Andrussow方法は、約1100℃にて断熱で行なう。最適な供給物組成は、空気/燃料比が固定された状態で高いCH4/NH3比が有利に働くNH3からHCNへの転化選択率と、相対的に低いCH4/NH3比が有利に働くHCNの総生成速度との妥協点によって決定される。滞留時間は、HCN生成物の分解を防止するために極めて短い(1ms未満)。Andrussow方法における典型的な触媒は、90重量%Ptおよび10重量%Rhワイヤゲージである。許容可能な触媒寿命は60〜360日である。約65〜70%のアンモニアがHCNに、約10%がN2に転化される。約6〜12%のHCNを含有する生成ガスは、HCNの分解を回避するために、廃熱ボイラーにて350〜400℃に急冷される。
プロピレンのアンモ酸化にて副生成物として生成したHCNの量は、生成したANの量と関連する。HCNは貴重な生成物であり、この需要がプロピレンのアンモ酸化方法のHCN生成を超える場合がある。こうした事態が生じる場合、メタノールをプロピレンと共に反応器に供給し、これをAN触媒上でアンモニアおよび酸素と反応させ、次のようにHCNを生成させる。
しかし、AN触媒は、メタノールのアンモ酸化反応ではなくプロピレンに関して最適化されている。さらに、メタノールをプロピレンのアンモ酸化供給物に導入すると、触媒寿命が短縮することがある。

51.3%硝酸マグネシウム水溶液336.68gを反応器に添加した。85%リン酸89.2g、および40%Nalco2327シリカゾル46.31gを激しく攪拌しながら添加した。温度を103〜105℃に上昇させ、反応混合物を体積が約200mlに低下するまで加熱した。この濃縮工程は、所望の触媒密度を得るためには必須である。反応混合物を室温まで冷却し、さらにNalco2327シリカゾル262.56gをスラリーに添加した。スラリーを約16時間粉砕し、乾燥し、935℃にて2時間焼成した。
全てのサンプルをメタノールアンモ酸化反応にて試験した。全ての試験は、3/8インチのステンレススチール製流動床管反応器にて行なった。試験性能データを表1に示す。

式中、[CH3OH]out、[CO]out、[CO2]out、[HCN]outは、反応器流出液における濃度(体積%)である。
SHCN=[HCN]out/([CO]out+[CO2]out+[HCN]out)×l00%。
YHCN=(mol[HCN]formed/mol[CH3OH]in feed)×100%
重量で50:50のメタノールおよびプロピオニトリル(PN)供給物を、Feで改質したU.S.Patent 4,457,905に記載される触媒を含む反応器に供給した。50/50メタノール/PNは、純粋なメタノールとほぼ同じ収率、即ち約70〜72%でHCNに転化されることを見出した。PNの転化率は、本質的に100%であり、HCNに加えて、生成物流はCO、CO2、および微量不純物を含有する。
Claims (13)
- アルコールまたはニトリルまたはアルコールおよびニトリル混合物の供給物をシアン化水素にするアンモ酸化方法であって、
次の実験式を有する改質されたMn−P触媒の存在下にて反応区域にアンモニアおよび酸素と共に前記供給物を通過させることを含む、方法、
MnaP1AbOx
(式中、A=K、Ca、Mo、Zn、Feのうちの1つまたはそれ以上またはこれらの混合物;a=1〜1.5;b=0.01〜1.0、ならびにxは存在する他の元素の酸化状態によって決定される酸素原子総数である)。 - 触媒が担体上にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 担体がTiO2、Al2O3およびSiO2からなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 担体がSiO2である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記アルコール供給物がメタノールである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記酸素が空気として供給される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ニトリル供給物がプロピオニトリルである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- A=Feである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記改質Mn−P触媒が触媒流動床として提供される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- アルコールまたはニトリルまたはアルコールおよびニトリル混合物の供給物をシアン化水素にするアンモ酸化用の触媒であって、次の実験式を有する触媒、
MnaP1AbOx
(式中、A=K、Ca、Mo、Zn、Feのうちの1つまたはそれ以上またはこれらの混合物;a=1〜1.5;b=0.01〜1.0、ならびにxは存在する他の元素の酸化状態によって決定される酸素原子総数である)。 - 前記触媒が担体上にある、請求項10に記載の触媒。
- 担体がTiO2、Al2O3およびSiO2からなる群から選択される、請求項11に記載の触媒。
- 担体がSiO2である、請求項12に記載の触媒。
