Description
i)親水性の重合可能モノマーを含むモノマー相を用意するステップ;
ii)水性相を含み、さらに水溶性アクリルモノマーを含む連続相を用意するステップ;
iii)モノマー相が、連続相を含むカラムの第二部分へとカラムの第一部分を強制的に通過させられて噴出流を形成するような速度において、カラムの第一部分へモノマー相をフィードするステップ;
iv)噴出流を小滴へと破壊する周波数において噴出流を振動的に励起するステップ;および
v)懸濁物中の小滴を重合させて均一な球形のポリマービーズを形成するステップ
を含む方法を提供することにより当該技術における問題を解決する。
傾斜翼タービン撹拌機、温度プローブ、反応混合物に冷却(クエンチ)水を直接添加するためのポート、および外部熱源を備えた2リットルの実験室用反応器に、脱イオン水中に0.225重量%の50%NaOH溶液、0.174重量%のホウ酸、0.226重量%のゼラチン(豚皮膚からのタイプA、Pharmagel A)、および2.028重量%の20%ポリ(ジアリルジメチルアンモニウムクロライド)(Catfloc C)溶液を含む水溶液を239.4グラム含む水性ヒール(aqueous heel)を充填することにより均一な球形のポリマービーズを製造した。
完全飽和噴出連続相を製造せず、使用しなかったことを除いて、実施例1の操作を、同じ装置および試薬を用いて繰り返した。代わりに未処理の噴出連続相を使用し、連続相はアクリル酸メチルを含んでいなかった。

Claims (7)
- 均一な球形のポリマービーズを製造する方法であって、
i)親水性の重合可能モノマーを含むモノマー相を用意するステップ;
ii)水性相を含み、さらに水溶性アクリルモノマーを含む連続相を用意するステップ;
iii)前記モノマー相が、前記連続相を含むカラムの第二部分へとカラムの第一部分を強制的に通過させられて噴出流を形成するような速度において、カラムの第一部分へモノマー相をフィードするステップ;
iv)前記噴出流を小滴へと破壊する周波数において前記噴出流を振動的に励起するステップ;および
v)懸濁物中の前記小滴を重合させて均一な球形のポリマービーズを形成するステップ
を含む、方法。 - さらに、前記水溶性アクリルモノマーが、25℃において測定された場合に2重量%より高い水溶解度を有するモノエチレン性不飽和モノマーである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記水溶性アクリルモノマーが、25℃において測定された場合に2重量%より高い水溶解度を有するモノエチレン性不飽和アクリルエステルである、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記形成された均一な球形のポリマービーズが0.1未満の変動係数を有する、請求項
1に記載の方法。 - 前記形成された均一な球形のポリマービーズが1.3以下の均等係数を有する、請求項
1に記載の方法。 - 前記均一な球形のポリマービーズを官能化して、イオン交換樹脂を形成することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- カチオン交換基を有し、0.1未満の変動係数を有しおよび50〜2000μmの調和平均粒径を有する球形のアクリルポリマービーズであって、1種以上の水溶性モノマーの重合単位を含む球形のアクリルポリマービーズ。
