この建築材料基材上に配置されたバリア層;

上記の物品が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合に、25%平均RHにおいて約1パーム(perm)以下であり、95%平均相対湿度において約15パーム(perm)以上である透湿度を有し;
上記のバリア層の約10%以上が、上記の布の細孔構造内に入り込んでいる物品。
細孔構造を有する不織布を含む建築材料基材;及び
バリア層;
を含み、
上記の物品が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合に、25%平均RHにおいて約1パーム(perm)以下であり、95%平均相対湿度において約15パーム(perm)以上である透湿度を有し;
上記のバリア層の約10%以上が、上記の不織布基材の細孔構造内に入り込んでいる物品。
コーティング組成物を準備すること;
基材を準備すること;
上記の組成物を上記の基材に塗布すること;及び
上記の組成物を乾燥して、それにより上記の基材上にバリア層を形成すること;
を含み、
上記の物品が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合に、25%平均RHにおいて約1パーム(perm)以下であり、95%平均相対湿度において約15パーム(perm)以上である透湿度を有する方法。
水性コーティング組成物を準備すること;
建築材料基材を準備すること;
上記の組成物を上記の建築材料基材に塗布すること;及び
上記の組成物を乾燥して、それにより上記の建築材料基材上にバリア層を形成すること;
を含み、
上記の物品が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合に、25%平均RHにおいて約1パーム(perm)以下であり、95%平均相対湿度において約15パーム(perm)以上である透湿度を有する方法。
試料を調製し、ASTM E96に従って、21℃かつ相対湿度25%RH、45%RH、75%RH及び95%RHで、水蒸気パーミアンス値について試験した。
A−Styron DL−226は、Styronより入手した。これは、低程度のカルボキシル化と−14℃のガラス転移温度を有するスチレン−ブタジエンラテックスである。
B−Styron DL−490は、Styronより入手した。これは、9℃のガラス転移温度を有する、高カルボキシル化スチレンブタジエンラテックスである。
C−PVOH Selvol 9−325はSekisuiから入手した。これは、高分子量を有し、98.4%加水分解である8.5%固体で予め溶解されているPVOHである。
D−PAA Acumer 1510はDowから入手した。これは、25%固体のポリアクリル酸である。
E−カオリン粘土はSigma Aldrichから入手した。
NW−商品名EliteでHanesから入手した不織布基材。
SD−スロットダイコーティング加工
MR−メイヤーロッドコーティング加工
以下の試料は、以下のように調製した。
3つの試料を以下のように調製し、本明細書において記載される方法に従って、硬化前の粘度について測定した。
試料3A:試料3Aは、2成分の合計重量に基づき、95重量%のStyron DL−226と、5重量%のPVOH−325を含んだ。
試料3B:試料3Bは、2成分の合計重量に基づき、94重量%のStyron DL−226と、6重量%のPVOH−325を含んだ。試料は、組成物の合計重量に基づき、33重量%のカオリン充填剤をさらに含んだ。
試料3Cは比較用試料であり、100重量%のDL 226を含んだ。
試料3Dは比較用試料であり、100重量%のSelvol 9−325を含んだ。
Claims (13)
- バリア層へと硬化した際に湿度に応じて水蒸気を選択的に凝結遅延するように適合されたコーティング組成物であって、該組成物が
a.0〜20%の%カルボキシル化を有するスチレンブタジエンラテックスを含む疎水性成分;
b.ポリビニルアルコール及びポリアクリル酸ナトリウムから選択されるポリマーと、カオリン粘土から選択される親水性フィラーとを含む親水性成分;
を含み、
前記コーティング組成物が硬化すると、前記コーティング組成物が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合、及びクラフト紙上に前記組成物をコーティングし硬化して試験した場合に、25%平均RHにおいて1パーム(perm)以下かつ95%平均相対湿度において15パーム(perm)以上である可変な透湿度を提供するのに有効であるコーティング組成物。 - 前記コーティング組成物が硬化すると、前記コーティング組成物が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合、及びクラフト紙上に前記組成物をコーティングし硬化して試験した場合に、45%平均RHにおける2.5パーム(perm)以下の透湿度と、75%平均RHにおける6〜12パーム(perm)の透湿度とを提供するのに有効である請求項1記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記疎水性成分が−30℃〜0℃のガラス転移温度を有する請求項1記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記疎水性成分が、前記疎水性成分及び前記親水性成分の合計乾燥重量に基づき、35〜97重量%の量で存在する請求項1記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記親水性成分の前記ポリマーが、50000以上かつ300000以下の重量平均分子量を有する請求項1記載のコーティング組成物。
- 湿度に応じて水蒸気を選択的に凝結遅延するように適合された物品であって、該物品が
a.建築材料基材;及び
b.該建築材料基材上に配置されたバリア層
を含み、該バリア層が、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物を硬化することによって得られる前記物品。 - 前記物品が、ASTM E96に従って21℃で試験した場合、45%平均RHにおける2.5パーム(perm)以下の透湿度と、75%平均RHにおける6〜12パーム(perm)の透湿度とを有する請求項6記載の物品。
- 前記基材がクラフト紙外装材、スクリム、ポリマーシート、石膏ウォールボード、またはそれらの組合せを含む請求項6記載の物品。
- 前記基材が、ガラスファイバー断熱材に付けられたクラフト紙を含む請求項6記載の物品。
- 前記基材が織物材料または不織材料を含む請求項6記載の物品。
- 前記基材が、スパンボンド布またはポイントボンド布を含む不織材料を含む請求項10記載の物品。
- 前記基材が石膏ボードを含む請求項6記載の物品。
- 前記バリア層が、20gsm以上のコーティング重量を有する請求項6記載の物品。
