Description
バックライトを備えた液晶表示装置について、図1を使って説明する。図1はカラー画像を表示することができる表示装置の一断面を示す図である。
液晶パネル100は、マトリクス状に多数の画素電極が配置されたアレイ基板102と、アレイ基板102に対向する対向基板105と、アレイ基板102及び対向基板105との間に保持される液晶層101と、を備える。
非吸収型のカラーフィルタ(干渉フィルタ)は、各色のフィルタが透過しない色の光を筐体内に反射し光をリサイクルするので、吸収型のカラーフィルタを使用する場合に比べてバックライトの消費電力を低減できる。

Claims (2)
- 筐体と、
前記筐体内に設けられた光源と、
前記筐体の一主面上に設けられた干渉型のフィルタと、
を有し、
前記フィルタは周期的に並べられたN(Nは自然数)種類の膜を有し、
隣り合う前記膜同士は一部が重なるように設けられており、
前記膜は種類ごとに一定の波長範囲の光を透過し他の波長範囲の光を反射する膜であり、
前記膜のうち隣の前記膜と重ならない部分の面積の総和は、前記フィルタが設けられた一主面の面積に対して8×N%以上15×N%以下であるバックライト。 - 1対の基板と、前記1対の基板の間に保持された液晶層と、を有する液晶パネルと、
筐体と、前記筐体内に設けられた光源と、前記筐体の一主面上に設けられ、前記液晶パネルと対向する干渉型のフィルタと、を有するバックライトと、
を備え、
前記フィルタは周期的に並べられたN(Nは自然数)種類の膜を有し、

前記膜は種類ごとに一定の波長範囲の光を透過し他の波長範囲の光を反射する膜であり、
