Description
図1は、本実施形態の光ファイバ10aの横断面及び屈折率分布を示す模式図である。
図2は、本実施形態の光ファイバ10bの横断面及び屈折率分布を示す模式図である。なお、以下の各実施形態において、図1と同じ部分については同じ符号を付して、その詳細な説明を省略する。
図3は、本実施形態の光ファイバ10cの縦断面である。
上記各実施形態では、フッ素やホウ素などの不純物がドープされた石英により構成されたクラッドを備えた光ファイバを例示したが、本発明は、複数の細孔が互いに平行に延びるように配列された石英により構成されたクラッドを備えた光ファイバにも適用することができる。

Claims (4)
- 横断面が長方形又は正方形の矩形状に形成された石英製のコアと、
上記コアを被覆するように横断面の外郭が円形状に形成され、該コアの屈折率よりも低い屈折率を有する石英製のクラッドと、
上記クラッドを被覆するように形成された石英製のサポート層とを備え、
上記コア及びサポート層は、石英単体の屈折率を有していることを特徴とする光ファイバ。 - 請求項1に記載された光ファイバにおいて、
上記サポートを被覆するように形成され、該サポート層の屈折率よりも高い屈折率を有する保護層を備えていることを特徴とする光ファイバ。 - 請求項1に記載された光ファイバにおいて、
一方のファイバ端部には、上記コアにレーザ光を入射させるための石英製の石英ロッドが設けられていることを特徴とする光ファイバ。 - 請求項1に記載された光ファイバにおいて、
上記クラッドには、フッ素及びホウ素の少なくとも一方がドープされていることを特徴とする光ファイバ。
