Description
Claims (7)
- 環状のハウジング(5)内に取り付けられた環状の改質触媒、および該触媒と直接流体連通した燃料供給手段(6)を備える排気ガスマニホールド(2)と、前記触媒と直接流体連通した改質油用の出口(10、11)と、エンジンアウト排気ガスの一部が前記燃料供給手段からの燃料と混合するように前記環状の触媒に入り、前記触媒を通過することができるようになっている手段(5a)とを備える、ガソリンエンジン用の排気ガス処理システムであって、前記環状のハウジングは、高温のエンジンアウト排気ガスが前記ハウジングの中心の周りにかつそれを通して流れることができるように配置され、それによって、熱が前記排気ガスから前記ハウジング内の前記触媒に伝達され、燃料と排気ガスの混合気が触媒内を流れる間に改質油に変換され、環状のハウジング(5)が改質油が捕集される閉鎖端部(5b)を備える、排気ガス処理システム。
- 前記環状の改質触媒が、金属フロースルー触媒担体に担持される、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記出口からエンジンの入口マニホールドの方へ改質油を供給する手段を備える、請求項1または2に記載のシステム。
- 前記エンジンが排気ガス再循環(EGR)装置を備え、改質油を供給する前記手段が前記EGR装置に接続される、請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 改質装置触媒を通して排気ガスおよび燃料の流れを助けるように、入口マニホールド真空を利用する手段が設けられる、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 前記燃料供給手段が、エンジンの電子式エンジン管理ユニットによって制御される燃料噴射装置である、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
- 請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のシステムの動作を含む、ガソリンエンジンの効率を増加させる方法。
