Claims (28)
- 二酸化炭素とアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料との反応により対応するアルカリ金属炭酸塩又はアルカリ土類金属炭酸塩を形成する、二酸化炭素を固化するための方法であって、
燃料の燃焼により、放出された熱をアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料に直接かけ、アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を直接熱活性化して、活性化された原料を製造する工程、
活性化された原料を溶媒スラリー中に懸濁する工程、及び
活性化された原料を二酸化炭素と接触させて、二酸化炭素を転化してアルカリ金属炭酸塩又はアルカリ土類金属炭酸塩を形成する工程
を含む方法。 - 燃料の燃焼によるアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料の直接熱活性化が、炉又は窯から選択される加熱容器で起こる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 燃料の燃焼による直接熱活性化の前に、二酸化炭素と活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料との反応から放出された熱、及び/又は連結した炭素又は炭化水素燃料の燃焼、ガス化又は改質工程から生じた低級の若しくは廃熱を用いて、アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属原料が予熱される、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 原料の直接熱活性化が、前記原料の温度を580〜800℃の温度に上げて維持することにより行なわれる、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、その加熱中にアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を回転及び/又は攪拌できるように構成された加熱容器内で加熱され、脱水酸化及び活性化を助長する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、1個以上の実質的に垂直なチャンバを含む垂直軸構造の加熱容器内で加熱され、そしてアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、燃料の燃焼により生じたガスに対して向流で充填されて流れる、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、適切に構成された加熱容器内の燃料燃焼チャンバからの放射、伝導又は対流によって、燃料の燃焼ガスから隔離されて加熱される、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、パイプ又は容器中を、加熱容器を通して流体媒体によって輸送され、流体媒体がガス又は液体のいずれかである、請求項2に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が微粉砕されて、アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料の平均粒径を200μm未満に減らす、請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 直接熱活性化の前及び/又は後に、活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を、弱酸性水溶液又は混合水溶液及び/又は食塩水又は二酸化炭素と混和できる他の溶媒内に懸濁させる、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 溶媒が、水;酢酸、シュウ酸、アスコルビン酸、フタル酸、オルトリン酸、クエン酸、若しくはギ酸から選択される弱酸、又は前記弱酸の塩溶液;食塩水;食塩及び重炭酸ナトリウム水溶液;重炭酸カリウム溶液;エタノール若しくはメタノール水溶液などの水及びアルコール混合溶液;水及びグリコール混合溶液;並びに水及びグリセロール混合溶液の任意の1種以上から選択される、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、弱酸を含む水性溶媒流と混ぜられて、さらに直接熱活性化工程後に湿式粉砕工程で75μm未満の粒径に微粉砕される、請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を、超臨界の、液化された又は高圧の二酸化炭素ガスと接触させて、二酸化炭素をアルカリ金属炭酸塩又はアルカリ土類金属炭酸塩に実質的に転化する、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素及び活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を、高乱流又は高速分散又は磨砕条件を作れるように構成された反応容器内で接触させて、二酸化炭素をアルカリ金属炭酸塩又はアルカリ土類金属炭酸塩に速く及び実質的に転化する、請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素が、炭素燃料燃焼工程、炭化水素燃料燃焼工程、又は炭化水素ガス化工程若しくは改質工程からの排出物から生じる、請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素が、石炭、石油又は天然ガスを燃料とする発電による燃焼排出物から生じる、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素ガスが、アンモニア製造プラントから生じる、請求項1〜16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素ガスが、ポルトランド(Portland)セメント製造プラントから生じる、請求項1〜17のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素が、再生可能バイオマス由来の少なくとも20%の燃料の酸化から生じる、請求項1〜18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 燃料が、再生可能バイオマスから生じた少なくとも20%の燃料を含む、請求項1〜19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料が、蛇紋石若しくはその多形体、アンチゴライト、リザルダイト若しくはクリソタイル、かんらん石、苦土かんらん石、水滑石、ダナイト、かんらん岩、珪灰石、滑石、ハルツバージャイト、又はこれらの任意の2種以上の混合物を含む、請求項1〜20のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 次の炭酸塩中への固化を簡略化するために、酸素を多く含む流れを加えることにより燃料の燃焼を行なって、二酸化炭素及び水蒸気を発生させる、請求項1〜21のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- アルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を破砕器内で破砕し、そして連結した発電プラントによって作られた電気エネルギーを引き出す微粉砕回路のミル内で粉砕する、請求項1〜22のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素が希釈流であるか、又は大気から直接引かれている、請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素が、活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料を含む開放地、スラリーダム、ストックパイル若しくは類似の通気構造体又は堆積浸出配列の系内で、活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料と接触させられる、請求項24に記載の方法。
- スプレー、アトマイザー又はチャネルが、活性化された原料を含む開放地、スラリーダム、ストックパイル若しくは類似の通気構造体又は堆積浸出配列の系を通して水流を分配するのに使用される、請求項25に記載の方法。
- 二酸化炭素と活性化されたアルカリ金属ケイ酸塩原料又はアルカリ土類金属ケイ酸塩原料との反応により生成した炭酸塩が、系から定期的に除去される、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 酵素触媒を水流に加えて炭酸の形成を促進する、請求項26に記載の方法。
