Claims (10)
- 反射領域と透過領域とを有する半透過型液晶表示装置において、
前記反射領域では液晶を縦方向電界モードで駆動し、前記透過領域では液晶を横方向電界モードで駆動し、前記反射領域の液晶層よりも光入射側にλ/4位相差板を有し、液晶を挟み込む一対の偏光板のうちの対向側の偏光板の透過軸と液晶層の長軸とを平行又は直交に配置し、
前記透過領域で液晶を駆動するくし歯電極の延在方向が、前記反射領域と前記透過領域との境界とほぼ平行であり、
前記反射領域と前記透過領域との境界付近に、前記透過領域の画素電極が配置され、
前記反射領域と前記透過領域との境界では、前記透過領域の画素電極と、前記反射領域の対向電極とがオーバーラップしないことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記λ/4位相差板の光学軸と前記偏光板の透過軸とがなす角度が、45°又は135°であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射領域の対向電極及び共通電極と、前記透過領域の共通電極とが、互いに反転した信号により駆動されることを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記透過領域の共通電極に第1の共通電極信号を供給する第1の周辺共通電極信号配線、及び、前記反射領域の共通電極に第2の共通電極信号を供給する第2の周辺共通電極信号配線が、表示部の周囲に形成されており、前記第1の周辺共通電極信号配線が、前記第2の周辺共通電極信号配線よりも表示部に対して内周側に形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射領域の画素電極と、前記透過領域の画素電極とが、別個のスイッチング手段に接続されており、前記反射領域の共通電極と、前記透過領域の共通電極とが別個に設けられることを特徴とする、請求項3又は4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射領域の画素電極及び前記透過領域の画素電極と、前記反射領域の対向電極及び共通電極と、前記透過領域の共通電極とが、ゲートライン反転で駆動される、請求項1〜5の何れか一に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 各画素がドット反転駆動で駆動されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5の何れか一に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射領域の画素電極及び前記透過領域の画素電極がゲートライン反転で駆動され、前記反射領域の対向電極及び共通電極と、前記透過領域の共通電極とがフレーム反転で駆動されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5の何れか一に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記反射領域の共通電極に供給する共通電極信号、及び、前記透過領域の共通電極に供給する共通電極信号のそれぞれの信号振幅、及び、信号振幅中央値が独立に調整されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜8の何れか一に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 請求項1〜9の何れか一に記載の液晶表示装置を備えることを特徴とする端末装置。
