Claims (4)
- コア層は、円形横断面の少なくともコア中心より所定半径の内周からクラッド層に内接する最外周までのドーナツ形状の領域が屈折率の異なる複数のポリマー材の領域が存在する構造であり、前記コア中心から離れるにしたがって全周の平均屈折率が連続的に減少し、かつ、前記コア中心から各距離それぞれの全周の屈折率が不連続な分布を示し、
前記全周の平均屈折率の分布は、その両端部において直線状または上向き凸状の放物線状に減少していることを特徴とするプラスチック光ファイバー。 - 請求項1に記載のプラスチック光ファイバーにおいて、
前記コア中心の部分のポリマー材より屈折率の小さなポリマー材の領域は、前記所定半径の内周位置から外周方向に前記クラッド層まで連続的に存在し、
前記クラッド層は、前記コア層の最も屈折率が小さいポリマー材と同じ屈折率またはそれより小さい屈折率であることを特徴とするプラスチック光ファイバー。 - 請求項1または2記載のプラスチックファイバーにおいて、
前記ドーナツ形状の領域において、前記クラッド層の内周に内接する円弧を有し該円弧の両端に接続される頂点が前記所定半径の内周上に配置される扇状を成す、前記コア中心の部分のポリマー材より屈折率の小さなポリマー材の領域が存在することを特徴とするプラスチック光ファイバー。 - 請求項3に記載のプラスチック光ファイバーにおいて、
前記扇状の領域の前記円弧の両端と前記頂点とは、それぞれ、当該領域の内側に湾曲する曲線により接続されていることを特徴とするプラスチック光ファイバー。
