図1は、液体電子写真(LEP)プリンタ1の概略図を示している。グラフィックス、テキスト、およびイメージの任意の組み合わせを含むイメージが、LEP印刷装置1へと通信される。LEPは光帯電ユニット2および光撮像シリンダ4を含む。イメージは最初に、光撮像シリンダ4の形態の光導電部材上に形成され、その後印刷基材10へと、この例では中間転写部材(ITM)8を介して転写される。

ニッケル製の基材を、上記実施例1で形成された二成分コーティング組成物で浸漬コーティングした。浸漬コーティングした基材は次いで、125℃で4時間硬化して、表面上に配置されたシリコーンポリウレタン(SIPU)ポリマーコーティングを有する、ニッケル製の基材を形成した。
ガラス充填ポリカーボネート(PC)製の基材を、対照用のフッ素化ポリウレタンコーティング(FPU)で被覆した。
マゼンタのElectroInk登録商標4.5(Hewlett−Packard Company)を、実施例2および3ならびに比較例4のそれぞれのコーティングされた基材上に付着させた。コーティングされた基材の各々は水平に対して30°の角度で配置し、そしてコーティングされた基材上に静電インクを、0.2グラム毎分から1グラム毎分の範囲の流量において1.5分間流した(湿潤サイクル)。コーティングされた基材の各々は次いで、室温において15分間乾燥した(乾燥サイクル)。そして湿潤サイクルと乾燥サイクルをそれぞれ6回ずつ繰り返し、合計で7回の湿潤サイクルと7回の乾燥サイクルを行った。コーティングされた基材上におけるインク被覆率は、コンピュータによる視覚的分析を用いて判定した。コンピュータによる視覚的分析の結果が図3に示されており、そこではコーティングされた基材のそれぞれに蓄積されたインクの量が示されている。図3は、表面上におけるインク蓄積を防止するうえで、上述したシリコーンポリウレタンポリマーコーティングが、対照のフッ素化ポリウレタンポリマーコーティングよりも、格段に有効であることを示している。
Claims (14)
- ベース成分および硬化剤成分を含み、
ベース成分が:
55重量%までのヒドロキシル末端ポリエステルおよび/またはヒドロキシル末端ポリエーテル;
3重量%までのヒドロキシル末端ポリシロキサン;および
芳香族炭化水素、ケトン、エステル、およびこれらの組み合わせから選択された溶媒を含み、ここでヒドロキシル末端ポリエステルおよび/またはヒドロキシル末端ポリエーテルならびにヒドロキシル末端ポリシロキサンが溶媒中に溶解しており、
硬化剤成分が:
80重量%までのポリイソシアネート;および
芳香族炭化水素、ケトン、エステル、およびこれらの組み合わせから選択された溶媒を含み、ここでポリイソシアネートが溶媒中に溶解している、
二成分形コーティングシステム。 - ヒドロキシル末端ポリシロキサンが直鎖のヒドロキシル末端ポリシロキサンである、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ベース成分が0.2から2重量%のヒドロキシル末端ポリシロキサンを含む、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ベース成分が有機金属触媒をさらに含む、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- 有機金属触媒がスズ含有触媒である、請求項4の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ベース成分が55重量%までのヒドロキシル末端ポリエステルを含む、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ベース成分の溶媒および硬化剤成分の溶媒が、ポリウレタングレードの溶媒である、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- 硬化剤成分が水分捕捉剤をさらに含む、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ポリイソシアネートが脂肪族ポリイソシアネートである、請求項1の二成分コーティングシステム。
- ポリイソシアネートがヘキサメチレンジイソシアネートから誘導される、請求項9の二成分コーティングシステム。
- シリコーンポリウレタンポリマーコーティングが配置されてなる基材であって、シリコーンポリウレタンポリマーコーティングが請求項1の二成分コーティングシステムの硬化生成物を含み、基材がプリンタ部品である基材。
- 硬化生成物が、硬化剤成分のイソシアネート官能基の数の、ベース成分のヒドロキシル基の合計数に対する比が0.8から1.5の範囲となるように組み合わせられた、請求項1のベース成分および硬化剤成分の硬化生成物である、請求項11の基材。
- 基材のコーティング方法であって:
請求項1の二成分コーティングシステムのベース成分および硬化剤成分を基材上で接触させることを含む、方法。 - ベース成分および硬化剤成分が、硬化剤成分のイソシアネート官能基の数の、ベース成分のヒドロキシル基の合計数に対する比が0.8から1.5の範囲となるように接触される、請求項13の方法。
