Description
焼結金属粉末組成物を含むプリフォームを形成するステップ;
上部型及び下部型を有する一組の型に前記プリフォームを注入するステップ(ここで、前記一組の型は、その内部において鍛造物の形状を定め、かつ、前記上部型が下部型に接触している閉じられた位置にある。);及び、

Claims (13)
- (A)焼結金属粉末組成物を含むプリフォームを形成するステップと、
(B)上部型及び下部型を有する一組の型に前記プリフォームを挿入するステップと、
(C)上部パンチ及び下部パンチを用いて、前記プリフォームを金属粉末鍛造物の形状に圧縮し、それにより、成形部品を得るステップと、
を含む金属粉末鍛造物を製造する方法であって、
前記上部パンチの形状が前記上部金型の開口部の形状と合致し、
前記一組の型の内部によって、前記鍛造物の形状が定められ、そして、前記プリフォームを挿入する際に、前記一組の型が、前記上部型が前記下部型に接触している閉じられた位置にあることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記下部型から前記上部型を引き上げて、前記上部型と前記下部型との間に間隔を生じさせるステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記下部パンチを用いて、前記成形部品を前記下部型から前記間隔の方に取り除くステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記下部パンチが、前記成形部品の内部に挿入されるスナッグピンを有していることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記一組の型から前記成形部品を放出する放出ステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップ(C)が、前記上部型及び前記下部型のうち1以上を加熱する加熱ステップを含み、そして、前記方法が、前記放出ステップの直後に成形部品を焼き入れするステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記プリフォームが、第1端部と、前記第1端部に対向する第2端部と、前記第1端部と前記第2端部とをつなぐ外形と、前記第1端部と前記第2端部とをつなぐ内形と、を含み、
前記外形には、複数の長手方向の突起と、複数の長手方向の凹部と、が設けられ、
前記複数の長手方向の各突起が、前記複数の長手方向の凹部のうち1つによって、それ以外の前記複数の長手方向の突起から分離され、そして、
前記内形には、長手方向のキー溝と、複数の長手方向のスプラインと、が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記加熱ステップにおいて、略204.4℃〜315.6℃の加熱用液体を用いることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記プリフォームが、略6.85 g/cm3〜7.4 g/cm3の密度を有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プリフォームが、略6.85 g/cm3〜7.0 g/cm3の密度を有していることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記ステップ(C)が、シリンダを用いて前記一組の型に圧力を加え、それにより、前記上部型と前記下部型との密接な接触状態を保持することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記プリフォームが、略0.40%〜2.00%のニッケルと、略0.50%〜0.65%のモリブデンと、略0.10%〜0.35%のマンガンと、略0.12%〜0.80%の炭素と、鉄と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1ないし11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記金属粉末鍛造物が、等速ジョイントの内輪であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
