Claims (21)
- 微小電気機械システム(MEMS)表示要素のアレイに表示データのフレームを書き込む方法であって:
画像を表示するために前記MEMS表示要素に表示データを書き込む過程と;
MEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第1組の列又は行に第1連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加する過程と;
MEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第2組の列又は行に第2連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加する過程と;を具備し、
前記第1組の列又は行は、隣接の列又は行が、前記第1連の印加及び前記第2連の印加の間に対向する極性のバイアス電圧を受けるように、前記第2組の列又は行で交互配置され、また第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、前記第1及び第2組の列又は行の作動要素は、作動されたままであり、前記第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、前記第1及び第2組の列又は行の非作動要素は、作動されないままであることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記第1及び第2組は、それぞれ複数の列又は行を具備し、前記第1及び第2組は、相互排他的であり、各組は、列及び行の両方ではなく列又は行のどちらか一方を具備し、第1及び第2組の列又は行は、ABAB又はABBAパターンにおいて配列され、Aは、第1組の列又は行に対応し、Bは、第2組の列又は行に対応することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- MEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第3組の列又は行に第3連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加する過程と;
MEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第4組の列又は行に第4連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加する過程と;
をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 第1及び第2連は、第1及び第2組の列に印加され、第3及び第4連は、第3及び第4組の行に印加されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 表示画像は、第1及び第2連が印加される間に維持されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 各要素は、第1及び第2連の印加に応じて、第1の光変調特性を有することから第2の光変調特性を有することへ変わることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第1及び第2の光変調特性は、僅かに異なることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第1及び第2連の電圧は、実質的に同時に印加されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- バイアス電圧は、要素の帯電を最小にすることを特徴とする請求項1から8のうち何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 表示装置であって:
微小電気機械システム(MEMS)表示要素のアレイと;
画像を表示するためにアレイの行及び列に信号を供給するように、アレイに対する第1組の列又は行に第1連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するように、及び第2組の列又は行に第2連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するように設定されるディスプレイドライバと;を具備し、
前記第1組の列又は行は、隣接の列又は行が、前記第1連の印加及び前記第2連の印加の間に対向する極性のバイアス電圧を受けるように、前記第2組の列又は行で交互配置され、また第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、前記第1及び第2組の列及び行の作動要素が作動されたままであり、前記第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、前記第1及び第2組の列及び行の非作動要素が作動されないままであることを特徴とする装置。 - ドライバは、MEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第3組の列又は行に第3連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するように、及びMEMS表示要素のアレイに対する第4組の列又は行に第4連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するようにさらに設定されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 第1及び第2連は、第1及び第2組の列に印加され、第3及び第4連は、第3及び第4組の行に印加されることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記第1及び第2連の電圧は、実質的に同時に印加されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の装置。
- 各要素は、第1及び第2連の印加に応じて、第1の光変調特性を有することから第2の光変調特性を有することへ変わるよう設定されることを特徴とする請求項10から13のうち何れか1項に記載の装置。
- 表示装置であって:
画像を表示するための手段と;
画像を表示するために表示手段の行及び列に信号を供給するための手段と;
表示手段の第1組の部分に第1連の交互極性又は異なる振幅のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段と;
表示手段の第2組の部分に第2連の交互極性又は異なる振幅のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段と;を具備し、
前記第1組の部分は、表示手段の隣接部分が、前記第1連の印加及び前記第2連の印加の間に対向する極性又は異なる振幅のバイアス電圧を受けるように、前記第2組の部分で交互配置され、また表示手段は、第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、表示手段の作動部分が作動されたままであり、前記第1及び第2連の両方が印加される間、表示手段の非作動部分が作動されないままであるよう設定されることを特徴とする装置。 - 表示手段は、微小電気機械システム(MEMS)表示要素のアレイを具備し、供給手段は、ディスプレイドライバを具備し、第1連のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段は、ディスプレイドライバを具備し、又は第2連のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段は、ディスプレイドライバを具備することを特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。
- 表示手段は、MEMS表示要素のアレイを具備し、各MEMS表示要素は、複数の行電極のうち一つと、複数の列電極のうち一つとを具備することを特徴とする請求項16に記載の装置。
- 表示手段の隣接部分は、対向する極性のバイアス電圧を受けることを特徴とする請求項15から17のうち何れか1項に記載の装置。
- 表示手段の第3組の部分に第3連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段と、
表示手段の第4組の部分に第4連の交互極性のバイアス電圧を印加するための手段とをさらに具備することを特徴とする請求項18に記載の装置。 - 第1組の部分は、表示手段の第1組の列を具備し、第2組の部分は、表示手段の第2組の列を具備し、第3組の部分は、表示手段の第3組の行を具備し、第4組の部分は、表示手段の第4組の行を具備することを特徴とする請求項19に記載の装置。
- 表示手段の各部分は、第1及び第2連の印加に応じて、第1の光変調特性を有することから第2の光変調特性を有することへ変わるように設定されることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の装置。
