Description
反応混合物中のアセトンとフェノールとの反応からビスフェノールAを製造する製造実験を、図6〜図10を参照して説明する。生成物ビスフェノールAを製造する、200で示した試験反応器システム(以下「システム200」という)は、1つの試験反応器と触媒ビーズのキャリーオーバーを回収する1つの安全容器を有する。各容器は直径50cm(19.7インチ)であった。反応器は高さ5m(16.4フィート)であった。図6に210で示す第1容器は、反応体をアップフロー方式で受けとる形状とされ、図1〜5に関連して説明した反応器10と実質的に同じ構造であった。システム200の第1実験では、第1容器210に分配器/回収器システムを設けなかった。しかし、第1容器210は、反応器の底部にスクリーンを設けた。スクリーンメッシュは、スクリーンの開口の寸法が100μm(触媒粒子の最小粒径の約1/3)未満となるようなものとした。第2容器211は、その上端でジャンパーライン215を介して、第1容器210の出口と直列流体連通関係に配置した。第2容器211にはサンド層217をスクリーン上に配置した。第1容器210に約1m3(35.3ft3)の湿潤触媒を仕込んで床212を形成した。床212の高さを直視測定すると、容器210に液体が全く流れていない状態で2.96m(9.71フィート)であった。
図6に関連して上述したものと同様の分配器/回収器システムを第1反応器内に作動可能に装着して、システム200の第2実験を行った。図8を参照すると、システム200の第2実験の温度プロファイルのグラフを226で示す。曲線278で示す、約250kg/hr(550lb/hr)の実質的に一定な反応体流量にて、温度を第1実験と同じ位置でモニターした。第2実験で、床の高さはやはり2.96m(9.71フィート)と測定された。床とその上の蒸気空間との界面は第3温度プローブと第4温度プローブとの中間に位置する。グラフデータから分かるように、下の方3個の温度プローブがモニターした温度は実験全体にわたって一定な温度読み取り値(曲線280、282及び284)を与え、一方上の方3個の温度プローブの温度読み取り値(曲線286、288及び290)は、ゆらぎが第1実験の温度ゆらぎより大幅に改良されている。第2実験では温度ゆらぎの量が少ないので、また、触媒床の表面が平坦であると観察されるので、分配器/回収器システムによりシステム200内のチャネリング量が著しく減少すると結論される。空間速度約1.6〜約1.7の場合、標準偏差は第1プローブ近くで約0.7℃で、第3プローブ近くで約0.4℃である。

Claims (9)
- ビスフェノール異性体を製造するアップフロー反応器(10)であって、
前記アップフロー反応器が、容器(14)と、容器(14)内に配置された触媒床(12)と、容器(14)内に配置された反応原料分配/生成物回収システムとを備えており、ここで前記反応原料はビスフェノール異性体製造に用いるケトン化合物とフェノール化合物からなり、
前記反応原料分配/生成物回収システムが、容器(14)の下端に配置された反応原料の分配器(20)と、容器(14)の上端に配置された生成物の回収器(40)とを備えていて、
分配器(20)は入口(18)と流体が流れるように連結されていて、前記入口(18)を通してケトン化合物とフェノール化合物からなる反応原料が分配器(20)に導入され、
回収器(40)を通して生成物であるビスフェノール異性体が取り出され、
前記分配器(20)が、
前記反応原料が供給される入口(18)と流体が流れるように連結されているマニホールド(28)と、
前記マニホールド(28)から延在する複数のアーム(32)と、
前記マニホールド(28)と前記アーム(32)に設けられた孔(34)と、
前記孔(34)に設けられた分配器スクリーンメッシュ(17)とを備え、
前記分配器スクリーンメッシュ(17)と前記孔(34)がそれらを通して前記反応原料が流通できるように構成されており、
前記回収器(40)が、
マニホールド(42)と、
前記マニホールド(42)に設けられた孔(46)と、
前記孔(46)に設けられた回収器スクリーンメッシュ(47)とを備え、
前記回収器スクリーンメッシュ(47)及び前記孔(46)がそれらを通して生成物が前記マニホールド(42)に導入されるように構成されている、
アップフロー反応器。 - 前記回収器(40)のマニホールド(42)が、前記マニホールド(42)から延在する複数のアーム(44)と、前記マニホールド(42)及び前記アーム(44)に設けられた孔(46)と、前記孔(46)に設けられた回収器スクリーンメッシュ(47)とを備えている、請求項1に記載のアップフロー反応器。
- さらに、容器(14)の下端に配置されて触媒床(12)を支持する層(16)を備え、前記層(16)は、前記触媒床(12)の支持をし且つ前記反応器(10)内の前記反応原料及びビスフェノール異性体生成物に対して不活性な材料から構成される、請求項1又は2に記載のアップフロー反応器。
- 前記層(16)が珪砂、珪藻土、セラミックボール又はこれらの組合せを含む、請求項3記載のアップフロー反応器。
- 容器(14)が、円筒形、並列管、球形又はこれらの組合せ形状の容器(14)である、請求項1に記載のアップフロー反応器。
- 容器(14)がさらに、容器(14)の上面に配置されたジャケット(24)を備える、請求項1に記載のアップフロー反応器。
- 触媒床(12)が、ジビニルベンゼン架橋及びスルホン酸官能基を含むスルホン化芳香族イオン交換樹脂を含む、請求項1又は2に記載のアップフロー反応器。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のアップフロー反応器(10)を使用してケトン化合物及びフェノール化合物からビスフェノール異性体を製造する方法であって、当該方法が、
アップフロー反応器(10)の下端に配置された前記分配器(20)に前記反応原料を導入し、
前記反応原料を前記分配器(20)から前記触媒床(12)を通して上向きに流し、
前記ビスフェノール異性体をアップフロー反応器(10)の上端の回収器(40)から回収する
工程を含む方法。 - 以下の工程:
(a)ケトン化合物及びフェノール化合物からなる反応原料を請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のアップフロー反応器中で反応させてビスフェノール異性体を製造し、
(b)前記ビスフェノール異性体を、ホスゲン、ジフェニルカーボネート、又はホスゲン及びジフェニルカーボネートの組み合わせと反応させる工程、
を含む、ポリカーボネートの製造方法。
