Description
図1に示される実施形態において、近位部12は患者の体外にとどまる。近位部12はハンドル30及び任意選択のプッシャースタイレット20を備える。
図1及び2に示される送達システム10は中間部送達装置14を有している。本発明において、中間部送達装置14は送達システム10の近位部12(図1、2)と遠位部13(図1、2)との中間にある。用語「中間にある」は、中間部送達装置14が2つの極部の間に介在する、挟まっている、存在している又は現れている、又は遠位部13の遠位先端と近位部12の近位先端との間で―必ずしも等距離であるとは限らないが―空間的に中間の位置、状態、又は性質にある本発明の実施形態を説明することが意図されている。さらに、中間部送達装置14は遠位部13及び/又は近位部12の一部に重ねられてもよく、又は部分的に挿入されてもよい。別の実施形態において、中間部送達装置14(以下で説明されるシース50など)の一部及び遠位端部分外部誘導管部材80(以下で考察され、図4、5、6、7を参照)は細長いチューブ状カテーテル又は一体構造のフレクサー(Flexor)(登録商標)シースであってもよい。
ここで本発明における医療装置送達システムの遠位部13の実施形態を参照すると、図4、5、6、及び7は遠位部13が比較的チューブ状の本体であることを示す。脈管、脈管路、内視鏡の作業導管の形態、又は操縦されるべき内視鏡と併せて使用される外部付属導管装置にかんがみて、遠位がテーパされ、丸められ、面取りされ、又は矢尻形であるほぼチューブ状の遠位端が患者にはより許容し易いであろう。さらに、特定の実施形態において、遠位部13の遠位部は軟性で、丸められ、かつ可撓性であることにより、患者にさらなる保護及び配慮を提供し得る。
本発明の実施形態を記載するために使用されるとき、溶融接合47(本発明に従う実施形態を簡潔に記載する目的から、溶融接合47は埋設49を含む)は、溶融する、液化する、軟化する、半融解状態にする、融解する、融着する、又は可鍛性に、柔軟に、しなやかに、成形可能に、延性に、又はさもなければ別の構成部品により貫通可能か、又は他の元素からなる溶融接合材料と融着されるようにするための任意の好適な手段を有している。例えば、溶融接合47は2つの構成部品を界面で共にまとめ合わせることを含み、ここで構成部品界面の一方(又は好ましくは双方)は、少なくとも半溶融、融解、軟化、粘着性の状態にある。別の実施形態において、溶融接合47は、界面で溶融される双方の構成部品を有すると共に、それらは化学的及び物理的に十分に適合可能であり、冷却されると共に融着する。いまだ別の実施形態において、溶融接合47は、外部シース50(又は第1のシース106)及び/又は外部誘導管部材80(又は第2のシース107)に対して外部スリーブ本体144を液化、溶融、又は融着するための任意の好適な手段を有している。
自己拡張型ステント、人工弁装置、及び患者体内に植え込み可能な他の物体を送達するための医療装置などの、医療装置用第1のシース及び第2のシースを製造するとともに接合する方法もまた提供される。例示する目的上、方法の記載には、第1のシースとして外部シース50が使用され、第2のシースとして外部誘導管部材80が使用されるであろう。
Claims (11)
- 医療装置に使用されるシースを接合するための継手アセンブリであって、
間に通路を画定する近位端部分及び遠位端部分を有し、前記遠位端部分が溶融接合材料を含む外層を有している細長い第1のシースと、
間に導管を画定する遠位の第1の端部分及び近位の第2の端部分を有し、前記第2の端部分が溶融接合材料を含む外層を有している第2のシースと、及び、
遠位係合部分及び近位係合部分を有し、前記近位係合部分が溶融接合材料を含むとともに前記第1のシース遠位端部分外層の周りに配置され、前記遠位係合部分が溶融接合材料を含むとともに前記第2のシース第2の端部分外層の周りに配置される外部スリーブ本体、を有し、
前記外部スリーブ本体近位係合部分及び前記第1のシース遠位端部分外層が共に溶融接合され、
前記外部スリーブ本体遠位係合部分及び前記第2のシース第2の端部分外層が共に溶融接合された、継手アセンブリ。 - 前記外部スリーブ本体が、前記外部スリーブ本体遠位係合部分と近位係合部分との中間にあるとともに、前記第2のシース導管と流体連通する第1の導管を画定する、入口及び出口をさらに有する、請求項1に記載の継手。
- 前記外部スリーブ本体遠位係合部分と近位係合部分との中間にある第2の導管をさらに有する、請求項2に記載の継手。
- 前記第2の導管が、前記第1のシース通路及び前記第2のシースの前記第2のシース導管と流体連通している、請求項3に記載の継手。
- 前記溶融接合材料が、ナイロン、ナイロンナチュラルチューブ、ポリエーテルブロックアミド、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン、熱可塑性プラスチック、熱硬化性プラスチック、樹脂、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリエステル、ポリアミド、イオノマー、ポリカーボネート、ポリフェニレンオキサイド、ポリフェニレンサルファイド、アクリル、液晶ポリマー、ポリオレフィン、ポリエチレンアクリレート、ポリフッ化ビニリデン、ポリビニル、ポリ塩化ビニル、及びポリテトラフルオロエチレンからなる群より選択される、請求項1に記載の継手。
- 迅速導入カテーテル送達システムをさらに有し、前記システムが、前記第1のシース近位端部分を機能的に連結するハンドルを有する近位部を有し、前記第1のシースが前記ハンドルから前記外部スリーブ本体近位係合部分まで少なくとも約50.0cm伸張する、請求項1に記載の継手。
- 近位端、中間部、及び遠位嵌合端部分を有する細長い内部圧迫部材をさらに有しており、前記近位端が前記システム近位部内に配置され、前記中間部が前記第1のシース通路内で、前記第2のシース内に摺動可能に収容される内部誘導管部材と機能的に連結される前記遠位嵌合端部分まで伸張する、請求項6に記載の継手。
- 前記内部誘導管部材が、入口を有する第1の端部分及び出口を有する第2の端部分及びそれらの間に画定される誘導管を有し、近位ステント制止要素が前記第1の端部分と第2の端部分との中間に位置するとともに、ステントプラットフォームが前記近位ステント制止要素と前記内部誘導管部材ステント入口との中間にある、請求項7に記載の継手。
- 医療装置用の継手を作製する方法であって、前記方法が、
間に通路を画定する近位端部分及び遠位端部分、及び前記遠位端部分又はその付近に外表面を有する第1のシースを提供するステップと、
遠位の第1の端部分及び近位の第2の端部分、導管を画定する入口及び出口、及び前記第2の端部分又はその付近に外表面を有する第2のシースを提供するステップと、
前記第1のシース遠位端部分及び前記第2のシースの第2の端部分を結着するステップと、
第1のマンドレルを前記第1のシース通路及び前記第2のシース導管内に定置するステップと、
第2のマンドレルを前記第1のシース外表面上及び前記第2のシース導管内に定置するステップと、
溶融接合材料を前記第1のシース遠位端部分及び第2のシースの第2の端部分の周りに配置するステップと、及び、
前記第1及び第2のマンドレル、前記第1のシース遠位端部分、及び前記第2のシースの第2の端部分の周りで前記溶融接合材料を溶融するステップと、
前記溶融接合材料を固体状態に冷却し、近位端部分及び遠位端部分及びそれらの間に画定される少なくとも1本の導管を有する継手を形成するステップであって、前記継手近位端部分及び前記第1のシース外表面が溶融接合により連結されるとともに、前記継手遠位端部分及び前記第2のシース外表面が溶融接合により連結されるステップと、
を有している方法。 - 提供される前記第1のシースが外部シースである、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 提供される前記第2のシースが外部誘導管部材である、請求項9に記載の方法。
