Claims (11)
- 垂直配向の液晶パネルに階調遷移に基づくオーバードライブを行うことが可能な液晶パネル駆動装置であって、
検出された温度が閾値温度を超えれば、前回の入力階調と今回の入力階調との階調遷移に基づいてオーバードライブを行い、
検出された温度が閾値温度以下の低温であれば、該低温下では1回のオーバードライブでの応答条件が存在しないライズ型階調遷移に対して前回の応答による到達予測階調と今回の入力階調との階調遷移に基づいてオーバードライブを行い、かつ上記ライズ型階調遷移に階調GFから階調GRへの階調遷移と、階調Gfから階調Grへの階調遷移とが含まれるとともに、階調GFからは最大階調によるオーバードライブを行っても到達予測階調が階調GRを超えず、階調Gfからは最大階調によるオーバードライブを行っても到達予測階調が階調Grを超えず、かつ階調Gf<階調GFであって、階調GFから階調GRへの階調遷移について最大階調によるオーバードライブを行ったときよりも階調Gfから階調Grへの階調遷移について最大階調によるオーバードライブを行ったときの方が角応答が起こりやすい場合に、
階調GFから階調GRへの階調遷移については、上記最大階調によるオーバードライブを行う一方、
階調Gfから階調Grへの階調遷移については、上記最大階調よりも小さい階調によるオーバードライブを行うことを特徴とする液晶パネル駆動装置。 - 入力階調が階調Gfから階調Grに遷移した後、階調Grが連続する場合には、
上記最大階調より小さな階調から段階的に減少して階調Grに到る各階調によるオーバードライブを行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。 - 階調Gfが最小階調であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 第1および第2温度がともに上記低温であり、第1温度>第2温度である場合に、第1温度では、階調Gfから階調Grへの階調遷移について上記最大階調よりも小さい階調Ghによるオーバードライブを行う一方、第2温度では、階調Gfから階調Grへの階調遷移について上記階調Ghよりも小さい階調によるオーバードライブを行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 前回の応答による到達予測階調および今回の入力階調の組み合わせと今回の出力階調とが対応付けられた出力用ルックアップテーブルを備え、該出力用ルックアップテーブルを用いて上記オーバードライブを行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 上記閾値温度以下の複数の温度それぞれについて上記出力用ルックアップテーブルが設けられており、検出された温度に基づき、対応する出力用ルックアップテーブルを選択することを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 前回の応答による到達予測階調および今回の出力階調の組み合わせと今回の応答による到達予測階調とが対応付けられた予測用ルックアップテーブルを備えていることを特徴とする請求項5記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 上記閾値温度以下の複数の温度それぞれについて上記予測用ルックアップテーブルが設けられており、検出された温度に基づき、対応する予測用ルックアップテーブルを選択することを特徴とする請求項7記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 上記液晶パネルは配向分割方式であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の液晶パネル駆動装置。
- 液晶パネルと、請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の液晶パネル駆動装置とを備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
- 請求項10記載の液晶表示装置を備えることを特徴とする車載用表示装置。
