Description
(1)(A)(a1)導電性フィラー、及び
(a2)ポリマー材料
を含んで成る層状ポリマーPTC要素、
(B)ポリマーPTC要素の両側の表面に配置された金属電極
を有して成るPTC素子、ならびに
(2)少なくとも一部分がPTC素子の金属電極上に位置し、導電性材料によって金属電極に接続されたリード
を有して成り、上記導電性材料の露出部分は、アルカリを吸収または包接できる材料を含んで成る保護部材によって覆われていることを特徴とするPTCデバイスを提供する。
また、PTC素子の各金属電極と各リードとを接続する導電性材料は、これらを電気的に接続できる材料であれば、特に限定されるものではないが、本発明においても、そのような導電性材料を用いることができる。例えば、ハンダ、ハンダペースト、導電性接着剤等を使用できる。
本発明の1つの態様のPTCデバイスを図2に示す。図示したPTCデバイス10は、導電性フィラー及びポリマー材料を含んで成る層状ポリマーPTC要素12、ポリマーPTC要素の両側の表面14および16上に金属電極(例えば金属箔電極)18および20を有するPTC素子22ならびにリード24および26を有して成る。

Claims (8)
- (1)(A)(a1)導電性フィラー、及び
(a2)ポリマー材料
を含んで成る層状ポリマーPTC要素、及び
(B)ポリマーPTC要素の両側の表面に配置された金属電極
を有して成るPTC素子、ならびに
(2)少なくとも一部分がPTC素子の金属電極上に位置し、導電性材料によって金属電極に接続されたリード
を有して成り、上記導電性材料の露出部分は、アルカリを吸収または包接できる材料を含んで成る保護部材によって覆われていることを特徴とするPTCデバイス。 - 導電性材料は、錫を含んで成る請求項1に記載のPTCデバイス。
- アルカリを吸収または包接できる材料は、クラウンエーテル類である請求項1または2に記載のPTCデバイス。
- 保護部材は、リードの端部分が突出した状態でPTC素子およびリードの残りの部分を包囲する成形部材の形態である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のPTCデバイス。
- 保護部材は、リードの端部分が突出した状態でPTC素子およびリードの残りの部分を包囲するフィルムの形態である請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のPTCデバイス。
- 正極、負極、これらの間に配置されたセパレータおよび電解液を有して成り、正極と正極端子との間で請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のPTCデバイスが配置されていることを特徴とする2次電池。
- 正極と正極端子の間に位置する正極タブ空間内に、PTCデバイスが配置されている、乾電池型である請求項6に記載の2次電池。
- 2次電池と、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のPTCデバイスと、保護回路とを含む電池パックであって、保護回路と共にPTCデバイスが二次電池の外側に配置されている電池パック。
