Claims (5)
- 車室側部に設けられるサイドドアに隣接して配置される座席シートに着座した乗員の移動を規制するプリテンショナを備えた車両の乗員保護装置であって、
車両の側部に設けられ、車両側面に対する衝突の有無を検出するとともに、少なくとも側面衝突時における前記サイドドアの衝突変形を検出するドアセンサを含む、複数の衝突センサと、
前記座席シートに着座した乗員の腰部位置を検出する乗員位置検出センサと、
各衝突センサの検出結果により前記サイドドアに対するポール側面衝突の発生が検出された場合に、前記ドアセンサが検出した衝突変形からポール衝突位置を検出或いは推定し、前記ポール衝突位置が前記乗員位置検出センサにより検出された前記乗員の腰部位置より前方にあると判断した場合に前記プリテンショナを起動し、前記ポール衝突位置が前記乗員の腰部位置より前方にないと判断した場合には前記プリテンショナの起動を禁止する制御ユニットと、を備えたことを特徴とする車両の乗員保護装置。 - 前記ドアセンサは、前記サイドドア内に配置されて該サイドドアの前端部から後端部へ延びるドアビームの前端及び後端の入力荷重を検出し、
前記制御ユニットは、検出された前記入力荷重をそれぞれ一定時間積分した積分値が判定しきい値を超えた場合に前記ポール衝突位置を推定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両の乗員保護装置。 - 前記ドアセンサは、前記サイドドアの前記衝突変形を検出する外界認識装置であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両の乗員保護装置。
- 前記制御ユニットは、予め設定されたマップ情報と、前記ドアセンサによる一定時間の入力荷重情報とに基づいて前記ポール衝突位置を推定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両の乗員保護装置。
- 前記ドアセンサは、入力荷重センサ及び外界認識装置であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の車両の乗員保護装置。
