Description
本願は米国仮特許出願第61/614912号(2012年3月23日提出)および米国仮特許出願第61/799437号(2013年3月15日提出)の利益を主張し、前記出願の両方は参照をもってその全文が本願内に開示されるものとする。
本発明は一般に、振動のダンピングのための流体組成物、より特定には振動緩衝装置において使用するためのポリマーを含む流体組成物に関する。
振動緩衝装置、例えばマウントおよびブッシュは、車両内で、車両の2つの硬質の部品の間、例えばエンジンとフレームとの間、ステアリング系部品(例えばコントロールアームの間)等を伝搬する振動を低減するために使用される。振動緩衝装置は典型的には、負荷を支え且つ硬質の部品の間で伝えられる振動をダンピングするための少なくとも1つのダンピング手段を含む。ダンピング手段は一般に、柔軟性のある物体、例えばゴム状の物体の形態である。特定の振動緩衝装置は、流体をその中に保持するための空洞を定義するボディを含む。前記流体は、振動をダンピングするために有用であり、且つ一般に自動車分野においてダンピング液と称される。振動緩衝装置は、特に熱い気候においてスティック・スリップ条件に遭遇することがあり、その際、高温がダンピング液を用いた潤滑の損失を引き起こしかねない。
本発明は、流体組成物を提供する。前記流体組成物は、振動緩衝装置のために有用である。1つの実施態様において、流体組成物は、ベースオイル(base stock)およびポリマーを含む。ベースオイルはグリコールを含む。前記ポリマーは、少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンを有する開始剤と、前記開始剤の少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンと反応性のアルキレンオキシドとの反応生成物を含む。前記アルキレンオキシドは、エチレンオキシド、プロピレンオキシド、およびブチレンオキシドの群から選択される。前記流体組成物は、約1ミリメートル未満の四球摩耗試験の傷跡をもたらす。本発明の他の実施態様において、流体組成物はポリマーを含み、且つ、実質的にベースオイルを含まない。本発明は、振動緩衝装置も提供する。振動緩衝装置は、空洞を規定するボディを含む。本発明のポリマーは、ボディの空洞内に備えられる。
本発明は、流体組成物を提供する。前記流体組成物は、以下でさらに記載されるとおり、振動緩衝装置における使用のために有用である。特定の実施態様において、流体組成物(以下で単に「組成物」と称される)は、一般にベースオイルおよびポリマーを含む、本質的にそれらからなる、またはそれらからなる。他の実施態様において、該組成物はポリマーを含み、且つ、ベースオイルを実質的に含まないか、全く含まない。該組成物は様々な実施態様において、以下でさらに記載されるように、1つまたはそれより多くの添加剤も含むことがある。
様々な本発明の組成物および比較用組成物を調製し、且つ試験する。以下の表I、IIおよびIII内で説明される各々の成分の量は、特段記載されない限り、それぞれの組成物100質量部に対する質量パーセント(質量%)である。
Claims (9)
- 振動緩衝装置用の流体組成物であって、
グリコールを含むベースオイル、および
200〜20000の数平均分子量(Mn)を有し且つ
以下:
少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンを有する開始剤と、
前記開始剤の前記少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンと反応性であり且つエチレンオキシド、プロピレンオキシドおよびブチレンオキシドの群から選択されるアルキレンオキシド
との反応生成物を含む液体ポリマー
を含む前記組成物において、1ミリメートル未満の四球摩耗試験の傷をもたらす、前記組成物。 - 40℃で30センチストークス(cSt)以下の動粘度を有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記ベースオイルが、前記組成物100質量部に対して少なくとも50質量パーセント(質量%)の量で存在する、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- 前記ベースオイルがエチレングリコールまたはプロピレングリコールを含むか、または前記ポリマーが前記組成物100質量部に対して5〜25質量%の量で存在し、且つ前記ポリマーが40℃で40〜50センチストークス(cSt)の動粘度を有する、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項に記載の組成物。
- 振動緩衝装置用の流体組成物であって、
グリコールを含むベースオイル: 少なくとも50質量パーセント(質量%)、
200〜20000の数平均分子量(Mn)を有し且つ
以下:
ヒドロキシル官能性開始剤と、
前記ヒドロキシル官能性開始剤と反応性であり、且つエチレンオキシド、プロピレンオキシドおよびブチレンオキシドの群から選択される少なくとも2種の異なるアルキレンオキシド
との反応生成物を含む液体ポリマー: 5〜25質量%、および
脱泡剤、腐食防止剤の群から選択される添加剤、またはそれらの組み合わせ: 0〜5質量%
を含む前記組成物において、各々の質量%は前記組成物100質量部に基づき、且つ1ミリメートル未満の四球摩耗試験の傷をもたらし、且つ、40℃で6〜16センチストークス(cSt)の動粘度を有する、前記組成物。 - 前記グリコールがエチレングリコールを含み、前記ヒドロキシル官能性開始剤がジオールを含み、前記少なくとも2種の異なるアルキレンオキシドがエチレンオキシド(EO)およびプロピレンオキシド(PO)であり、且つ、前記ポリマーが60:40〜75:25のEO:PO比を有する、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 振動緩衝装置用の流体組成物であって、
グリコールを含むベースオイルと、
200〜20000の数平均分子量(Mn)を有し且つ
以下:
少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンを有する開始剤と、
前記開始剤の前記少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンと反応性であり且つエチレンオキシド、プロピレンオキシドおよびブチレンオキシドの群から選択されるアルキレンオキシド
との反応生成物を含む液体ポリマーと
を含む前記組成物において、1ミリメートル未満の四球摩耗試験の傷をもたらし、且つ40℃で30センチストークス(cSt)以下の動粘度を有する、前記組成物。 - 請求項1から7までのいずれか1項に記載の組成物を含有する、車両用の振動緩衝装置。
- 車両用の振動緩衝装置であって、
空洞を定義するボディと、
前記空洞内に備えられた、200〜20000の数平均分子量(Mn)を有する液体ポリマー
とを含み、前記ポリマーが以下:
少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンを有する開始剤と、
前記開始剤の前記少なくとも1つの酸性のプロトンと反応性であり且つエチレンオキシド、プロピレンオキシドおよびブチレンオキシドの群から選択されるアルキレンオキシド
との反応生成物を含み、さらに前記ポリマーと共に前記空洞内にベースオイルが備えられ、前記ベースオイルはグリコールを含み、前記ベースオイルとポリマーとが1ミリメートル未満の四球摩耗試験の傷をもたらす、
前記振動緩衝装置。
