Claims (22)
- 第1基板と、
前記第1基板上に存在し、内部光を透過する透明電極と外部光を反射する反射電極とで構成された画素電極と、
前記反射電極及び透明電極のうち、いずれか1つの電極の上部に存在する位相差層と、
前記いずれか1つの電極の他方の電極の上部に存在する補完層と、
を含み、
前記反射電極が配置される反射領域及び前記透明電極が配置される透過領域におけるセルギャップは同一である半透過型表示装置。 - 前記位相差層は、入射する線形偏光を円偏光または楕円偏光に位相変化させることを特徴とする請求項1記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記位相差層は、入射する光の一軸成分を他軸成分に比べて1/10波長から1/2波長の間で選択されたいずれか1つの波長分だけ位相変化させることを特徴とする請求項1記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記位相差層は、入射する光の一軸成分を他軸成分に比べて1/4波長分だけ変化させることを特徴とする請求項3記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記位相差層が前記反射電極及び透明電極のうちいずれか1つの上部に存在する場合、前記位相差層による段差を除去するための絶縁膜をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記位相差層と前記画素電極との間に誘導層をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 第1基板と、前記第1基板上に存在し内部光を透過する透明電極及び外部光を反射する反射電極で構成された画素電極とを含む第1パネルと、
前記第1基板と対向して一定の間隔で離間した位置に配置される第2基板と、前記第2基板上に存在する共通電極とを含む第2パネルと、
前記画素電極と共通電極との間に介在する液晶層と、
前記反射電極及び透明電極のうち少なくとも1つの電極の上部に存在する下側位相差層と、
前記いずれか1つの電極の他方の電極の上部に存在する補完層と、
を含み、
前記反射電極が配置される反射領域及び前記透明電極が配置される透過領域におけるセルギャップは同一である半透過型表示装置。 - 前記液晶層は、45°から90°の間で選択されるいずれか1つの角度分だけ線形波形を回転するツイストネマティックモードであることを特徴とする請求項7記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記下側位相差層は前記反射電極上部に存在することを特徴とする請求項8記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記液晶層は入射する光の一軸成分を他軸成分に比べて1/4波長分だけ変化させる垂直配向モード(VAmode)であることを特徴とする請求項7記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記下側位相差層は、前記透明電極上部に存在し、前記第2パネルは上側位相差層をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項10記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記上側位相差層と前記第2パネルとの間に誘導層をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項11記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記上側位相差層は、前記共通電極上に位置することを特徴とする請求項11記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記上側位相差層は前記共通電極が形成された領域の反対側第2基板上に位置することを特徴とする請求項11記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記上側位相差層は、入射する線形偏光を円偏光または楕円偏光に位相変化することを特徴とする請求項11記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記上側位相差層は、入射する光の一軸成分を他軸成分に比べて1/10波長から1/2波長の間で選択されたいずれか1つの波長分だけ位相変化させることを特徴とする請求項11記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記下側位相差層の位相変化軸と前記上側位相差層の位相変化軸が同一の方向であることを特徴とする請求項16記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 前記下側位相差層及び上側位相差層の位相変化軸方向は前記液晶層の位相変化軸方向と90°の関係であることを特徴とする請求項17記載の半透過型表示装置。
- 第1パネルを形成する段階と、
第2パネルを形成する段階と、
前記第1パネルと前記第2パネルの間に液晶層を形成する段階と、
を含み、
前記第1パネルを形成する段階は、
第1基板上に内部光を透過する透明電極と外部光を反射する反射電極とで構成される画素電極を形成する段階と、
前記反射電極及び透明電極のうち、少なくともいずれか1つの電極の上部に位相差層を形成する段階と、
前記いずれか1つの電極の他方の電極の上部に存在する補完層を形成する段階と、
を含み、
前記反射電極が配置される反射領域及び前記透明電極が配置される透過領域におけるセルギャップは同一である半透過型表示装置の形成方法。 - 前記位相差層を形成する段階は、
画素電極上に誘導層を形成する段階と、
前記反射電極上部に形成された誘導層または前記透過電極上部に形成された誘導層の表面特性を変化させる段階と、
前記誘導層上に光学的異方性物質を形成する段階と、
前記誘導層の表面特性に従って前記光学的異方性物質を整列させながら硬化させる段階と、
を含む請求項19記載の半透過型表示装置の形成方法。 - 前記反射電極上部に形成された誘導層または前記透過電極上部に形成された誘導層の表面特性を変化させる段階は、
前記誘導層上部にマスクを位置させる段階と、
前記マスクを通じて表面特性を変化させようとする誘導層表面に波長が400nm以下である電磁気波を照射する段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項20記載の半透過型表示装置の形成方法。 - 前記反射電極上部に形成された誘導層または前記透過電極上部に形成された誘導層の表面特性を変化させる段階は、
前記誘導層上部にマスクを位置させる段階と、
前記マスクを通じて表面特性を変化しようとする誘導層表面に加速された粒子またはイオンを衝突させる段階と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項20記載の半透過型表示装置の形成方法。
