前記画像表示素子の表示面同士で消光する条件で偏光板を前記表示面に配置したことを特徴とするものである。

Claims (11)
- 2以上の画像表示素子の表示面を組み合わせた画面に画像を表示する画像表示装置であって、
前記画像表示素子の表示面同士で消光する条件で偏光板を前記表示面に配置したことを特徴とする画像表示装置。 - 前記消光条件は、前記偏光板の偏光方向を直交させて、偏光板の取り付けられた表示面から入射する光を透過させ、かつ前記表示面以外から入射する光を吸収する条件に設定した請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記表示面のそれぞれに配置した前記偏光板上に、第1の1/4波長板と、空洞層と、第2の1/4波長板と、偏光板とを配置した請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記第の1/4波長板は、直線偏光を円偏光に変え、前記第2の1/4波長板は、円偏光を直線偏光に変えるものである請求項3に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記空洞層は、前記第1の1/4波長板と前記第2の1/4波長板との間を円偏光の向きを反転させる距離に保持するものである請求項3に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記表示面のそれぞれに前記第2の1/4波長板と組み合わせて配置した前記偏光板の偏光方向が直交する請求項3に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記2以上の画像表示素子は、視点に対する視差画像を空間的に分離してそれぞれの表示面に立体的な画像を表示する処理手段を有する請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記処理手段は、少なくとも2つの視点に対応する視差方向の映像を各画像表示素子の位置関係に応じた画像に変換して投射する請求項7に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記2以上の画像表示素子は、それぞれの表示面に2次元の画像を表示する処理手段を有する請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記組み合わされる画像表示素子として同一偏光方式のものを用い、その一方の画像表示素子の前面に1/2波長板を配置した請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
- 前記2以上の画像表示素子は、前記表示面を俯仰方向に配置して組み合わされている請求項1に記載の画像表示装置。
