Description
本発明は、概して、ヒトの血管系を通って案内するためのカテーテル、特にカテーテル用の遠位先端部を形成する改良方法に関する。

Claims (13)
- カテーテル用テーパ状遠位先端部を形成する方法であって、
マンドレル及び保持ハイポチューブを与え;
該マンドレル及び該ハイポチューブ上に第1外径を有する先端部第1材料を配置し;
該マンドレルの上及び該第1材料の下に第2外径を有する先端部第2材料を配置し、ここで、該第1外径は、該第2外径よりも大きく;
熱収縮材料の収縮管を、該第1材料及び該第2材料の少なくとも接合部の周りに配置し;
該収縮管を加熱し;
該第1材料及び該第2材料を冷却し;そして
該収縮管及びハイポチューブを除去すること
を含む方法。 - 前記第1材料が約50〜60のショアDデュロメータ硬度を有するポリエーテルブロックアミドを含み、前記第2材料が約60〜70のショアDデュロメータ硬度を有するポリエーテルブロックアミドを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1材料が約55のショアDデュロメータ硬度を有し、前記第2材料が約63のショアDデュロメータ硬度を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1材料が前記ハイポチューブの遠位背部に当接する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第2材料が前記ハイポチューブの遠位脚部に当接する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記収縮管を加熱することが、前記収縮管、前記第1材料及び前記第2材料を、該収縮管、該第1材料及び該第2材料の周りに円を形成するように構成された2個の加熱ダイ間に集中させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記収縮管、前記第1材料及び前記第2材料を約250°F〜500°F(121℃〜260℃)の間に加熱する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記収縮管、前記第1材料及び前記第2材料を約0.25〜60秒間にわたって加熱する、請求項7に記載の方法。
- カテーテル用テーパ状遠位先端部を形成する方法であって、
マンドレル及び保持ハイポチューブを与え;
該マンドレル及び該ハイポチューブ上に第1ショアDデュロメータ硬度を有する第1ポリエーテルブロックアミドを配置し;
該マンドレル上及び該第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド下に該第1ショアDデュロメータ硬度よりも大きい第2ショアDデュロメータ硬度を有する第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドを配置し;
熱収縮材料の収縮管を、該第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び該第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドの少なくとも接合部の周りに配置し;
該収縮管、該第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び該第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドを、該収縮管、該第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び該第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドの周りに円を形成するように構成された2個の加熱ダイ間に集中させ;
該第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び該第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドを冷却し;そして
該収縮管及び該ハイポチューブを除去すること
を含む方法。 - 前記第1ポリエーテルブロックアミドが前記ハイポチューブの遠位背部に当接する、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドが前記ハイポチューブの遠位脚部に当接する、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記収縮管、前記第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び前記第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドを約250°F〜500°F(121℃〜260℃)の間に加熱する、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記収縮管、前記第1ポリエーテルブロックアミド及び前記第2ポリエーテルブロックアミドを約0.25〜60秒間にわたって加熱する、請求項12に記載の方法。
