Description
Claims (13)
- エアバッグを展開し、かつ、膨張させる方法であって、
燃焼チャンバを備えるステップと、
前記燃焼チャンバの中に所定量の電気的に操作される発射火薬を備えるステップであり、前記発射火薬は、イオンベースの酸化剤を含み、少なくとも1000psiの自立閾値圧力を有し、点火された発射火薬は前記自立閾値圧力においては消火され得ない、ステップと、
エアバッグを前記燃焼チャンバに対して接続するステップと、
前記電気的に操作される発射火薬に対して電気的入力を適用することによって、前記チャンバの中の前記電気的に操作される発射火薬に点火するステップと、
前記点火された電気的に操作される発射火薬の燃焼割合を変更するために前記電気的に操作される発射火薬に対する前記電気的入力をコントロールするステップであり、前記チャンバの中の圧力は前記自立閾値圧力より小さいレベルであって、前記エアバッグの中の圧力プロフィールおよび前記エアバッグに対して配送される全体圧力インパルスをコントロールする、ステップと、
を含み、
前記発射火薬は、イオン過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤を含んでいる、
方法。 - 本方法は、さらに、
少なくとも一つのヒューマンファクタ入力および少なくとも一つの測定された衝突入力に基づいて、前記エアバッグついて特定の圧力プロフィールを計算するステップと、
前記エアバッグにおいて前記特定の圧力プロフィールを提供するための燃焼割合プロフィールを計算するステップと、
前記発射火薬の燃焼割合を提供するための電気的入力プロフィールとチャンバ圧力プロフィールを計算するステップと、
前記電気的入力プロフィールに応じて、前記電気的入力を変更するステップと、
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記方法は、さらに、
500psiより大きいチャンバ圧力において前記電気的に操作される発射火薬を消火するために、前記電気的入力を中断するステップと、
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記イオン過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤は、前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね50から90質量パーセントの液体の過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤を有し、さらに、
前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね10から30質量パーセントの結合剤と、
前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね5から30質量パーセントの金属ベースの燃料と、
を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記自立閾値圧力は、少なくとも1500psiであり、かつ、前記チャンバの中の圧力が、1000psi以上に達する、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記チャンバの中の圧力は、500psiより大きいピーク圧力に到達し、かつ、前記ピーク圧力の前または後のいずれかにおいて前記チャンバ圧力を調整するために、前記電気的入力が変更される、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記エアバッグにおける前記圧力プロフィールが所望の圧力プロフィールとなるように、前記電気的入力が、変更される、
請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記金属ベースの燃料は、前記液体の過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤と協働して、大気圧においてグラム毎におよそ600から1100ジュールの比エネルギを伴う前記電気的に操作される発射火薬を提供する、
請求項4に記載の方法。 - エアバッグアセンブリであって、
燃焼チャンバと、
前記燃焼チャンバの中の所定量の電気的に操作される発射火薬であり、前記発射火薬は、イオンベースの酸化剤を含み、少なくとも1000psiの自立閾値圧力を有し、点火された発射火薬は前記自立閾値圧力においては消火され得ない、発射火薬と、
前記燃焼チャンバに対して接続されたエアバッグと、
コントローラと、を含み、
前記コントローラは、
前記チャンバの中の前記電気的に操作される発射火薬に点火するために、前記電気的に操作される発射火薬に対して電気的入力を適用し、かつ、前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の燃焼割合を変更する、ように構成されており、前記チャンバの中の圧力は前記自立閾値圧力より小さいレベルであって、前記エアバッグの中の圧力プロフィールおよび前記エアバッグに対して配送される全体圧力インパルスをコントロールし、
前記イオンベースの酸化剤は、イオン過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤を含む、
エアバッグアセンブリ。 - 前記イオン過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤は、前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね50から90質量パーセントの液体の過塩素酸塩ベースの酸化剤を有し、さらに、
前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね10から30質量パーセントの結合剤と、
前記電気的に操作される発射火薬の概ね5から30質量パーセントの金属ベースの燃料と、
を含む、請求項9に記載のエアバッグアセンブリ。 - 前記コントローラは、500psiより大きいチャンバ圧力において前記電気的に操作される発射火薬を消火するために、前記電気的入力を中断して、前記全体圧力インパルスをコントロールする、ように構成されている、
請求項9に記載のエアバッグアセンブリ。 - 前記コントローラは、さらに、
少なくとも一つのヒューマンファクタ入力および少なくとも一つの測定された衝突入力に基づいて、前記エアバッグについて特定の圧力プロフィールを計算し、
前記エアバッグにおいて前記特定の圧力プロフィールを提供するための燃焼割合プロフィールを計算し、
