Description
ポリマー材料の造粒は、広範囲の材料タイプで特に成功していることが証明されており、急速冷却は形成されたペレットの少なくとも最外層を迅速に固化し、乾燥機又はさらなる処理部に伝搬させることができる。これらの処理には直ちに向かない品質をもつ多くの材料がある。これらの品質の例として、非常に狭い溶融範囲、低温溶融範囲、溶解又は半固形材料の低粘度、遅い熱伝導、及びそれによる処理に十分な急速冷却能力の遅さ、冷却時の層分離を受ける傾向、表面トラッグ、混合処理中の液体の不十分な混和性、混合/混和段階から押出/造粒段階への著しい温度変化である。典型的には前述の特性を有し、そのために造粒技術に向かない材料としては、例えば、ワックス、アスファルト、接着剤、ガムベース定型剤、高溶融流動ポリオレフィン、非ポリマー有機及び/又は無機材料である。したがって、特に水中造粒機を使用してペレットを形成するときに、これらの難しい材料及び用途を首尾よく造粒することができる装置及び方法の要求がある。
U型チューブ設計で静的ミキサーを備え又は備えていない熱交換器である。好ましくは、さらに材料を混合し、材料の大部分をチューブの壁と直接接触させるために、個々のチューブに静的混合羽根を備えたシェルアンドチューブ設計である。チューブの外側は、好ましくは当業者に理解されるような逆流パターンで、シェルハウジング内を循環するオイル又は水の冷却液の流れである。循環媒体の温度と流量は、図示しない制御装置により注意深く調整される。この装置は、混合機10内で調整された溶解物の温度を減少することができ、これにより、カッターによるダイ面の回りの巻き付きの可能性を減少し、ペレット外形を改良し、ペレット温度を低下し、ペレットの凝集及び集塊を減少して、ダイプレート65を通って溶解物を押し出すことができる。

Claims (27)
- 造粒処理ラインで造粒することが困難である材料を造粒する方法であって、主混合機(10)と押出機(400)で造粒する溶解物を形成する工程、押出ダイ(65)を有する造粒機(70)で前記溶解物をペレットに造粒する工程、及び乾燥機(80)で前記ペレットを乾燥する工程を有する方法において、
前記溶解物をペレットに造粒する工程の前であって、前記溶解物を前記造粒機の押出ダイに供給するときに、前記溶解物を冷却押出機(300)の上流に位置する溶解物冷却器(250,450)に入れて、前記冷却押出機(300)の前で溶解物を冷却し、
前記溶解物冷却器(250,450)に通した前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機(300)に入れ、
前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機(300)に通して、前記溶解物の分散的均一性を増加し、前記溶解物を押出造粒に適した温度までさらに冷却することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記造粒工程は、水中、熱面、ストランド、水リングの造粒機で実行することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記造粒工程は、水中造粒機で実行することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記造粒工程は、熱面造粒機で実行することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記造粒する溶解物を形成する工程は、前記溶解物が前記冷却押出機を通り、前記造粒機の押出ダイを通ることを保証するために、前記溶解物を濾過し、前記溶解物を十分に加圧することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶解物が前記冷却押出機を通過した後、前記造粒機の押出ダイに入る前に、前記溶解物をさらに加圧し、スクリーンチェンジャー(345)に通すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記造粒する溶解物を形成する工程は、前記溶解物を前記処理ラインからそらせるために、前記溶解物を切換弁(460,560)に通すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶解物を冷却押出機(300)に通す工程は、前記冷却押出機の1又は複数のサイドフィーダ(310)を介して熱的に敏感な成分を添加することを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記熱的に敏感な成分は、固体又は液体であり、レオロジー添加剤、混和剤、界面活性剤、発泡剤、触媒、抑制剤、酸化防止剤、鎖延長剤、核形成剤、香味料、芳香剤、着色剤、液化剤、化学スカベンジャー、又は造粒される材料に適した添加剤からなる群から選ばれることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機に通した後、前記造粒機の押出ダイに入る前に、前記温度の追加的調整と前記溶解物の最終混合のために、前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機の下流に位置する第2溶解物冷却器(550)に通すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記溶解物を前記溶解物冷却器に通した後、前記溶解物を剪断混合及び溶解のために第1押出機に通すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記冷却押出機は、シングル、ツイン、マルチスクリュ、又はリング押出機から選ばれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 造粒処理ラインで造粒することが困難である材料を造粒する装置であって、造粒する溶解物を成形するための混合機(10)、押出機(400)、押出ダイ(65)を有する造粒機(70)、乾燥要素、及び適切な配管、ポンプ(30,40,340,540)、フィルタ(35,45,345)を有する装置において、
前記装置は前記溶解物の温度を低下する溶解物冷却器(250,450)を有し、
冷却された前記溶解物は前記溶解物冷却器(250,450)を通って前記溶解物冷却器の下流の冷却押出機(300)に進み、冷却された前記溶解物は前記冷却押出機(300)に入り、
前記造粒機の押出ダイに導入する前に、前記冷却押出機が、前記溶解物を処理して前記溶解物の分散的均一性を増加し、前記溶解物を押出造粒に適した温度まで冷却することを特徴とする装置。 - 前記造粒機は、水中、熱面、ストランド、水リングの造粒機であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記造粒機は、水中造粒機であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。
- 前記造粒機は、熱面造粒機であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の装置。

- 前記処理ラインは、前記冷却押出機の後に、前記造粒機の押出ダイに入る前に、前記温度の追加的調整と前記溶解物の最終混合のための第2溶解物冷却器(550)を有することを特徴とする請求項23に記載の装置。
- 前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機に通した後、前記造粒機の押出ダイに入る前に、前記温度の追加的調整と前記溶解物の最終混合のために、前記溶解物を前記冷却押出機の下流に位置する第2溶解物冷却器(550)に通すことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の方法。
