1g/10分〜120g/10分(例えば、1g/10分〜50g/10分、2g/10分〜30g/10分等)のMFRを有することができる。例示的なポリプロピレンとして、Braskem, LyondellBasell, LG ChemまたはTotal Petrochemicalsから入手可能なホモポリマーポリプロピレン、インパクトコポリマーポリプロピレン、およびランダムコポリマーポリプロピレンが挙げられる。
「オレフィンブロックコポリマー」、「マルチブロック共重合体」および「セグメント化共重合体」は、2つ以上の化学的に固有の領域またはセグメント(「ブロック」と呼ぶ)を含むポリマーを指し、例えば、直線的に結合し、すなわち垂れ下がっているまたはグラフト化されるというより、ポリマー化されたエチレン官能性に関して端から端で結合される化学的に異なる単位を含むポリマーである。ブロックは組み込まれるコモノマーの量または種類、密度、結晶化の量、当該組成物のポリマーに帰属する結晶子サイズ、立体規則性の種類および程度(アイソタクティックまたはシンジオタクチック)、位置規則性または位置不規則性、分岐の量(長鎖分岐またはハイパー分岐)、均一性、またはその他の化学的もしくは物理的特性が異なる。
(a)約1.7〜約3.5のMw/Mn、少なくとも一つの融点、摂氏のTm、および密度、グラム/立方センチメートルのd、ここでTmおよびdの数値では、以下の関係に対応し、
Tm>−2002.9+4538.5(d)−2422.2(d)2、または
ここで、dは0.850g/cc、または0.860g/cc、または0.866g/cc、または0.87g/cc、または0.880g/cc〜0.89g/cc、または0.91g/cc、または0.925g/ccであり、Tmは113℃、または115℃、または117℃、または118℃〜120℃、または121℃または125℃、および/または
(b)約1.7〜約3.5のMw/Mnであり、融合の熱、J/gのΔH、およびデルタ量、最も高いDSCピークと最も高いCRYSTAFピークとの間の温度差として規定された摂氏のΔTを特徴とし、ΔTおよびΔHの数値は以下の関係を有し、
0超で最大130J/gのΔHについてΔT>−0.1299(ΔH)+62.81、
130J/g超のΔHについてΔT≧48C、
ここで、CRYSTAFピークは累積のポリマーの少なくとも5パーセントを用いて決定され、ポリマーの5パーセント未満であれば、識別可能なCRYSTAFピークを有し、そのときCRYSTAFの温度は30℃であり、または
(c)300パーセントの引張りでパーセントの弾性回復、Re、エチレン/∀−オレフィン共重合体の圧縮成形フィルムで測定された1サイクル、グラム/立方センチメートルの密度、dを有し、ここでReおよびdの数値は、エチレン/α−オレフィン共重合体が実質的に架橋された相を含まないときの以下の関係を満たし、
Re>1481−1629(d)、または
(d)TREFを使用して分画するときに40℃〜130℃で溶出する分子量分画を有し、当該分画は、同じ温度範囲で溶出する比較可能なランダムエチレン共重合体分画より少なくとも5パーセント高いコモノマー分子含有量を有し、ここで当該比較可能なランダムエチレン共重合体は、同じコモノマーを有し、メルトインデックス、密度、およびエチレン/α−オレフィン共重合体の10パーセント以内の(ポリマー全体に基づいた)コモノマー分子含有量を有し、または
(e)25℃の貯蔵弾性率、G’(25℃)、および100℃の貯蔵弾性率、G’(100℃)を有し、ここで、G’(100℃)に対するG’(25℃)の比は、約1:1〜約9:1の範囲にある。
(f)TREFを用いて分画したときに、40℃〜130℃で溶出する分子率であって、当該分画が少なくとも0.5および最大約1のブロックインデックスおよび約1.3超の分子量分布、Mw/Mnを有することを特徴とし、および/または
(g)0超および最大約1.0の平均のブロックインデックス、1.3超の分子量分画Mw/Mn。
基材を形成する組成物は、「追加の添加剤」を含んでいてもよい。例えば、様々な添加剤および充填剤が実施形態の組成物に組み込まれていてもよい。これらの材料として、限定されないが、フタル酸塩ベースの可塑剤以外の可塑剤(例えば、油、ワックス等)、安定制御剤、核化剤、無機充填剤、導電性充填剤、顔料、着色剤、抗酸化剤、掃酸剤、紫外線吸収剤、または安定剤、難燃剤、加工助剤、押出助剤、帯電防止剤、クリング添加剤(例えば、ポリイソブチレン)、抗ブロック添加剤が挙げられる。これらの添加剤および充填剤は、典型的には、通常の使用条件下で最終物品から浸出すると思われる要素を導入する材料、例えば、物を口にいれてしまう小さな子供を対象とする遊具から浸出する可能性のあるフタル酸塩または残存スチレンモノマーを含むと思われる添加剤を含まない。抗酸化剤の例は、ヒンダードフェノール(例えば、IRGANOX(商標)1010)および亜リン酸エステル(例えば、IRGAFOS(商標)168)があり、両商標ともCiba Geigy Corporationから市販されている。
組成物
試験基材を作製するために使用するポリオレフィン熱可塑性ポリオレフィンの原材料および添加剤を以下の表1に列挙する。
(i)ポリプロピレンプライマー:キシレン溶液中の塩素化ポリプロピレン
(ii)PVC塗料希釈剤−T510:シクロヘキサノン、キシレン、および酢酸ブチルの混合物
(iii)PVC塗料−5300シリーズ:ベース樹脂はアクリル酸ポリマー、塩化ビニル−酢酸ビニル共重合体、およびアルキド樹脂のブレンドである。
(i)SBS塗料希釈剤−T593:シクロヘキサノンおよびメチルエチルケトンの混合物
(ii)5900シリーズSBS塗料:SBS(スチレン−ブタジエン−スチレン)ポリマーベースの塗料
(iii)6100シリーズPU塗料:ポリウレタンベースの塗料
(i)PEHAFIXシンナーNo.4(品番:VPCH02008):アセトン、2−ブトキシエタノールおよびヘプタンの混合物
(ii)PEHAFIX無色プライマー(品番:VPCH07250):CPO型プライマー
(iii)PEHACRYL−PM 2C金属製ワニス(品番:VPCH07875):顔料としてカーボンブラックをおそらく含む反応性アクリル型塗料
(iv)PEHAPOL−L硬化剤(品番:P85057):ヘキサメチレン−1,6−ジイソシアン酸ホモポリマー
(1)二軸型押出加工および造粒
Coperion ZSK 18共廻り噛み合い二軸型押出加工機、D=18mm、L/D=48で配合する。押出機は8つの温度管理領域を有し、2穴の2mmのダイ、2m長の冷却浴およびエアナイフを備えている。配合は100/150/180/180/200/200/200/180℃の温度プロファイルセットで行う。送り速度は10kg/時であり、軸のRPMは800であり、トルクは約40%である。
サンプルはペレットから乾式混合し、射出成形機の送りホッパーに直接送る。
額のサンプルはFanuc Roboshot S−2000 I 100BH、額の成形を備えた100トンの射出成形機(大きさ:5cm×5cm×2mm)を使用して成形する。バレル温度特性は50/170/200/200/200/200℃で設定する。成形温度は30℃で、射出速度は30mm/秒である。成形された額は40MPaで20秒間保持され、さらに16秒間冷却される。
4.1.エアスプレーガン:重力送りエアスプレーガン(ANEST IWATA、モデル:W−101−134G)を使用してサンプルの額を塗装する。スプレーガンは、直径1.3mmのノズル、140mL/分の流体出力、205mmのスプレーパターン幅を有し、28.0psiの噴霧圧力を有している。
外部の実験室でプラズマ処理を行うが、詳細な装置の情報および加工のパラメータは入手できなかった。処理対象のサンプルの表面エネルギーの増加はdyne penで確認する。表面エネルギーは30ダイン/cm以下から約40ダイン/cmに増加した。
6.1.摩擦抵抗試験(イレーザー試験):表面コーティングの摩擦抵抗を測定するためにイレーザー試験をデザインする。当該試験は以下の手順で行った。
表面コーティングの試験領域に対して垂直にイレーザー(Blaisdell #536−T Eraser/Sanford Magi Rub 1960 Peel off Eraser)を保持し、7N(1.5lbf)の下方向の力を加える。一方向に適切なテストパス長(〜3cm)に沿ってストロークまたはイレーズする。コーティングの損傷を観察する(または表面に損傷を与えるのに必要なストローク数(最大10個)がいくつあるかを記録する)。
1mm間隔の11個の真っ直ぐで平行な切込みを表面コーティング全体に施すためにクロスハッチスクライブを使用する。第一のセットの切込みに対して垂直な11個の同様の切り口を作る。ひっかいた領域にテープ(3M #810)を貼り、指でこすり、十分な圧接を与える。テープの遊端部をつかみ、表面に対して135°の角度でスムーズかつ素早く剥がし、表面からテープを取り除く。塗料が剥がれた表面を確認する。ISO 2409またはASTM D3359 Method Bに準拠して、塗料密着性をスケールを用いてグレード分けすることができる。以下で検討するサンプルについては、ISO 2409ランク付けシステムを使用する。
実施例に記載の様々なサンプルは、以下に記載の適切な配合組成に従って調整する。
[1] 基材と塗料層との間にプライマー層を含む塗装物品であって、
当該基材は、オレフィンブロックコポリマーおよび0.89g/cm 3 〜0.92g/cm 3 の密度を有するポリプロピレンポリマーを含む基材形成組成物の製品であって、
当該基材は(1)フタル酸塩ベースの可塑剤、(2)ハロゲンを含むポリマー、および(3)スチレンモノマーに由来する浸出性の小さいポリマー単位を含まない、前記塗装物品。
[2] 前記塗装物品の最外側の表面がISO 2409に準拠した接着スコア0および10サイクルのイレーザー摩耗試験を合格する能力によって示される接着性の層間はく離に対する抵抗を有する、[1]に記載の塗装物品。
[3] 前記基材形成組成物が、前記基材形成組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも15重量%の前記ポリプロピレンおよび少なくとも15重量%の前記オレフィンブロックコポリマーを含み、
前記オレフィンブロックコポリマーがエチレンおよびC 3−20 アルファ−オレフィンのコポリマーである、[2]に記載の塗装物品。
[4] 前記基材形成組成物が、前記基材形成組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも19重量%の前記ポリプロピレンおよび81重量%未満の前記オレフィンブロックコポリマーを含み、
前記オレフィンブロックコポリマーが重合化されたエチレン官能性およびC 3−20 アルファ−オレフィン官能性に関して端から端で結合される化学的に異なる単位を含む、[2]に記載の塗装物品。
[5] 前記基材が、フタル酸塩ベースの可塑剤を含まない塗料で、その他の表面処理がなされずに塗装され、前記塗料層が、SEBSおよび/またはSBSに基づく塗料ならびにアクリルまたはアクリル修飾塗料の一つを含む、[1]〜[4]のいずれか1項に記載の塗装物品。
[6] 前記塗装物品が、遊具、履物、家具、スポーツ用品、ガスケット、衣服、ホースまたはチューブ、および民生用電子装置または電化製品の要素の少なくとも一つである、[1]〜[5]のいずれか1項に記載の塗装物品。
実施形態は、前述の特定の実施形態を通して詳細に記載されているが、この詳細な記述は説明を主な目的としている。当業者は、以下の請求項に記載の趣旨および範囲から逸脱することなく多くの変更および修正をすることができる。
Claims (6)
- 基材と塗料層との間にプライマー層を含む塗装物品であって、
当該基材は、エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体および0.89g/cm3〜0.92g/cm3の密度を有するポリプロピレンポリマーを含む基材形成組成物の製品であって、
当該基材は(1)フタル酸塩ベースの可塑剤、(2)ハロゲンを含むポリマー、および(3)スチレンモノマーに由来する浸出性の小さいポリマー単位を含まず、
前記プライマーは塩素化ポリプロピレン(CPP)を含み、
前記エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体はエチレン含量が25〜97重量%である、前記塗装物品。 - 前記塗装物品の最外側の表面がISO 2409に準拠した接着スコア0および10サイクルのイレーザー摩耗試験を合格する能力によって示される接着性の層間はく離に対する抵抗を有する、請求項1に記載の塗装物品。
- 前記基材形成組成物が、前記基材形成組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも15重量%の前記ポリプロピレンおよび少なくとも15重量%の前記エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体を含み、
前記エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体がエチレンおよびC3−20 α−オレフィンのコポリマーである、請求項2に記載の塗装物品。 - 前記基材形成組成物が、前記基材形成組成物の総重量に基づいて、少なくとも19重量%の前記ポリプロピレンおよび81重量%未満の前記エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体を含み、
前記エチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロック共重合体が重合化されたエチレン官能性およびC3−20 α−オレフィン官能性に関して端から端で結合される化学的に異なる単位を含む、請求項2に記載の塗装物品。 - 前記基材が、フタル酸塩ベースの可塑剤を含まない塗料で、その他の表面処理がなされずに塗装され、前記塗料層が、SEBSおよび/またはSBSに基づく塗料ならびにアクリルまたはアクリル修飾塗料の一つを含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の塗装物品。
- 前記塗装物品が、遊具、履物、家具、スポーツ用品、ガスケット、衣服、ホースまたはチューブ、および民生用電子装置または電化製品の要素の少なくとも一つである、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の塗装物品。
