いる。
本願発明者が見出した新規なモリブデン酸化物は乱層構造を有する。以下、種々の態様を包含するこのモリブデン酸化物を、本願明細書では乱層構造物質と呼ぶ。
まず、層状モリブデン酸化物を用意する。層状モリブデン酸化物は、一般式AxMoO2(ただし、Aはアルカリ金属から選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、x≦1)で表される組成を有する。層状モリブデン酸化物は、MoO2で示されるモリブデン酸化物の層とアルカリ金属が配置された層が交互に積層された構造を有する。層状モリブデン酸化物は焼成によって得られる。つまり、上述したように熱力学的平衡ルートを通して形成される。このため、層状モリブデン酸化物において、MoO2で示されるモリブデン酸化物の層は乱層構造をとっていない。
得られた焼成体を塩酸などの酸性水溶液に浸し、一般式AxMoO2で示される層状モリブデン酸化物のAの少なくとも一部をH+またはH3O+で置換する。これにより、MoO2で示される層状モリブデン酸化物(ホスト層)の層間隔が拡大したHxMo2O4・nH2Oが得られる。
次に液体中で分散したMoO2のナノシートを積み重ね、単離する。この時、意図的に、ナノシート間にアルカリ金属イオンや有機分子を挟みこむため、Li+イオン等のアルカリ金属や蓄電デバイスの電解液に含まれる電解質、有機分子等をコロイド液に添加してもよい。なお、「単離」とは、本実施形態の乱層構造物質1を、蓄電デバイスとして利用可能な程度に純度を高めたり、不純物を除去し、また、蓄電デバイスとして使用可能な状態で分離することをいう。この条件を満たす限り、乱層構造物質1は他の不純物を含んでいてもよい。
本発明による蓄電デバイスの実施形態を説明する。本実施形態では、蓄電デバイスとしてコイン型リチウム二次電池を説明する。図2に示すように、リチウム二次電池10は、正極21、負極22、正極21と負極22との間に配置されたセパレータ14および電解質19を備えている。これらの要素は、ガスケット18および封口板15を用いて、ケース11に収納されている。正極21および負極22の一方は、電極活物質として第1の実施形態の乱層構造物質1を含む。第1の本実施形態の乱層構造物質を正極21および負極22のいずれか一方に用いる場合、他方には従来の電極活物質を使用できる。
以下、第1の実施形態の乱層構造物質を作製し、電池を組み立て、特性を測定した例を説明する。
まず、乱層構造物質の出発原料となる層状モリブデン酸化物としてNa0.9Mo2O4を合成した。Mo、MoO2、Na2MoO4を0.85:1:2.55の比で秤量、混合し、混合物を、真空下、750℃で36時間焼成した。その後焼成物を室温まで急冷した。焼成によって得られたNa0.9Mo2O4と未反応のフラックス成分を水洗し、その後、塩酸に浸し、撹拌した。回収した固形成分のX線回折チャートを図3(a)に示す。図3(a)から、MoO2からなる層状酸化物(ホスト層)の層間距離が拡大したHxMo2O4・nH2Oが単相で得られたことを確認した。
合成した乱層構造物質と、導電助剤としての炭素粉末と、結着剤としてのポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)を、80:10:10の重量比になるように秤取して混合し、集電箔であるアルミニウム箔または銅箔の表面にフィルム状に成形した。これを80℃で60min 以上乾燥したものを25mmx15mm の大きさに切り抜き、ニッケルリード線を超音波溶接機で接着したものを電極とした。対向電極として、アルミニウムリード線を接着したリチウム金属を用いた。セパレータを介して電極と対向電極とを対向させ、アルミラミネート容器にセットした。ヘキサフルオロリン酸リチウムのエチレンカーボネート/エチルメチルカーボネート(3:7)溶液(1M)を数滴たらした後、アルミラミネート容器を密閉し、アルミラミネート電池を作製した。これを実施例の電池と呼ぶ。また、従来の二酸化モリブデンを活物質として、同様の構造を有する電池を作製した。これを比較例の電池と呼ぶ。

Claims (16)
- モリブデン酸化物を含む乱層構造物質。
- 前記モリブデン酸化物は、MoO2の組成を有し、複数のナノシートを構成している、請求項1に記載の乱層構造物質。
- 前記乱層構造物質は、前記複数のナノシート間に位置するカチオンまたはアミンを含む請求項2に記載の乱層構造物質。
- 前記カチオンは、アルカリ金属イオンおよびアンモニウムイオンからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも一種を含む請求項3に記載の乱層構造物質。
- 前記カチオンはLi+である請求項4に記載の乱層構造物質。
- 請求項1から5のいずれかに規定される乱層構造物質を含む蓄電デバイス用活物質材料。
- 導電性支持体と、
前記導電性支持体上に設けられており、請求項6によって規定される蓄電デバイス用活物質材料を含む蓄電層と、
を備えた電極。 - 正極と、負極と、電解質とを備え、
前記正極および前記負極から選ばれる少なくとも1つが、活物質として、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の乱層構造物質を含む、蓄電デバイス。 - 一般式AxMoO2(ただし、Aはアルカリ金属から選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、x≦1)で表される層状モリブデン酸化物を用意する工程(a)と、
前記層状モリブデン酸化物から、モリブデン酸化物からなる複数のナノシートを、液体中で得る工程(b)と、
前記複数のナノシートを積み重ね、乱層構造物質を単離する工程(c)と
を包含する、乱層構造物質の製造方法。 - 前記工程(a)は、アルカリ金属およびモリブデンを含む少なくとも2種の原料を混合し、焼成する工程を含む請求項9に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記少なくとも2種の原料は、Mo、MoO2およびNa2MoO4を含む請求項10に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記工程(b)は、前記一般式AxMoO2で表される前記層状モリブデン酸化物のAを他のカチオンに交換することによって、モリブデン酸化物からなる複数のナノシートを得る工程を含む請求項9に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記工程(b)は、前記層状モリブデン酸化物を酸で処理し、次に、4級アンモニウムイオンを含む水溶液と反応させる工程を含む、請求項12に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記工程(c)は、前記工程(b)で得られた前記液体中の前記複数のナノシートを加熱により乾燥させる工程を含む、請求項9に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記工程(c)は、前記工程(b)で得られた前記液体中の前記複数のナノシートを凍結により乾燥させる工程を含む、請求項9に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
- 前記工程(c)は、前記工程(b)で得られた前記液体のpHを調整することによって、前記乱層構造物質を沈殿させる工程を含む、請求項9に記載の乱層構造物質の製造方法。
