Description
キャニスタからスロットルバルブよりも下流側の吸気通路にパージする蒸発燃料の量を制御するパージ制御弁と、
上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する気筒列方向に延びる吸気管とを備え、
車両前面視又は車両側面視において、上記吸気管の手前側に上記パージ制御弁が配設され、該吸気管を挟んで上記パージ制御弁の反対側に上記燃料系部品が配設されており、
上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する吸気管として、過給機に接続された気筒列方向に延びる主吸気管と、上記過給機をバイパスするように当該主吸気管から分岐して気筒列方向に延びるバイパス吸気管とを備え、
上記バイパス吸気管が上記主吸気管の上側を気筒列方向に延び、
上記パージ制御弁が上記主吸気管内に上記蒸発燃料をパージするように設けられていることを特徴とする。
上記バイパス吸気管は、上記主吸気管の上記蒸発燃料取入口よりも上流側から分岐して上記過給機よりも下流側の上記主吸気管に接続されている。
図2示すように、エンジン1は、前方吸気後方排気エンジンであって、車両前後方向の前側にスロットルバルブ17より下流側の吸気通路15を構成する主吸気管51及びバイパス吸気管52が配設されている。主吸気管51にパージ制御弁45が接続されている。シリンダヘッド7の上には、コモンレール39が配設され、コモンレール39から分岐した各燃料供給管53が図1に示す各気筒の燃料噴射弁11に接続されている。
上述の如く、パージ制御弁45は蒸発燃料用ホースを介さずに主吸気管51に直結されているから、パージ制御弁45の作動によって蒸発燃料が応答性良く吸気通路15に供給されることになる。
車両前突時に、パージ制御弁45にブラケット59から外れて後方へ飛ばされるような力が加わっても、燃料系部品39,53の前側に吸気管51,52がはだかっているため、パージ制御弁45が燃料系部品39,53に衝突し、燃料系部品39,53を損傷する事態が避けられる。特に、バイパス吸気管52がパージ制御弁45からみて上方に突き出た状態に設けられているため、衝突時にパージ制御弁52が斜め上方にはね飛ばされても、バイパス吸気管52に当たることになり、燃料系部品39,53への衝突が避けられる。
上記実施形態は前方吸気後方排気の横置きエンジンに関するが、気筒列方向を車両前後方向とする縦置きエンジンにおいても、車両側突時の燃料系部品の保護の観点から、吸気管、燃料系部品及びパージ制御弁を上記実施形態と同様の配設構造とすることができる。すなわち、車両側面視において、吸気管の手前側にパージ制御弁が配設され、該吸気管を挟んでパージ制御弁の反対側に燃料系部品が配設され、吸気管がパージ制御弁と燃料系部品との間にはだかっている構造である。

Claims (4)
- シリンダヘッド上に設けられた燃料系部品と、
キャニスタからスロットルバルブよりも下流側の吸気通路にパージする蒸発燃料の量を制御するパージ制御弁と、
上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する気筒列方向に延びる吸気管とを備え、
車両前面視又は車両側面視において、上記吸気管の手前側に上記パージ制御弁が配設され、該吸気管を挟んで上記パージ制御弁の反対側に上記燃料系部品が配設されており、
上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する吸気管として、過給機に接続された気筒列方向に延びる主吸気管と、上記過給機をバイパスするように当該主吸気管から分岐して気筒列方向に延びるバイパス吸気管とを備え、
上記バイパス吸気管が上記主吸気管の上側を気筒列方向に延び、
上記パージ制御弁が上記主吸気管内に上記蒸発燃料をパージするように設けられていることを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1において、
上記主吸気管の上記過給機よりも上流側部位に上記パージ制御弁に係る蒸発燃料取入口が開口していて、
上記バイパス吸気管は、上記主吸気管の上記蒸発燃料取入口よりも上流側から分岐して上記過給機よりも下流側の上記主吸気管に接続されていることを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
上記蒸発燃料取入口は上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する吸気管の上部に開口していることを特徴とするエンジン。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一において、
上記パージ制御弁は、弁本体から突出する流出用接続管を備え、該流出用接続管が上記スロットルバルブ下流側の吸気通路を構成する吸気管に直付けされていることを特徴とするエンジン。
