Description
図1は、本発明の硬質被膜被覆工具の一例であるドリル10を示す図で、(a) は軸心Oと直角な方向から見た正面図、(b) は切れ刃12が設けられた先端側から見た拡大底面図である。このドリル10は、2枚刃のツイストドリルで、シャンク14およびボデー16を軸方向に一体に備えており、ボデー16には軸心Oの右まわりにねじれた一対の溝18が形成されている。ボデー16の先端には、溝18に対応して一対の切れ刃12が設けられており、シャンク14側から見て軸心Oの右まわりに回転駆動されることにより切れ刃12によって穴を切削加工するとともに、切屑が溝18を通ってシャンク14側へ排出される。

Claims (2)
- 切れ刃によって切削加工を行うとともに、該切れ刃を有する工具基材の表面に硬質被膜が設けられている硬質被膜被覆工具において、
前記硬質被膜は、
元素の周期表の IIIb族、IVa族、Va族、VIa族の金属およびSiの何れかの炭化物、窒化物、炭窒化物、或いはこれらの相互固溶体にて構成されており、前記工具基材の表面に設けられる化合物層と、
窒素含有量が3〜40at%の範囲内の窒化炭素にて構成されているとともに、単結合および2重結合の窒化炭素を共に含んでおり、外表面を構成するように最上層に設けられる窒化炭素層と、
を有し、且つ、該窒化炭素層のナノインデンテーション硬さが17.6〜55GPaの範囲内である一方、
前記硬質被膜の全体の平均膜厚Dは1.2〜20μmの範囲内で、前記窒化炭素層の厚さは0.2〜3μmの範囲内である
ことを特徴とする硬質被膜被覆工具。 - 前記硬質被膜は、前記化合物層の上に直接前記窒化炭素層が設けられた2層構造を成している
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の硬質被膜被覆工具。
