Description
本願は、2004年5月11日付米国特許出願第10/843,113号の一部継続出願である。尚、該米国特許出願第10/843,113号の全内容は本願に援用する。
第一の孔形式は、比較的滑らかな、ねじ山が設けられていない孔(無ねじ山孔)であり、該孔を通して、滑らかな(無ねじ山)ヘッドをもつねじが挿入される。これらのねじは骨板をロックすることがなく、従って「非ロック」ねじと呼ばれている。非ロックねじは骨板をロックしないので、骨板に対する固定角が制限されないどころか、非常に多くの角度で挿入できる。無ねじ山の骨板孔を通して非ロックねじを挿入しかつ骨内にねじ込むことにより、骨折端部に所望の圧迫を加えることができる。
従って、骨板の孔が、骨板の強度低下を最小に留めて、外科医の選択により、最適圧迫が得られる非ロックねじまたは最適安定性が得られるロックねじのいずれかを受入れることができることが有利である。
骨板の他の実施形態では、骨板は長手方向軸線を有しかつ真直である。一実施形態では、骨板には同軸状組合せ孔のみを設け、かつ全ての孔を骨板の長手方向軸線に沿って配置することができる。
種々の実施形態において、骨板の上面および下面は平らでも湾曲していてもよい。好ましい実施形態では、骨板の上面を凸状とし、一方下面は凹状にする。
以下、本発明の好ましい実施形態を参照して本発明を説明する。当業者ならば、本発明の範囲を逸脱することなく種々の変更をなし得ることは理解されよう。従って、添付図面は特許請求の範囲によってのみ定められる本発明の範囲を限定するものではないことを理解すべきである。
好ましい実施形態では、好ましくは骨板10の中央部近くに少なくとも1つの孔99を設けることができる。孔99は、骨板10を骨の上に配置する補助(例えば、ガイドワイヤに使用するためのもの)をなし、或いは縫合糸孔として設けられる。
一般に、全ての実施形態について、少数(例えば4個)の孔を備えた短い骨板は、骨折が比較的小さい場合、または手術すべき患者の骨または関節(例えば恥骨結合)が比較的小さい場合に使用される。

Claims (17)
- 上面と、
下面と、
少なくとも1つの第一孔を有し、該孔は上面および下面を貫通して延びており、少なくとも前記第一孔は中心軸線および前記上面に直交して骨板を抜けて延びた直交軸線を規定し、少なくとも前記第一孔は前記中心軸線に沿って互いに分離した少なくとも三つの領域を備え、少なくとも前記第一孔の前記上面及び前記下面に隣接する第一領域及び第三領域はねじ山が設けられておらず、前記第一領域と第三領域の間の第二領域はねじ山が設けられて、前記中心軸線に沿って挿入される骨ファスナーを緊締し、
前記第一領域は、前記上面から前記下面に向かって前記中心軸線の周りで内方にテーパし、
前記第二領域は、前記上面から前記下面に向かって円錐状に内方にテーパしていることを特徴とする骨板。 - 前記第一領域および第二領域は互いに連通していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 前記第一領域の前記下面に最も近い位置は、前記第二領域の前記上面に最も近い位置に当接していることを特徴とする請求項2記載の骨板。
- 前記第二領域は、前記上面から前記下面に向かって5°と15°の間の円錐角で円錐状にかつ内方にテーパしていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 前記第三領域の外方へのテーパは、40°と50°の間の円錐角で円錐状であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 少なくとも前記第一孔とは異なる少なくとも1つの第二孔を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 前記第二孔は、前記上面を含む平面と平行な方向に細長くかつ上面および下面を貫通して延びていることを特徴とする請求項6記載の骨板。
- 前記第二孔にねじ山が設けられておらず、第二孔は外周を有し、該外周の少なくとも一部は、骨板の上面から下面に向かって内方にテーパし、挿入される結合ファスナーと係合する少なくとも1つのランプ面を形成していることを特徴とする請求項7記載の骨板。
- 前記第二孔は中心点を有し、第二孔はねじ山付き部分および無ねじ山部分を有し、ねじ山付き部分は、中心点に関して約190°と280°との間の角度に亘って延びていることを特徴とする請求項7記載の骨板。
- 第一端部の第一湾曲部分、第二端部の第二湾曲部分、これらの間の真直部分を有していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 前記真直部分において互いに隣接した2つの第二孔を有していることを特徴とする請求項10記載の骨板。
- 複数の第一孔を有し、前記第一孔の第一のものが第一湾曲部分に配置され、前記第一孔の第二のものが第二湾曲部分に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項11記載の骨板。
- 前記第一孔の第一にものと前記第二孔の第一にものは、第一湾曲部分上で12°から18°分離していることを特徴とする請求項12記載の骨板。
- 少なくとも1つの前記第一孔の前記中心軸線は、少なくとも1つの前記第一孔の垂直軸線に対して平行でないことを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
- 前記中心軸線と前記垂直軸線との間の交差角は、4°と10°との間にあることを特徴とする請求項14記載の骨板。
- 前記孔の中心軸線と前記垂直軸線との間の交差角は、13°と17°との間にあることを特徴とする請求項14記載の骨板。
- 前記骨板は複数の第一孔を有し、前記第一孔の第一のものの中心軸線は該第一孔の垂直軸線に対して平行ではなく、第一角度を形成しており、前記第一孔の第二のものの中心軸線は該第一孔の第二のものの垂直軸線に対して平行ではなく、第ニ孔の垂直軸線に対し前記第一角度とは異なる第二角度を形成していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の骨板。
