第1の多層フィルム及び第2の多層フィルムにおける任意の層は、2つ以上の成分の混合物であり得る。
本発明のプロセスは、シールされたフィルム構造を生成する。一実施形態において、プロセスは、フィルム構造を生成する。フィルム構造は、第1の多層フィルム及び第2の多層フィルムを含む。各多層フィルムは、バッキング層及びシール層を含む。各シール層は、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含む:
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、

本発明のプロセスは、可撓性容器を生成する。一実施形態において、可撓性容器は、第1の多層フィルム及び第2の多層フィルムを含む。各多層フィルムは、バッキング層及びシール層を含む。シール層は、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含む:
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、
(c)50MPa〜500MPaのせん断貯蔵弾性率(G’)、及び
(d)10MPaを超えるせん断損失弾性率(G”)。
否定する記載がない限り、文脈から暗に、または本技術分野において慣習的に、全ての部及びパーセントは、重量に基づき、全ての試験方法は、本開示の出願日の時点で現行のものである。
ASTM D792に従い密度を測定する。
試料を、185℃で顆粒から圧縮成形し、10±5℃/分の平均冷却速度で凝固させる。成形したシートから長方形の試料を測定のためにカットする。ねじれの動的機械測定を、−100℃から試料の完全な融解温度の付近の温度範囲で、TA Instrumentsによる回転レオメータARESで行う。温度は、120秒のソーク時間で5℃ずつ上昇する。10rad/sの周波数で0.1%の動的振動変形を、長さ30mm、幅12.7mm、及び厚さ2.8mmの長方形の試料に適用する。測定したトルクを用いて、温度の関数として、せん断貯蔵及び損失弾性率G’及びG”を計算する。
示差走査熱量測定(DSC)を用いて、ポリマー(例えば、エチレン系(PE)ポリマー)の融解及び結晶化挙動を測定する。最初に、試料を、約175℃で薄膜フィルムに融解加圧し、その後、室温まで冷却する。約5〜8mgのポリマーフィルム試料を、ダイパンチでカットし、秤量し、DSC皿に設置する。蓋を皿に圧着して、閉雰囲気を確実にする。試料皿を、窒素ガスでパージした、較正されたDSCセルに設置し、その後、PEの場合、約10℃/分の速度で180℃の温度まで加熱する。試料を、3分間この温度で保持する。その後、試料を、10℃/分の速度で−40℃まで冷却して、結晶化トレースを記録し、3分間その温度で等温的に保持する。その後、試料を完全な融解まで10℃/分の速度で再加熱し、結果としての第2の融解トレースを用いて、融解熱及び融解温度を計算する。パーセント結晶化度は、第2の加熱曲線から判定される融解熱(Hm)を、PEの場合、292J/gf(PPの場合、165J/g)の理論熱融解で割り、この量に100を掛けることによって計算する(例えば、%結晶化度=(Hm/292J/g)×100(PEの場合))。
シールは、シールバーを構成インフレーションフィルムの横方向に整列させることによって、幅100mmの試料を用いて行う。幅15mmの3つの試料をシール強度の測定のためにカットする。手順を3回繰り返して、シール強度試験のために合計9つの検体を取得する。シール強度は、DIN 55529に従って測定する。引っ張り速度は、T剥離形状に荷重される長さ50mmアームの場合、100mm/分である。シール強度は、最大の力伸長曲線から判定される。報告される値は、9つの検体のシール強度の平均及び標準偏差である。
本発明の実施例の材料及び比較試料を以下の表1に提供する。
シール層は、インフレーションフィルム押出しによって形成される単層構造または共押出構造であり得る。
1.単層インフレーションフィルムを、45mm(28L/D)の押出機及び150mm直径のダイを有するCovexインフレーションフィルムライン上で調製する。ダイギャップは、LLDPE及びエチレンコポリマーでは1.5mm、LDPEでは1.0mm、及びプロピレンコポリマーでは2.0mmである。50ミクロンゲージのフィルムを、2.5のブローアップ比を用いて22.5kg/hで生成する。融解温度は、220℃である。フィルムを、44ダインの表面張力のためにコロナ処理する。
2.共押出多層インフレーションフィルムを、2台の50mm表面押出機(30L/D)及び65mmコア層押出機(30L/D)ならびに内部気泡冷却が装備されている200mm直径のダイを備えるAlpineライン上で調製する。ダイギャップは、2.5mmである。50ミクロンゲージのフィルムを、三層構造に対して1:3:1の公称厚さ比を用いて、115kg/hの総出力速度で生成する。ブローアップ比は、2.5であり、融解温度は、約230℃である。フィルムを、44ダインの表面張力のためにシーラントの側面でコロナ処理する。
図4〜6は、単層シール層及びPETバッキング層またはBOPPバッキング層を有する多層フィルムに対する超音波シール強度(USS)対シール力曲線を示す。
本発明は、以下の態様を含む。

前記多層フィルムの前記シール層を第2の多層フィルムのシール層と接触させて、シール領域を形成することと、
前記シール領域に超音波エネルギーを供することと、
30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成することと、を含む、前記プロセス。

第1の多層フィルム及び第2の多層フィルムを含むフィルム構造であって、各多層フィルムは、バッキング層及びシール層を含み、各シール層は、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含み、
(a)130J/g未満の融解熱(ΔHm)、
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、

前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、前記フィルム構造。

前記バッキング層は、PET、ポリアミド、BOPP、及び金属箔から成る群から選択される材料である、[4]に記載の前記フィルム構造。

前記USOPは、PBPE、LLDPE、ULDPE、POP、及びそれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される材料である、[4]または[5]のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。

前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、35N/15mm〜50N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、[4]〜[7]のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。

前記第2の多層フィルムは、前記第1の多層フィルム上に重ねられて、共通の周縁部を形成し、前記超音波シールは、前記共通の周縁部に沿って位置する、[4]〜[11]のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。

前記多層フィルムは、各多層フィルムの前記シール層が互いに接触するように配置され、前記第2の多層フィルムは、前記第1の多層フィルム上に重ねられて、共通の周縁部を形成する、[4]に記載の前記フィルム構造と、
2倍ゾーン及び4倍ゾーンであって、前記ゾーンが4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールをそれぞれ形成する、2倍ゾーン及び4倍ゾーンと、を含む、可撓性容器。

Claims (15)
- 超音波ポリマーシールを生成するためのプロセスであって、
バッキング層と、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含むシール層と、を含む多層フィルムを調製することと、
(a)130J/g未満の融解熱(ΔHm)、
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、
(c)50MPa〜500MPaのせん断貯蔵弾性率(G’)、及び
(d)10MPaを超えるせん断損失弾性率(G”)
前記多層フィルムの前記シール層を、
バッキング層と、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含むシール層と、を含む第2の多層フィルムのシール層と接触させて、シール領域を形成することと、
(a)130J/g未満の融解熱(ΔHm)、
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、
(c)50MPa〜500MPaのせん断貯蔵弾性率(G’)、及び
(d)10MPaを超えるせん断損失弾性率(G”)
前記シール領域に超音波エネルギー及び2N/mm〜6N/mmのシール力を供することと、
30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成することと、を含む、前記プロセス。 - 前記シール領域に(i)超音波エネルギー及び(ii)4N/mmのシール力を供することを含む、請求項1に記載の前記プロセス。
- 超音波シール装置のホーンとアンビルとの間に前記シール領域を設置することと、前記シール領域に(i)超音波エネルギー及び(ii)4N/mmのシール力を供することと、を含む、請求項1に記載の前記プロセス。
- 第1の多層フィルム及び第2の多層フィルムを含むフィルム構造であって、各多層フィルムは、連続フィルム層であるバッキング層及びシール層を含み、各シール層は、以下の特性を有する超音波シール可能なオレフィン系ポリマー(USOP)を含み、
(a)130J/g未満の融解熱(ΔHm)、
(b)125℃未満のピーク融解温度(Tm)、
(c)50MPa〜500MPaのせん断貯蔵弾性率(G’)、及び
(d)10MPaを超えるせん断損失弾性率(G”)
前記多層フィルムは、前記第1の多層フィルムの前記シール層が前記第2の多層フィルムの前記シール層と接触するように配置され、
前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、前記フィルム構造。 - 前記バッキング層は、PET、ポリアミド、BOPP、及び金属箔から成る群から選択される材料である、請求項4に記載の前記フィルム構造。
- 前記USOPは、PBPE、LLDPE、ULDPE、POP、及びそれらの組み合わせから成る群から選択される材料である、請求項4または5のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。
- 前記第1の多層フィルム及び前記第2の多層フィルムは、前記第2の多層フィルムを前記第1の多層フィルム上に重ねるように折り畳まれる単一の可撓性シートの成分である、請求項4〜6のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。
- 前記バッキング層は、BOPPを含み、前記シール層は、ULDPE、POP、及びPBPEから成る群から選択されるUSOPを含む単層であり、前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、55N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、請求項4〜7のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。
- 前記バッキング層は、PETであり、前記シール層は、ULDPE、POP、及びPBPEから成る群から選択されるUSOPを含む単層であり、前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、37N/15mm〜55N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、請求項4〜7のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。
- 前記シール層は、表面層、コア層、及び内層を含む共押出構造であり、
前記表面層は、ULDPE、POP、及びPBPEから成る群から選択されるUSOPを含み、
前記シール層は、4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、35N/15mm〜55N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールを形成する、請求項4〜7のいずれかに記載の前記フィルム構造。 - 前記シール層は、表面層、コア層、及び内層を含む共押出構造であり、

ガセットシールである2倍ゾーン及び断面フィンシールである4倍ゾーンであって、前記ゾーンが4N/mmのシール力で超音波シールされると、30N/15mm〜80N/15mmのシール強度を有する超音波シールをそれぞれ形成する、2倍ゾーン及び4倍ゾーンと、を含む、可撓性容器。 - 前記2倍ゾーンは、前記共通の周縁部の少なくとも一部を含む、請求項13に記載の前記可撓性容器。
