Description
特定の用途のためには、たとえば液晶ディスプレイのバックライトに使用する場合などは、均質に発光する面放射体を発光デバイスとして組み込むのが望ましい。たとえば移動電話ここでは殊に折り畳み型携帯電話のような特定の製品において使用する場合、著しく狭い空間たとえば互いに「背中合わせ」に配置された2つの液晶ディスプレイを背後から照射することが必要になる。ここで説明したような発光デバイスは、2つのディスプレイを背後から照射するためにきわめて良好に適している。なぜならばこのようなディスプレイはそれぞれ異なる技術で実装されている可能性があるからであり、したがって第1の光出射側と第2の光出射側から送出される光が、背後から照射すべきディスプレイの特性にそれぞれ整合されていると有利である。
Claims (8)
- 発光デバイスにおいて、
第1の光出射側(1)と、
第2の光出射側(2)と、
有機積層体(3)と、
該有機積層体(3)に接している少なくとも1つの半透過性の電極(5,6)と、
が設けられており、
該有機積層体(3)は、前記第1の光出射側(1)と前記第2の光出射側(2)との間に配置されており、放射発生のために設けられた有機層(3a)を有しており、
発光デバイス動作中、前記第1の光出射側(1)と前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して、それぞれ異なる光特性をもつ光(21,22)が出射され、該光特性は、強度(I)、輝度、強度角度分布により表される放射特性、色のうち少なくとも1つの特性を含み、
前記第1の光出射側(1)を介して出射された光(21)は、前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して出射された光(22)とは色に関して異なり、
前記第1の光出射側(1)と前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して出射される光の色はそれぞれ、少なくとも1つの電極(5,6)と前記放射発生のために設けられた有機層(3a)との間隔(t)により、および/または前記電極(5,6)のうち少なくとも1つの電極の厚さ(D1)により調節されることを特徴とする、
発光デバイス。 - 前記第2の光出射側(2)から白色光が放出され、前記第1の光出射側(1)からカラー光が放出される、請求項1記載の発光デバイス。
- 前記第1の光出射側(1)を介して出射された光(21)は、前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して出射された光(22)とは強度(I)に関して異なる、請求項1または2記載の発光デバイス。
- 前記第1の光出射側(1)を介して出射された光(21)は、前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して出射された光(22)とは輝度に関して異なる、請求項1から3のいずれか1項記載の発光デバイス。
- 前記第1の光出射側(1)を介して出射された光(21)は、前記第2の光出射側(2)を介して出射された光(22)とは放射特性に関して異なる、請求項1から4のいずれか1項記載の発光デバイス。
- 前記放射発生のために設けられている有機層(3a)は、白色広帯域発光体を備えた有機層であり、該白色広帯域発光体において種々の色に対する励起子の崩壊ゾーンはそれぞれ異なる長さを有する、請求項1から5のいずれか1項記載の発光デバイス。
- 少なくとも1つの光出射側(1,2)には光を散乱させる材料(9)が含まれている、請求項1から6のいずれか1項記載の発光デバイス。
- 前記光出射側(1,2)の1つから出射される光(21,22)の放射特性は、前記有機積層体(3)において放射発生のために設けられている有機層(3a)と前記半透過性の電極(5,6)との間隔(t)に依存する、請求項1から7のいずれか1項記載の発光デバイス。
