Description
(1)冷間始動時において、内燃機関本体・冷却水・潤滑オイルの温度が低いことから、内燃機関の摩擦力(例えばピストンとシリンダとの摺接部等)が大きく、燃料の燃焼が不安定となり、燃費が悪く、有害ガスの排出量が多い。
(2)内燃機関が自動車に搭載される場合、冷間始動時の暖房が遅い。
(3)例えばアイドルストップや、内燃機関に加えて駆動力源としてモータを用いるハイブリッド車両等の低燃費技術は機関暖機後に作動するため、低燃費技術の効果が機関暖機前に十分に発揮されない。
・快適性をより高い次元で成立することのできる内燃機関を提供することにある。
Claims (3)
- シリンダと、
シリンダ内を往復動するピストンと、
そのピストンに連結されて、ピストンの往復動による運動エネルギーを外部に出力する動力出力部と、
前記シリンダおよびピストンによって構成され、燃料と空気との混合気が燃焼する燃焼室と、
その燃焼室に設けられ、前記混合気を燃焼させるための火花を発生させる燃焼室点火プラグと、
前記燃焼室へ空気を導入する吸気ポートと前記燃焼室との間に設けられた吸気弁と、
前記燃焼室で前記混合気が燃焼して生じる燃焼ガスを排出する排気ポートと前記燃焼室との間に設けられた排気弁とを備えた内燃機関において、
前記燃焼室に隣接して設けられた発熱室と、
前記発熱室と前記燃焼室との間を連通状態および遮断状態のいずれともすることができる発熱室弁と、
前記発熱室に導入された気体の熱を回収して、その回収した熱を暖機に利用する発熱室熱回収部と、
前記燃焼ガスに含まれているハイドロカーボンを酸化させるHC浄化部と、
そのHC浄化部に隣接して設けられ、前記HC浄化部でハイドロカーボンが酸化されることにより発生する熱と機関冷却水の熱との熱交換を行うことで、HC浄化部で発生した熱を回収する浄化部熱回収部とを備え、
前記HC浄化部が前記発熱室に設けられており、前記発熱室熱回収部が前記浄化部熱回収部としても機能し、
前記発熱室に、発熱室内の前記混合気を燃焼させるための発熱室点火プラグが配置されており、
前記HC浄化部は、前記発熱室内において、前記発熱室点火プラグよりも前記発熱室弁から遠い位置に配置されており、
前記発熱室熱回収部は、前記HC浄化部よりもさらに前記発熱室弁から遠い位置において熱を回収し、
さらに、前記混合気の燃焼により生じる熱エネルギーを前記発熱室熱回収部で回収するための制御を行う熱回収制御実行部を備え、
前記熱回収制御実行部は、
前記ピストンが下降することにより前記燃焼室に前記混合気を吸気するために、前記吸気弁を開き、前記排気弁、前記発熱室弁を閉じる吸気行程と、
前記吸気弁、前記排気弁を閉じて、前記燃焼室点火プラグに火花を発生させるとともに、前記発熱室弁を開いていくことで、前記ピストンの上昇により、前記発熱室へ前記燃焼ガスを導入する燃焼行程と、
前記吸気弁、前記排気弁は閉じたままとし、前記発熱室弁を開けたままとし、前記発熱室点火プラグに火花を発生させる燃焼ガス保持行程と、
前記吸気弁は閉じたまま、前記発熱室弁は開いたままとし、前記排気弁を開くことで、前記ピストンの上昇により、前記燃焼室から前記燃焼ガスを排出する排気行程とを行うことを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 請求項1において、
前記HC浄化部は、前記発熱室に設けられていることに加えて、前記排気ポートにも設けられており、
前記発熱室熱回収部が、前記発熱室に設けられているHC浄化部に対応する浄化部熱回収部として機能し、
前記排気ポートに設けられているHC浄化部に隣接して、そのHC浄化部で発生した熱を回収する前記浄化部熱回収部が設けられていることを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関であって、
当該内燃機関は、当該内燃機関以外に駆動力源を備えている車両に、駆動力源として搭載されることを特徴とする内燃機関。
