Description
インバータを駆動輪間に設置することは、インバータとモータ間の配線や配線の取り回しが短く出来るため、バッテリー駆動する車両にとって最も重要な走行距離の延長に対して車両質量の低減に有効である。しかし、車両質量の低減を追及する場合には、インバータとモータ間の配線だけでなく、ラジエータ並びにバッテリとの相対位置の最適化が必要である。
前記インバータとラジエータ間の冷却媒体の配管は、インバータの車両前後方向の前端で接続する。
前記インバータとバッテリとの間の配線は、インバータの車両前後方向の後端から引き出す。
前記インバータとバッテリとの間の配線が、インバータの車両前後方向の後端から引き出されていると、インバータとバッテリとの間の配線が行い易く、より一層の配線の短縮や配線に係わる部品の質量の軽減が図れる。
特に、インバータと各インホイールモータ装置との間の配線を、前記インバータの両側の側面のうち、接続するインホイールモータ装置が近い方の側面から引き出し、インバータとバッテリとの間の配線を、インバータの車両前後方向の後端から引き出し、インバータとラジエータ間の冷却媒体の配管を、インバータの車両前後方向の前端で接続したため、配線、配管の長さを短くでき、配線、配管に係わる部品の質量を軽減できて、電費の向上が達成できる。
インホイールモータ装置4は、各種の形式のものがあり、車輪用軸受16とは別に独立して設けられたものであっても、また減速機18を有しないものや、車輪内に全体が収まるモータからなるものであっても良い。
電気自動車では少ない電池積載量で長い距離を走行出来ることが地球環境保護に役立つ。電費を向上させるには電気自動車の質量の低減が有効である。
例えば、図4または図5の各実施形態に示すように、後輪2Rをインホイールモータ駆動輪2とし、前輪3Fを従動輪3としても良い。これら図4,図5の各実施形態は、いずれも、バッテリ6は車体1の前後左右方向における中央の下部に設置する。インバータ5は2つのインホイールモータ装置4を駆動するものであって、バッテリ6の後端の上方に配置している。これにより、インバータ5は、インホイールモータ駆動輪2の存在する前後方向範囲に一部が位置している。

Claims (4)
- インホイールモータ装置で駆動される駆動輪であるインホイールモータ駆動輪を車体の左右両側に有するインホイールモータ型電気自動車において、
車体に設置される全てのインホイールモータ装置に交流電力を給電する1台のインバータを、左右のインホイールモータ装置の間に位置する左右方向位置で前記車体に設置し、前記インバータを冷却するラジエータを、前記車体の前記インバータよりも前方に設置し、かつ前記インバータを前記車体に設置されたバッテリの上方位置とし、前記インバータと各インホイールモータ装置との間の配線を、前記インバータの両側の側面のうち、接続するインホイールモータ装置が近い方の側面から引き出し、前記インバータと前記ラジエータ間の冷却媒体の配管を、前記インバータの車両前後方向の前端で接続し、前記インバータと前記バッテリとの間の配線を、前記インバータの車両前後方向の後端から引き出したインホイールモータ型電気自動車。 - 請求項1において、インホイールモータ駆動輪を前記車体の前後に有し、前記インバータを前後のインホイールモータ駆動輪の間に位置する前後方向位置に設置したインホイールモータ型電気自動車。
- 請求項1において、インホイールモータ駆動輪を前記車体の前後いずれか一方に有し、前記インバータを、インホイールモータ駆動輪の存在する前後方向範囲に一部または全体を設置させたインホイールモータ型電気自動車。
- 請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項において、前記バッテリを車体の前後方向の中央に配置したインホイールモータ型電気自動車。
