Description
以下の具体的な特徴を組み込むために下流ダイリップを変化させたことを除けばウィスコンシン州チペワフォールズのエクストルージョン・ダイス・インコーポレイテッド(Extrusion Dies,Inc.,Chippewa Falls,WI)より商品名「ウルトラコート」(Ultracoat)で市販されるスロットダイ装置と実質的に同じであるスロットダイ装置を使用して、再帰反射性シーティングを作製した。(1)リップの水平長さを0.478インチから0.884インチ(12.14mmから22.45mm)に変化させた。(2)ポリカーボネート出口スロット付近のリップ断面を薄くすることで、リップ水平断面中にヒンジを形成し、それによってリップの下流部分を垂直面において調節できるようにした。(3)このリップのポリカーボネート接触面は、2つの平面が得られるように機械加工しており、その第1の面は、工具表面からダイの分割線の外挿まで反時計回りに測定して垂直に対し89.2°の角度であり、第2の面は、工具表面からダイの分割線の外挿まで反時計回りに測定して反時計回りに垂直に対し87.6°であった。(4)ダイボルトは、ダイリップの外側または後部を押し込むように構成されており、このため、ボルトの調整によって後部リップを垂直に移動させることができたが、前部および後部ダイリップの間のポリカーボネートスロットは実質的に変化しなかった。(5)図6を参照して、寸法150が0.33インチ(8.38mm)の厚さを有し、寸法151が0.26インチ(6.60mm)の厚さを有し、寸法152が0.19インチ(4.83mm)の厚さを有し、および角度153が基準面2000に対して105°となるように、リップをP−20工具鋼から作製した。
下流リップの全体の長さが0.501インチ(12.725mm)であり、下流リップが1つの平面を含んでいる異なるスロットダイ装置を使用して、実施例1〜4で説明したものと同じ一般手順を繰り返した。この工具は、約9.74°だけ前方に傾いた薄板から複製したキューブ空隙を有するキューブコーナー空隙チャネルを含んだ。キューブ空隙の幅は7.5ミル(0.19mm)であり、これは薄板の厚さに対応しており、側溝間隔は5.0ミル(0.127mm)であった。キューブのピークは、側溝の間の中央にあり、主溝表面によって交差する薄板側部から平面図において4.125ミル(0.1048mm)に位置した。すべての側溝が、実質的に90°の開先角度を有した。主溝面は、工具表面の面によって画定される法線ベクトルに対してほぼ45°に向いていた。
Claims (1)
- ロール品として提供される再帰反射性シーティングであって、
一対の長手方向周辺端部と、
少なくとも1列のPGキューブコーナー微細構造と、
前記PGキューブコーナー微細構造の列と平行に延在する連続平面を含み、前記長手方向周辺端部に平行な少なくとも1つのチャネルとを有し、
前記少なくとも1列のPGキューブコーナー微細構造は、長方形、四辺形、台形又は五角形を有する複数の反射面を備え、前記PGキューブコーナー微細構造の各々は、少なくとも1つの非二面体端部を有し、前記非二面体端部は、(1)平面又は平面を近似する他の面である基準面に対して平行でなく、かつ(2)近傍のキューブコーナー要素の隣接する非二面体端部と実質平行であり、前記PGキューブコーナー要素は前記基準面に沿って配置され、
前記複数の反射面は、0.001インチ(0.0254mm)から0.010インチ(0.254mm)の範囲の平均高さを有し、
前記PGキューブコーナー微細構造は、第1の溝の組及び第3の主溝から形成され、前記第1の溝の組における少なくとも2つの側溝が互いに1°以内の非平行であるとともに、前記チャネルに垂直に延びる基準面28に対して1°以内の非平行であり、複数の前記側溝の少なくともいくつかの谷線が、前記PGキューブコーナー要素の非二面体端部に相当する、再帰反射性シーティング。
