Description
外周部分を順次挿入し、容器20の上側末端を曲げることにより、形成される。その結果、折り曲げ区域50は、折り曲げ区域50の内側に配置されたガスケット60を取り囲む形状に形成される。キャップアセンブリー40は、折り曲げ及びプレス加工により、折り曲げ区域50に取り付けられる。
トップキャップ及び円筒形容器を、冷間圧延し、ニッケル(Ni)被覆した炭素鋼シート(SPCE)から製造し、電極アセンブリーを円筒形容器の中に取り付け、丸みを付ける加工を円筒形容器の電極アセンブリーの上側末端に対応する区域で行い、折り曲げ区域を形成し、ガスケットを折り曲げ区域の内側に挿入し、キャップアセンブリーを折り曲げ区域に取り付けた。続いて、折り曲げ区域を、折り曲げ区域の側壁が容器の側部から2度傾斜するように、図4に示す構造に緩やかに曲げた。また、折り曲げ区域の末端を内側に、折り曲げ区域の屈曲末端が容器の側部から70字傾斜するように屈曲させた。この時、折り曲げ区域の末端を、折り曲げ区域の屈曲末端の曲率半径が1.3 mmになるように屈曲させた。続いて、折り曲げ及び圧迫工程を行い、標準的な18650円筒形二次バッテリー(直径18 mmおよび長さ65 mmを有する)を製造した。折り曲げ区域の屈曲した前端部は、折り曲げ区域の側部から内側に約2.4 mm伸びていた。
折り曲げ区域の側壁傾斜が図5に示すように開始する以外は、例1と同様に円筒形二次バッテリーを製造した。
折り曲げ区域の側壁が容器の側部と角度0度を形成する以外は、例1と同様に円筒形二次バッテリーを製造した。
折り曲げ区域の側壁が容器の側部と角度9度を形成する以外は、例1と同様に円筒形二次バッテリーを製造した。
折り曲げ区域の末端を、折り曲げ区域の屈曲末端が容器の側部と角度90度を形成するように屈曲させた以外は、例1と同様に円筒形二次バッテリーを製造した。

衝撃実験を、例1及び例2に記載するようにして製造した10個のバッテリー、及び比較例1及び比較例2に記載するようにして製造した10個のバッテリーに対して、電圧4.2 Vで行った。衝撃実験では、電圧4.2 Vで充電したバッテリーを、木製床上に高さ1 mから、各バッテリーの最上部、底部、及び側部が木製床と衝突するように落下させ、電解質がバッテリーから漏れ出したか、否かを確認した。この時、バッテリーを、各バッテリーの最上部、底部、及び側部が木製床と、それぞれ30回衝突するように落下させた。
例1及び例2に記載するようにして製造した30個のバッテリー、及び比較例1〜比較例4に記載するようにして製造した30個のバッテリーを逆さにして配置し、15 Kgfの圧力を電池の中に作用させ、電解質がそれぞれのバッテリーから、電流遮断部材(屈曲安全部材)が作動する前に漏れるか、否かを確認した。結果を下記の表1に示す。
Claims (8)
- 円筒形二次バッテリーであって、
折り曲げ区域が、電極アセンブリーが内部に取り付けられている円筒形容器の開いた上側末端に形成され、前記折り曲げ区域でキャップアセンブリーが前記円筒形容器の開いた上側末端に取り付けられる構造に構築されてなり、
前記折り曲げ区域が、前記折り曲げ区域の内側に配置されたガスケットを取り囲むように、前記折り曲げ区域の上側末端が予め決められた曲率半径(R)で緩やかに屈曲し、屈曲した前端部が、前記折り曲げ区域の側壁から60〜85度の角度で屈曲し、かつ、前記屈曲した末端が前記ガスケットを圧迫するように伸び、前記折り曲げ区域の上側部分が内側に向くように、前記折り曲げ区域の前記側壁に予め決められた角度の傾斜が形成される構造に構築されてなる、円筒形二次バッテリー。 - 前記傾斜が、垂直部分で湾曲していない2〜3 mmの直線区域である、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記予め決められた角度が、前記容器の前記側壁から1〜8度である、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記予め決められた角度が、前記容器の前記側壁から1〜5度である、請求項3に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記傾斜が、前記側壁の中央から、前記側壁の全長の上側及び下側30%以内で開始する、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記屈曲した前端部が、前記折り曲げ区域の前記側部から2〜3 mmだけ伸びている、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記曲率半径(R)の値が0.3〜2 mmである、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
- 前記円筒形容器の厚さが0.15〜0.35 mmである、請求項1に記載の円筒形二次バッテリー。
