Description
この開示は、表示アセンブリをオーバレイへと光学的に接合させてなる表示システムに向けられている。図1に示されているように、表示システム10を、モニタまたはフラットパネル表示装置12へと一体化させることができる。表示システムを、携帯電話機の表示部、モニタ、テレビ受像器、携帯情報端末または他のポータブルコンピュータ装置の表示部、屋外ディスプレイ、産業用ディスプレイ、医療用ディスプレイ、ナビゲーション用ディスプレイ、あるいは他の電子プレゼンテーション、データ、またはグラフィック表示装置へと一体化させることができることを、理解すべきである。したがって、本明細書においては、例示の目的のために、LCDアセンブリを備える表示システムとして説明を行うが、表示システムが、LCD、有機発光ダイオード(OLED)、電子ペーパー(e−ペーパー)表示装置、表面伝導型電子放出表示装置(SED)、発光ダイオード(LED)表示装置、エレクトロルミネセント表示装置(ELD)、など、オーバレイを適用することができる任意の適切な表示アセンブリを備えてよいことを、理解すべきである。
Claims (17)
- 表示システムであって、
・第1のサイズの表示領域を有する第1表示アセンブリと、
・前記第1表示アセンブリの前記表示領域のサイズに対応する第1の実質的に透明な部位を有している連続的なオーバレイと、
・少なくとも1つの追加の層を含むカスタマイズされた部位であり、前記少なくとも1つの追加の層は、不透明なコーティングである部位と、
および
・前記オーバレイと前記第1表示アセンブリとの間に配され、前記第1表示アセンブリを前記オーバレイへと光学的に接合させる光学層と、を備え、
前記オーバレイは、前記第1表示アセンブリにベゼルを使用することなく直接固定され、前記第1表示アセンブリのベゼルは前記光学層内に進入する進入部を有し、当該進入部と前記オーバレイの間に前記光学層が介在し、
前記光学層は、屈折率が前記オーバレイおよび前記第1表示アセンブリの表示領域の外表面の一方、または両方と実質的に同様であるよう、屈折率を整合させた材料を含む、表示システム。 - 前記光学層は、予備形成物を形成するために予備的に硬化されている光学接着剤である請求項1に記載の表示システム。
- 前記第1表示アセンブリが、液晶表示装置、有機発光ダイオード表示装置、および電子ペーパー表示装置のうちの1つである請求項1又は2に記載の表示システム。
- 前記光学層は、固体、ゲルまたは液体の接着剤である請求項1−3のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 前記光学層は、組み合せ接着剤、シリコン主体の接着剤、2液硬化型のシリコン接着剤、ウレタン由来の材料、アクリル由来の材料、ウレタン誘導体およびシリコン誘導体(および/またはアクリル誘導体)の混合物、およびエポキシ誘導体のうちの1つを備える請求項1−4のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- オーバレイへと光学的に接合させる第2表示アセンブリまたはオーバレイへと光学的に接合させるアクセサリを更に備える請求項1−5のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 前記オーバレイは、少なくとも1つの不透明な領域を含む第2のカスタマイズされた部位を有している請求項1−6のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 前記オーバレイは、少なくとも1つの追加の層を含む第2のカスタマイズされた部位を有し、
前記少なくとも1つの追加の層は、反射防止コーティング、防眩用のコーティング、汚れ防止のコーティング、またはEMIフィルタである請求項1−7のいずれかに記載の表示システム。 - 前記光学層が、前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位および前記第1表示アセンブリの前記表示領域の外表面の一方と実質的に同様な屈折率を有している請求項1−8のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 前記オーバレイは、少なくとも2辺において前記第1の実質的に透明な部位を超えて広がっている第2のカスタマイズされた部位を有している請求項1に記載の表示システム。
- 前記オーバレイは、前記第1の実質的に透明な部位から離れて位置する第2の実質的に透明な部位をさらに備えている請求項1−10のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 前記第1表示アセンブリは、前記オーバレイを覆う機械的なベゼルを用いずに、前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位へと光学的に接合される請求項1−11のいずれかに記載の表示システム。
- 表示システムを構成するための方法であって、
・オーバレイの第1の実質的に透明な部位、及び少なくとも1つの不透明な領域を含むオーバレイの第2の部位に、光学接着剤を塗布するステップ、ここで第1表示アセンブリに使用されるベゼルは前記光学接着剤内に進入する進入部を有し、当該進入部と前記オーバレイの間に前記光学接着剤が介在し、
・前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位を前記第1表示アセンブリの視認可能部分に整列させるステップ、
・前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位を前記第1表示アセンブリの前記視認可能部分に整列させるステップに先立って、前記光学接着剤を予備的に硬化させるステップ、および、
・前記予備的に硬化された光学接着剤によって、前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位と前記第1表示アセンブリとを光学的に接合させるステップを含んでいる方法。
- 前記オーバレイの第2の部位へとセンサ、および/または、タッチスイッチを貼り付けるステップを更に含んでいる請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記オーバレイの第2の部位の少なくとも一部分へとコーティングを適用するステップを更に含んでいる請求項13又は14に記載の方法。
- 前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位を前記第1表示アセンブリの視認可能部分に整列させるステップが、前記オーバレイの第2の部位が前記オーバレイの前記第1の実質的に透明な部位の少なくとも1辺を超えて広がるように、前記第1表示アセンブリを位置させるステップを含んでいる請求項13−15のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記予備的に硬化された光学接着剤によって、前記オーバレイの第2の部位と、第2表示アセンブリまたはアクセサリとを光学的に接合させるステップを更に含んでいる請求項13に記載の方法。
