Claims (16)
- ピストンエアバッグと、前記ピストンエアバッグに隣接して取り付けられた主エアバッグとをそれぞれが含み、初期設定の車高にそれぞれが設定された複数の空気ばねアセンブリと、
前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグのそれぞれに少なくとも1つが連結する複数のバルブアセンブリと、
前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグに関して流れ制限の相違を特定し、その後、特定された流れ制限の相違に基づいて得られる車両の高さ変化の速度を決定する制御装置であって、各空気ばねアセンブリを所望の車高およびばね定数に調整し且つ維持するように構成され、前記所望の車高およびばね定数にするために、前記得られる車両の高さ変化の速度に基づいて前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグに流出入する流量を前記連結するバルブアセンブリで変えることにより、前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグ内の圧力を能動的に変える制御装置と、
を備え、
前記所望の車高が得られると、前記所望の車高を維持するための能動的変化は、前記制御装置が専ら前記ピストンエアバッグを膨張または収縮させるための制御信号を生成することでなされ、
次の車高変更が要求されると、前記制御装置は、前記次の車高変更が達成されるまで、前記ピストンエアバッグおよび前記主エアバッグの両方に対する流量を変えるエアサスペンションシステム。 - 前記制御装置は、車両動作時に、各空気ばねアセンブリのばね力およびばね定数を、他のすべての空気ばねアセンブリから独立して能動的に変える、請求項1に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- 前記制御装置は、各ピストンエアバッグおよび各主エアバッグに流出入する空気流を制御することにより、前記空気ばねアセンブリのそれぞれのばね力およびばね定数を連続的に調整する、請求項2に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- 前記制御装置は、前記所望の車高およびばね定数に調整するために、共通の空気ばねアセンブリ内の前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグの両方に流入する流量を同時に調整する、請求項1に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- 前記制御装置は、前記共通の空気ばねアセンブリの前記主エアバッグに第1の流量を供給し、前記共通の空気ばねアセンブリの前記ピストンエアバッグに前記第1の流量とは異なる第2の流量を供給する、請求項4に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- 車高を連続的に監視し、車高データを入力として前記制御装置に送る複数の車高センサを含み、前記制御装置は、前記所望の車高を、最後に受け取った入力と比較し、前記所望の車高を維持するために前記ピストンエアバッグ内の圧力を能動的に調整する、請求項1に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- 前記所望の車高になった後、前記制御装置は、前記所望の車高を維持するために、前記ピストンエアバッグに流出入する流量を制御することで車高を調整する、請求項1に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- エアサスペンションシステムの車高を調整する方法であって、
(a)ピストンエアバッグと、前記ピストンエアバッグに隣接して取り付けられた主エアバッグとをそれぞれが含む複数の空気ばねアセンブリを提供するステップと、
(b)所望の車高を規定する車高変更要求を受け取るステップと、
(c)前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグに関して流れ制限の相違を特定し、その後、特定された流れ制限の相違に基づいて得られる車両の高さ変化の速度を決定し、且つ、現在の車高を決定するステップと、
(d)前記所望の車高になるまで、前記得られる車両の高さ変化の速度に基づいて前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグに流出入する流量を能動的に制御するステップと、
(e) 前記所望の車高が得られると、専ら前記ピストンエアバッグの膨張または収縮の速度を制御することにより前記所望の車高を維持するステップと、
(f) 新たな車高変更の要求を受け取ると、前記新たな車高変更が達成されるまで、前記ピストンエアバッグおよび前記主エアバッグの両方に関して流量を変えるステップと、を含む方法。 - ステップ(d)は、共通の空気ばねアセンブリ内の前記主エアバッグおよび前記ピストンエアバッグ内の圧力を同時に調整することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- ステップ(d)は、前記ピストンエアバッグを第1の流量で膨張または収縮させ、前記主エアバッグを前記第1の流量とは異なる第2の流量で膨張または収縮させることを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 様々なサスペンション部品間のハードウェア上の相違を特定し、これらのハードウェア上の相違に対処するために、前記流量を修正することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記所望の車高になった後、前記所望の車高を維持するために、前記ピストンエアバッグに流出入する流量を調整することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記主エアバッグのそれぞれは、それぞれの主エアバッグ容積を画定し、前記ピストンエアバッグのそれぞれは、それぞれのピストンエアバッグ容積を画定し、
前記制御装置は、車高を変えるために、前記主エアバッグ容積の各々への流量が互いに等しく且つ前記ピストンエアバッグ容積の各々への流量が互いに等しいように、各容積を満たしたり空にしたりするために前記流量を能動的に制御する、請求項1に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。 - 前記制御装置は、前記主エアバッグ容積間の相違および前記ピストンエアバッグ容積間の相違を特定し、それに応じて車高を変えるために流量を調整する、請求項13に記載のエアサスペンションシステム。
- ステップ(d)は、ピストンバルブアセンブリと主バルブアセンブリとの間のハードウェア上の相違を特定すること、および、車高変更が達成されるように、各エアバッグ容積が一致した速度で満たされるよう前記流量を調整することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- ステップ(d)は、主エアバッグ容積間の相違を特定すること、ピストンエアバッグ容積間の相違を特定すること、および、それに応じて車高を変えるために各エアバッグ容積が一致した速度で満たされるように流量を調整することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
