Description
図1は本発明に係る表示装置の第1の実施形態を示すブロック図である。本実施形態に係る表示装置は、表示領域として、発光素子である有機EL素子を含む画素回路(画素)13がマトリクス状に配置されている。情報線駆動回路11はマトリクス状に配置された画素回路13に情報線P0を介して情報信号である制御電流Idataを供給する。
次に、本発明の表示装置の第2の実施形態について説明する。第2の実施形態では、赤・緑・青それぞれ独立に点滅駆動制御を行う。図7は本実施形態の表示装置を示すブロック図である。

Claims (4)
- 発光素子を含む画素回路がマトリクス状に複数配置され、
複数の前記画素回路に接続される情報線と、
前記情報線に情報信号を供給する情報線駆動回路と、
前記情報線と交差する方向に配置され、複数の前記画素回路に接続される走査線と、
前記走査線に垂直同期信号を供給する走査線駆動回路と、
前記走査線と同じ方向に配置され、複数の前記画素回路に接続される点滅制御線と、
前記点滅制御線に前記発光素子の点滅を制御する点滅制御信号を供給する点滅制御線駆動回路と、
を有する表示装置において、
前記点滅制御線駆動回路は、
前記垂直同期信号と同じ周波数を有する第1の信号と、前記垂直同期信号の2倍以上の周波数を有する第2の信号との論理和信号を前記点滅制御信号として前記点滅制御線に供給し、前記発光素子を、前記第1信号に対応する第1の発光期間と、前記第2の信号に対応し前記第1の発光期間よりも短い第2の発光期間とで発光させることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記画素回路は、赤、緑、青のいずれかの色を発光する発光素子を含み、前記点滅制御線は、発光色ごとに設けられ、それぞれ同じ色を発光する発光素子を含む複数の画素回路に接続されており、
前記点滅制御線駆動回路は、前記第1の信号であるAR、AG、ABのそれぞれと、前記第2の信号であるBとを合成して得られる、発光色に応じた合成信号CRn、CGn、CBnを、前記点滅制御信号として発光色ごとに設けられた前記点滅制御線のそれぞれに供給し、且つ、前記第1の信号であるAR、AG、ABのそれぞれの立ち上がりタイミングと立ち下がりタイミングとの中心が揃っていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記第2の信号は前記垂直同期信号と同期していることを特徴とする請求項1または2のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記発光素子は、有機EL素子であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
