Description
図1には、本発明の第1実施例による二次電池の保護回路の構成を示している。
図2には、本発明の第2実施例による二次電池の保護回路の構成を示している。
正極活物質としてのLiCoO2と導電剤、バインダーを混ぜ合わせてスラリーを調製し、該スラリーをアルミニウム箔にコーティングして正極を作製した。負極は、活物質としてカーボン系活物質を使用し、導電剤、バインダーを混ぜ合わせてスラリーを調製した後、該スラリーを銅箔にコーティングして負極を作製した。このような方式で作製された両電極の間にPE(ポリエチレン)/PP(ポリプロピレン)からなるセパレータを挟み込んで、巻回して金属缶からなる外装材に挿入することにより角形二次電池を構成した。ここで、上記角形二次電池における電解液としてはEC/PC系を使用し、二次電池の容量は800mAhであった。
バイメタルと抵抗を使っていないことを除いては、第3実施例と同様にして二次電池を用意し、第3実施例と同じ方法にて実験を施した。その結果を図5及び図6に示す。図5及び図6を参照すれば、上記二次電池が高温で爆発することが分かる。

2Ωの抵抗を使っていることを除いては、第3実施例と同様にして二次電池を用意し、第3実施例と同じ方法にて実験を施した。その結果を図9及び図10に示す。図9及び図10を参照すれば、上記二次電池の爆発や発火、バイメタルの破壊現象は起こっていないことが分かる。
5Ωの抵抗を使っていることを除いては、第3実施例と同様にして二次電池を用意し、第3実施例と同じ方法にて実験を施した。その結果を図11及び図12に示す。図11及び図12を参照すれば、上記二次電池の爆発や発火、バイメタルの破壊現象は起こっていないことが分かる。
Claims (10)
- 二次電池の保護回路であって、
その一端が前記二次電池の第1極に接続される抵抗と、
前記二次電池の第2極と外部電極の第2極とを接続した第1状態と、前記二次電池の第2極と前記外部電極の第2極との間の接続を遮断して、前記二次電池の第2極と前記外部電極の第1極とを前記抵抗を介して接続した第2状態との間のスイッチング動作を、温度に感応して行うバイメタルと、
前記二次電池の第1極と前記外部電極の第1極とを接続する導線と、を含むことを特徴とする二次電池の保護回路。 - 前記バイメタルが、高温時に、前記第1状態から前記第2状態へと前記スイッチング動作を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 前記抵抗が、前記二次電池の第1極に形成された伝導体を介して前記二次電池の第1極に接続されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 前記抵抗は、前記バイメタルが破壊しないように十分に大きな抵抗値であり、且つ前記二次電池が安全に放電するに足りる十分に小さい抵抗値を有することを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 前記抵抗が、前記バイメタルに直接接続され、または前記バイメタルに導線を介して接続されることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 二次電池の保護回路であって、
二次電池の第1極と外部電極の第1極との間に接続される抵抗と、
前記二次電池の第2極と前記外部電極の第2極とを接続した第1状態と、前記二次電池の第2極と前記外部電極の第2極との間の接続を遮断して、前記二次電池の第2極と前記外部電極の第1極とを接続した第2状態との間のスイッチング動作を、温度に感応して行うバイメタルと、を含むことを特徴とする二次電池の保護回路。 - 前記バイメタルは、高温時に、前記第1状態から前記第2状態へと前記スイッチング動作を行うことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 前記抵抗が、前記二次電池の第1極に形成された伝導体を介して前記二次電池の第1極に接続されることを特徴とする請求項6又は7に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 前記抵抗は、前記バイメタルが破壊しないように十分に大きな抵抗値であり、且つ前記二次電池が安全に放電するに足りる十分に小さい抵抗値を有することを特徴とする請求項6から8のいずれか1項に記載の二次電池の保護回路。
- 請求項1から9のいずれか1項に記載の二次電池の保護回路を備えた二次電池。
