R 245 〜R 259 はそれぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、水素、アルキル基、シクロアルキル基、複素環基、アルケニル基、シクロアルケニル基、アルキニル基、アルコキシ基、アルキルチオ基、アリールエーテル基、アリールチオエーテル基、アリール基、ヘテロアリール基、ハロゲン、カルボニル基、カルボキシル基、オキシカルボニル基、カルバモイル基、アミノ基、シリル基および−P(=O)R 260 R 261 からなる群より選ばれる。R 260 およびR 261 はアリール基またはヘテロアリール基である。Bは下記式(13)で表される基であり、下記式(13)におけるR 264 またはR 267 のいずれかの位置と連結する。BもしくはR 249 は、R 254 およびR 257 とは異なる基である。なお、R 249 、R 254 またはR 257 がヘテロアリール基である場合は、ジベンゾフラニル基、ジベンゾチオフェニル基およびカルバゾリル基は除かれる。
R 262 〜R 274 はそれぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、水素、アルキル基、シクロアルキル基、複素環基、アルケニル基、シクロアルケニル基、アルキニル基、アルコキシ基、アルキルチオ基、アリールエーテル基、アリールチオエーテル基、アリール基、ハロゲン、カルボニル基、カルボキシル基、オキシカルボニル基、カルバモイル基、シリル基および−P(=O)R 275 R 276 からなる群より選ばれる。R 275 およびR 276 はアリール基またはヘテロアリール基である。ただし、R 264 またはR 267 のうちいずれか1つは母骨格との連結に用いられる。)
化合物[1]の合成
3−ブロモカルバゾール20.9g、フェニルカルバゾール−3−ボロン酸15.0g、酢酸パラジウム366mg、トリス(2−メチルフェニル)ホスフィン300mg、2M炭酸カリウム水溶液105ml、ジメトキシエタン260mlの混合溶液を窒素気流下、6時間還流した。室温に冷却した後、トルエン500mlで抽出した。有機層を水100mlで2回洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムで乾燥後、エバポレートした。得られた濃縮物をシリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーにより精製し、真空乾燥した後、9−フェニル−9H,9‘H−3,3’−ビカルバゾール13.5gを得た。
1H−NMR(CDCl3(d=ppm)):7.29-7.90 (25H, m),8.16-8.27 (4H, m), 8.45-8.47 (2H, m)。
化合物[9]の合成
フェニルカルバゾール−3−ボロン酸の代わりに9−([1,1’−ビフェニル]−4−イル)−3−(4,4,5,5−テトラメチル−1,3,2−ジオキサボロラン−2−イル)−9H−カルバゾールを用いた以外は合成例1と同様の方法で合成し、白色固体を得た。
1H−NMR(CDCl3(d=ppm)):7.26-7.67 (16H, m), 7.68-7.91 (13H, m), 8.17 (2H, d, J = 7.8 Hz), 8.26 (2H, d, J = 7.3 Hz) , 8.47 (2H, s)。
化合物[16]の合成
フェニルカルバゾール−3−ボロン酸の代わりに4−(ジフェニルアミノ)フェニルボロン酸を用いた以外は合成例1と同様の方法で合成し、白色固体を得た。
1H−NMR(CDCl3(d=ppm)):7.00-7.90 (29H, m), 8.15-8.20 (3H, m), 8.33 (1H, s)。
化合物[61]の合成
フェニルカルバゾール−3−ボロン酸の代わりに9−フェニル−2−(4,4,5,5−テトラメチル−1,3,2−ジオキサボロラン−2−イル)−9H−カルバゾールを用いた以外は合成例1と同様の方法で合成し、白色固体を得た。
1H−NMR(CDCl3(d=ppm)):7.28-7.90 (25H, m), 8.14-8.24 (5H, m), 8.38-8.39 (1H, m)。
化合物[73]の合成
9−(3−クロロフェニル)−9H−カルバゾールの代わりに9−(4−ブロモフェニル)カルバゾールを用いた以外は合成例1と同様の方法で合成し、白色固体を得た。
1H−NMR(CDCl3(d=ppm)):7.31-7.70 (19H, m), 7.80-7.91 (6H, m), 8.19-8.31 (4H, m), 8.49-8.50 (2H, m)。
ITO透明導電膜を90nm堆積させたガラス基板(ジオマテック(株)製、11Ω/□、スパッタ品)を38×46mmに切断し、エッチングを行った。得られた基板を “セミコクリーン56”(商品名、フルウチ化学(株)製)で15分間超音波洗浄してから、超純水で洗浄した。この基板を素子を作製する直前に1時間UV−オゾン処理し、真空蒸着装置内に設置して、装置内の真空度が5×10−4Pa以下になるまで排気した。抵抗加熱法によって、正孔注入層としてHI−1を10nm蒸着した。次に、正孔輸送層として、化合物[1]を125nm蒸着した。次に、発光層として、ホスト材料に化合物H−1を、ドーパント材料に化合物D−1を用い、ドーパント材料のドープ濃度が5重量%になるようにして40nmの厚さに蒸着した。次に、電子輸送層として、化合物E−1を20nmの厚さに積層した。
電子輸送層として表1に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にして発光素子を作製した。各実施例の結果は表1に示した。
正孔輸送層として表1に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にして発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表1に示す。なお、HT−1〜HT−5は以下に示す化合物である。
ITO透明導電膜を90nm堆積させたガラス基板(ジオマテック(株)製、11Ω/□、スパッタ品)を38×46mmに切断し、エッチングを行った。得られた基板を “セミコクリーン56”(商品名、フルウチ化学(株)製)で15分間超音波洗浄してから、超純水で洗浄した。この基板を素子を作製する直前に1時間UV−オゾン処理し、真空蒸着装置内に設置して、装置内の真空度が5×10−4Pa以下になるまで排気した。抵抗加熱法によって、正孔注入層としてHI−1を10nm蒸着した。次に、第一正孔輸送層として、HT−1を110nm蒸着した。次に、第二正孔輸送層として、化合物[1]を10nm蒸着した。次に、発光層として、ホスト材料に化合物H−2を、ドーパント材料に化合物D−2を用い、ドーパント材料のドープ濃度が10重量%になるようにして40nmの厚さに蒸着した。次に、電子輸送層として、化合物E−2を20nmの厚さに積層した。
正孔輸送層として表2に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例5と同様にして発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表2に示す。

正孔輸送層、ホスト材料、ドーパント材料として表3に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例8と同様に発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表3に示す。

第二正孔輸送層、ホスト材料、ドーパント材料として表4に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例11と同様に発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表4に示す。

第二正孔輸送層として表5に記載した材料を用いたこと以外は実施例20と同様に発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表5に示す。
第二正孔輸送層として表5に記載した化合物を用いたこと以外は実施例20と同様にして発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表5に示す。
正孔注入層として、化合物HI−1の代わりに化合物HT−7と化合物HI−2を用い、化合物HT−7に対して化合物HI−2のドープ濃度が5重量%になるようにして10nm蒸着したこと以外は実施例20と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。なお、HI−2は以下に示す化合物である。
ホスト材料に化合物H−6の代わりに化合物H−6と化合物H−7の混合ホスト(化合物H−6と化合物H−7の共蒸着膜を蒸着速度比が1:1で蒸着、さらにドーパントが蒸着される)を用いたこと以外は実施例22〜23と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。なお、H−7は以下に示す化合物である。
正孔注入層として、化合物HI−1の代わりに化合物HI−3を用いたこと以外は実施例22〜23と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。なお、HI−3は以下に示す化合物である。
電子輸送層として、化合物E−2とドナー性化合物(Liq:リチウムキノリノール)を混合した層の代わりに表5に記載した材料を用いた以外は実施例22と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。なお、E−3〜E−5は以下に示す化合物である。
電子輸送層として、表5に記載した化合物を用いたこと以外は実施例29と同様にして発光素子を作製し、評価した。結果を表5に示す。なお、E−6〜E−7は以下に示す化合物である。
電子輸送層として、化合物E−2とドナー性化合物(Liq:リチウムキノリノール)を混合した層の代わりに化合物E−2と化合物E−1を膜厚比1:1で35nmの厚さに積層して用いた以外は実施例22と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。
電子輸送層として、化合物E−2とドナー性化合物(Liq:リチウムキノリノール)を混合した層の代わりに化合物E−3と化合物E−1を膜厚比1:1で35nmの厚さに積層して用いた以外は実施例22と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。
電子輸送層として、化合物E−2とドナー性化合物(Liq:リチウムキノリノール)を混合した層の代わりに化合物E−4と化合物E−1を膜厚比1:1で35nmの厚さに積層して用いた以外は実施例22と同様にして発光素子を作製した。結果を表5に示す。
ITO透明導電膜を125nm堆積させたガラス基板(旭硝子(株)製、15Ω/□、電子ビーム蒸着品)を30×40mmに切断し、フォトリソグラフィー法によって300μmピッチ(残り幅270μm)×32本のストライプ状にパターン加工した。ITOストライプの長辺方向片側は外部との電気的接続を容易にするために1.27mmピッチ(開口部幅800μm)まで広げてある。得られた基板をアセトン、“セミコクリン56”(商品名、フルウチ化学(株)製)で各々15分間超音波洗浄してから、超純水で洗浄した。続いて、イソプロピルアルコールで15分間超音波洗浄してから熱メタノールに15分間浸漬させて乾燥させた。この基板を素子を作製する直前に1時間UV−オゾン処理し、真空蒸着装置内に設置して、装置内の真空度が5×10−4Pa以下になるまで排気した。抵抗加熱法によって、正孔注入層としてHI−1を10nm蒸着した。次に、第一正孔輸送層として、HT−1を110nm蒸着した。次に、第二正孔輸送層として、化合物[1]を10nm蒸着した。次に、発光層として、ホスト材料に化合物H−2を、ドーパント材料に化合物D−2を用い、ドーパント材料のドープ濃度が10重量%になるようにして40nmの厚さに蒸着した。次に、電子輸送層として、化合物E−1を20nmの厚さに積層した。ここで言う膜厚は、水晶発振式膜厚モニター表示値である。次に、厚さ50μmのコバール板にウエットエッチングによって16本の250μmの開口部(残り幅50μm、300μmピッチに相当)を設けたマスクを、真空中でITOストライプに直交するようにマスク交換し、マスクとITO基板が密着するように裏面から磁石で固定した。そしてフッ化リチウムを0.5nm蒸着した後、アルミニウムを200nm蒸着して32×16ドットマトリクス素子を作製した。本素子をマトリクス駆動させたところ、クロストークなく文字表示できた。
Claims (7)
- 下記一般式(10)で表されるカルバゾール骨格を有する化合物または下記一般式(12)で表されるカルバゾール骨格を有する化合物を含有することを特徴とする発光素子材料。
R245〜R259はそれぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、水素、アルキル基、シクロアルキル基、複素環基、アルケニル基、シクロアルケニル基、アルキニル基、アルコキシ基、アルキルチオ基、アリールエーテル基、アリールチオエーテル基、アリール基、ヘテロアリール基、ハロゲン、カルボニル基、カルボキシル基、オキシカルボニル基、カルバモイル基、アミノ基、シリル基および−P(=O)R260R261からなる群より選ばれる。R260およびR261はアリール基またはヘテロアリール基である。Bは下記式(13)で表される基であり、下記式(13)におけるR264またはR267のいずれかの位置と連結する。BもしくはR249は、R254およびR257とは異なる基である。なお、R249、R254またはR257がヘテロアリール基である場合は、ジベンゾフラニル基、ジベンゾチオフェニル基およびカルバゾリル基は除かれる。
R262〜R274はそれぞれ同じでも異なっていてもよく、水素、アルキル基、シクロアルキル基、複素環基、アルケニル基、シクロアルケニル基、アルキニル基、アルコキシ基、アルキルチオ基、アリールエーテル基、アリールチオエーテル基、アリール基、ハロゲン、カルボニル基、カルボキシル基、オキシカルボニル基、カルバモイル基、シリル基および−P(=O)R275R276からなる群より選ばれる。R275およびR276はアリール基またはヘテロアリール基である。ただし、R264またはR267のうちいずれか1つは母骨格との連結に用いられる。) - 前記一般式(10)で表されるカルバゾール骨格を有する化合物を含み、前記一般式(10)において、Aが式(11)におけるR64またはR67のいずれかの位置と連結する請求項1記載の発光素子材料。
- 陽極と陰極の間に少なくとも正孔輸送層が存在し、電気エネルギーにより発光する素子であって、正孔輸送層に請求項1または2記載の発光素子材料を含有することを特徴とする発光素子。
- 陽極と陰極の間に少なくとも正孔輸送層および発光層が存在し、電気エネルギーにより発光する素子であって、正孔輸送層に請求項1または2記載の発光素子材料を含有し、発光層に三重項発光材料を含有することを特徴とする発光素子。
- 陽極と陰極の間に少なくとも発光層が存在し、電気エネルギーにより発光する素子であって、発光層がホスト材料とドーパント材料を有し、請求項1または2記載の発光素子材料がホスト材料であることを特徴とする発光素子。
- 前記正孔輸送層と陽極の間に正孔注入層が存在し、正孔注入層が電子アクセプター性化合物を含有する請求項3または4記載の発光素子。
- 発光層と陰極の間に少なくとも電子輸送層が存在し、電子輸送層が、電子受容性窒素を含み、さらに炭素、水素、窒素、酸素、ケイ素、リンの中から選ばれる元素で構成されるヘテロアリール環構造を有する化合物を含有することを特徴とする請求項3〜6のいずれか記載の発光素子。
