Description
本発明において重要な点は、複数の粒状体が結着した磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末をバインダー樹脂に分散してなる球状複合体粒子であって、粒子表面に複数の粒状体が結着した磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末に起因した凹凸を形成させることである。
被覆樹脂キャリアの強制劣化テストは、以下のように行った。樹脂被覆キャリア10gをサンプルミルSK−M10型(協立理工株式会社製)に投入し、ふたをベルトで固定した後、16000rpmで60秒間攪拌した。
RINI:強制劣化テスト前の印加電圧100Vにおける電気抵抗値
R:強制劣化テスト後の印加電圧100Vにおける電気抵抗値
B:強制劣化テスト前後の変化幅の絶対値が0.5以上1.0未満
C:強制劣化テスト前後の変化幅の絶対値が1.0以上1.5未満
D:強制劣化テスト前後の変化幅の絶対値が1.5以上
(酸化鉄粒子A)
Fe2+ 1.9mol/Lを含む硫酸第一鉄水溶液を10Lと12Nの水酸化ナトリウム水溶液4Lとを反応器に加え、95℃において攪拌機回転数5rpm、毎分1.5Lの酸素を通気させ反応を行った。このとき、反応鉄濃度は1.36mol/Lであった。反応終了後、濾過、水洗、乾燥、粉砕を行い磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Aを得た。
磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の製造条件を種々変化させた以外は、前記酸化鉄粒子Aと同様にして磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末を得た。
Fe2+ 1.6mol/Lを含む硫酸第一鉄水溶液25.0Lを、あらかじめ反応器中に準備された3.1Nの水酸化ナトリウム水溶液24.5Lに加え(Fe2+ に対し0.95当量に該当する。)、pH6.7、温度90℃において水酸化第一鉄塩コロイドを含む第一鉄懸濁液の生成を行った後、毎分80Lの空気を通気して第一段反応を開始し、同時にケイ素成分として3号水ガラス(SiO2 28.8wt%)123.4g(Feに対しSi換算で1.7原子%に該当する。)を水で希釈して0.3Lとしたものを添加した。上記水ガラス溶液の添加後、攪拌しながら酸化反応を続け、第一段反応を終了させ磁性酸化鉄核晶粒子を含む第一鉄懸濁液を得た。このとき、酸化反応開始後、Fe2+ の酸化度が10%を越えて以降のpHは7.0〜8.5の範囲内であった。
球状マグネタイト粒子を含むケーキを成形・乾燥して得られた平均径5mmの乾燥成形物で凝集粒子径30μmの粉末(個数平均粒子径0.23μm、飽和磁化値83.5emu/g、保磁力55Oeである.)を株式会社日本製鋼所製の二軸混練機(型名:TEX−54KC)でL/D(二軸混練機のシリンダーの長さLとシリンダー径Dとの比)が10.7、ESP(粉末1kg当たりの電力量)が0.21kWh/kgで処理した。
粒度は、グライドメーター上で同じ粒径の粒が3つあるところを試料の凝集粒子径として判定した。尚、この操作を5回繰り返して、その平均値を磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の凝集粒子径として求めた。
Fe2+ 1.6mol/Lを含む硫酸第一鉄水溶液を23.75Lと2.75mol/Lの水酸化ナトリウム水溶液26.25L(Fe2+に対して0.95当量に相当する)とを反応器に加え、90℃において毎分90Lの空気を通気して酸化反応(第一段反応)を行い、第一段反応後にpHが11になるように水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を加えて引き続き酸化反応(第二段反応)を行った。第二段反応終了後、濾過、水洗、乾燥、粉砕を行い磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Mを得た。
(親油化処理1:磁性酸化鉄粒子A)
フラスコに粒状磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Aを1000g仕込み十分に良く攪拌した後、エポキシ基を有するシラン系カップリング剤(商品名:KBM−403 信越化学社製)5.0gを添加し、約100℃まで昇温し30分間良く混合攪拌することによりカップリング剤で被覆されている磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末を得た。
磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の親油化処理条件を種々変化させた以外は、前記酸化鉄粒子Aと同様にしてカップリング剤で被覆されている磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末を得た。
親油化処理する粉末を磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末から板状ストロンチウムフェライト(個数平均粒子径0.7μm)に変え、親油化処理条件を種々変化させた以外は、前記酸化鉄粒子と同様にしてカップリング剤で被覆されている板状ストロンチウムフェライト粒子粉末を得た。
<親油化処理後の磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の混合>
フラスコに親油化処理を行った磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Aと親油化処理を行った磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Mを混合比率30対70(重量比)で1000g仕込み、250rpmの攪拌速度で30分間良く混合攪拌した。
フェノール 10重量部
37%ホルマリン 15重量部
磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末A及びMを親油化処理後に混合した粉末 100重量部
25%アンモニア水 3.5重量部
水 15重量部
上記材料を1Lの四つ口フラスコに入れ、250rpmの攪拌速度で攪拌しながら60分間で85℃に昇温させた後、同温度で120分間反応・硬化させることにより、磁性酸化鉄粒子とバインダー樹脂からなる球状磁性複合体粒子の生成を行った。
磁性酸化鉄粒子の種類及び親油化処理した粒子粉末の混合比率、球状磁性複合体粒子の製造条件を種々変化させた以外は、実施例1と同一の条件で操作を行って球状磁性複合体粒子を得た。
フラスコに親油化処理を行った磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Cと親油化処理を行った磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末Mを混合比率20対80(重量比)で仕込み、250rpmの攪拌速度で30分間良く混合攪拌した。
磁性酸化鉄粒子を一種類に変え、球状磁性複合体粒子の製造条件を種々変化させた以外は、実施例1と同一の条件で操作を行って球状磁性複合体粒子を得た。
磁性酸化鉄粒子に板状ストロンチウムフェライト(個数平均粒子径0.7μm)を用いることと、球状磁性複合体粒子の製造条件を種々変化させた以外は、実施例1と同一の条件で操作を行って球状磁性複合体粒子を得た。
実施例9
窒素気流下、ヘンシェルミキサー内に球状磁性複合体粒子1を1000g、シリコーン系樹脂(商品名:KR251 信越化学社製)を固形分として10g及びカーボンブラック(商品名:トーカブラック#4400 東海カーボン社製)を1.5g添加し、100℃の温度で60分間攪拌してカーボンブラックを含有したシリコーン系樹脂からなる樹脂被覆層の形成を行った。
球状磁性複合体粒子の種類及び樹脂被覆キャリアの製造方法を種々変化させた以外は、実施例9と同一の条件で操作を行って樹脂被覆キャリアを得た。

- 磁性酸化鉄粒子をバインダー樹脂に分散してなる球状磁性複合体粒子からなる電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリアであって、磁性酸化鉄粒子として少なくとも複数の粒状体が結着した平均粒子径が0.5〜30μmの磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末を使用することを特徴とする電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。
- 前記複数の粒状体が結着した磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の比表面積Sv(m2/g)がSv≧2/X[X(μm);平均粒子径]を満足することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。
- 前記複数の粒状体が結着した磁性酸化鉄粒子粉末の展色L*値が60以上であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2のいずれかに記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。
- 前記複数の粒状体が結着した磁性酸化鉄粒子を磁性酸化鉄粒子a、複数の粒状体が結着していない磁性酸化鉄粒子を磁性酸化鉄粒子bとした際、電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリアに含まれる前記磁性酸化鉄粒子aと前記磁性酸化鉄粒子bとの混合比率が、磁性キャリアに含まれる磁性酸化鉄粒子の総量を100重量%とした場合、5〜95重量%の範囲内で磁性酸化鉄粒子aが含まれている請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。
- 前記バインダー樹脂がフェノール系樹脂である請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。

- 前記球状磁性複合体粒子の粒子表面に樹脂被覆してなり、かつ、該被覆樹脂が、シリコーン系樹脂、フッ素系樹脂、アクリル系樹脂、スチレン−アクリル系樹脂から選ばれる1種又は2種以上である請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリア。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の電子写真現像剤用磁性キャリアとトナーからなる二成分系現像剤。
