こうして、1molのNOに対して約490kJの発熱が発生する。それにより、NOX及びSOX保持部42近傍の排気ガスの空燃比がリッチにされる前のNOX及びSOX保持部42の温度TbとNOX及びSOX保持部42近傍の排気ガスの空燃比がリッチにされた後の最高温度Taとの間の温度上昇値ΔT(Ta−Tb)を温度センサ41により測定すれば、この温度上昇値ΔTに基づいてNOX及びSOX保持部42に保持されていたNOX保持量(mol)、すなわち、現在のNOX保持可能量を検出することができる。

Claims (1)
- 排気通路に配置されて排気ガス中のパティキュレートを捕集するためのパティキュレートフィルタであって、酸化触媒により排気ガス中の還元物質を燃焼させた際の燃焼熱を利用して再生処理が実施されるパティキュレートフィルタと、前記排気通路の前記パティキュレートフィルタの上流側に配置されて前記酸化触媒近傍を通過する排気ガス中の硫黄成分を検出する硫黄成分検出装置とを具備し、前記硫黄成分検出装置は、排気ガス中のSOX及びNOXを保持し、SOX保持量が増加するほどNOX保持可能量が減少する保持部を具備し、前記保持部に保持されたNOX保持量に基づき前記SOX保持量を推定するものであり、パティキュレートフィルタの再生処理が行われる時期における前記SOX保持量が設定値以上である時には前記SOX保持量が前記設定値より少ない時に比較して、パティキュレートフィルタの再生処理において前記酸化触媒により燃焼させる還元物質の量を増加させることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
