Description
第1実施形態に係る液晶装置について、図1から図8を参照して説明する。
次に、本実施形態に係る液晶装置の変形例について、図9を参照して説明する。以下では、変形例について、上述した本実施形態と異なる点のみ説明する。その他の点については、変形例に係る液晶装置は、上述した本実施形態に係る液晶装置と概ね同様に構成されている。
次に、上述した電気光学装置である反射型の液晶装置を電子機器に適用する場合について説明する。ここでは、本発明に係る電子機器として、投射型液晶プロジェクタを例にとる。ここに、図10は、本実施形態に係る投射型液晶プロジェクタの図式的断面図である。
Claims (5)
- 反射型の電気光学パネルと、
前記電気光学パネルに接続された外部基板と、
前記外部基板上に設けられ、前記電気光学パネルを駆動するための駆動用ICチップと、
前記電気光学パネルの一方の面に少なくとも部分的に重なるように配置された放熱部材と
を備え、
前記外部基板は、前記駆動用ICチップが前記放熱部材に重なるように折り曲げられており、前記電気光学パネルの一辺において前記電気光学パネルに接続される第1端部と、前記第1端部から延設され、前記一方の面の法線方向から見て前記放熱部材に重なると共に前記一辺に沿って延びる延在部と、前記延在部から延設され、前記電気光学パネルの前記一辺に隣接する他辺側に位置する第2端部とを有し、
前記駆動用ICチップは、前記外部基板又は絶縁層を介して前記放熱部材と接触するように設けられている
ことを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 前記駆動用ICチップは、前記外部基板における前記放熱部材に面する側とは反対側の基板面に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記駆動用ICチップは、前記外部基板における前記放熱部材に面する側の基板面に設けられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記電気光学パネルをその周縁部側から包囲しつつ保持すると共に、前記放熱部材に接する保持部材を備えることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置。
- 請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置を具備してなることを特徴とする電子機器。
