Description
突起している」「下に向けて突起している」等は、いずれも相対的に位置関係を示すものである。例えば、本発明実施例の構造全体が、一つの方向に回転した際、前記相対的な位置関係を示す語句も対応するように変化する。例えば、前記各基板の二つの電極中において、基板に近い電極は共通電極として使用され、基板から遠い電極は画素電極として使用される。しかし、基板に近い電極を画素電極として使用し、基板から遠い電極を共通電極として使用することもできる。また、前記の記載及び図面において、上部基板と下部基板上のストライプ状サブ電極が向かい合うように設けられていることのみ示し、しかし上部基板、下部基板上のストライプ状電極は、ストライプ状サブ電極の配列方向上において交互に設けることもできる。
互いに向かい合う第一基板と第二基板、及び前記第一基板と前記第二基板との間にある液晶層、
前記第一基板の、前記第二基板と向かい合わせの表面上に順次形成されている第一下部電極、第一絶縁層及び第一上部電極、及び、
前記第二基板の、前記第一基板と向かい合わせの表面上に順次形成されている第二下部電極、第二絶縁層及び第二上部電極
を含む。
且つ前記第二上部電極は複数の、互いに平行し且つ互いに間隔を置いているストライプ状第二サブ電極を有することを特徴とする、(1)に記載の液晶表示パネル。
前記第一上部電極と第二上部電極の層厚の範囲は300〜2500Åであり、
前記液晶層の層厚の範囲は5〜20μmであることを特徴とする、(1)〜(12)のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
前記第二基板上に設けられている第二偏光板を含むことを特徴とする、
(1)〜(13)のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。

Claims (9)
- フリンジフィールドスイッチングモードの液晶表示パネルであって、
互いに向かい合う第一基板と第二基板、及び前記第一基板と前記第二基板との間にある液晶層、
前記第一基板の、前記第二基板と向かい合わせの表面上に順次形成されている第一下部電極、第一絶縁層及び第一上部電極、及び、
前記第二基板の、前記第一基板と向かい合わせの表面上に順次形成されている第二下部電極、第二絶縁層及び第二上部電極
を含み、
前記第一基板の前記第二基板と向かい合わせの表面上には複数の、互いに平行し且つ前記第二基板に突起している第一支持部が設けられ、隣接する第一支持部の間は第一凹溝を形成し、且つ、前記第一支持部は前記第一基板と前記第一下部電極との間に設けられていて、
前記第二基板の前記第一基板と向かい合わせの表面上には複数の、互いに平行し且つ前記第一基板に突起している第二支持部が設けられ、隣接する第二支持部の間は第二凹溝を形成し、且つ、前記第二支持部は前記第二基板と前記第二下部電極との間に設けられていて、
前記第二支持部と前記第一凹溝は向かい合うように設けられ、前記第一上部電極は前記第一支持部に対応して設けられ、前記第二上部電極は前記第二凹溝に対応して設けられていることを特徴とする、液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第一上部電極は複数の、互いに平行し且つ互いに間隔を置いているストライプ状の第一サブ電極を有し、
且つ前記第二上部電極は複数の、互いに平行し且つ互いに間隔を置いているストライプ状の第二サブ電極を有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第一基板上の第一サブ電極の延伸方向は前記第二基板上の第二サブ電極の延伸方向と同じであることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第一下部電極と前記第二下部電極は共通電極であり、且つ前記第一上部電極と前記第二上部電極は画素電極であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第一支持部の横断面は四角形、台形、半円形、三角形または半楕円形であり、且つ前記第二支持部の横断面は前記第一支持部の横断面の形状と同じであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第一下部電極、第一絶縁層、第二下部電極及び第二絶縁層はそれぞれ、均一な層厚を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第一絶縁層と第二絶縁層の層厚の範囲は5000〜10000Åであり、
前記第一上部電極と第二上部電極の層厚の範囲は300〜2500Åであり、
前記液晶層の層厚の範囲は5〜20μmであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第一基板上に設けられた第一偏光板、及び
前記第二基板上に設けられた第二偏光板を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記液晶層の材料はブルー相液晶重合体であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の液晶表示パネル。
