Description
本発明の課題は、とても広範囲の等級の多数の様々な分子量を有するポリスチレンを使用して、発泡性ポリスチレンを加工し発泡性ポリスチレンビーズにすることである。本発明の他の課題は、広い適用特性を有するポリスチレンの製造を含む。
・13〜19の範囲内にあるポリマーメルト流Gpと発泡剤流GEAの質量比または質量流量
・次の式に従って計算された、完全な剪断混合を伴う第一のスタティックミキサー中の温度:
GEAmaxは、最大の可能な発泡剤の流量であり、及び
GEAcurrentは、使用した発泡剤の流量を示す]。
本発明によれば、この場合、ポリマーメルトのメルトフローインデックス(MFI)とその質量平均分子量(Mw)との比率は、(0.8〜12.0)×10-5の範囲内に維持すべきである。
下記は、本発明による方法の実施態様の実施例の説明である。しかしながら、本方法は、それら実施例の実施態様だけに制限されることはない。
MFI/Mw比率0.8・10-5(MFI=3.0g/10分、Mw=375000)を有する汎用ポリスチレンの熱溶融液を、温度210℃及びGp=1330kg/時間である供給速度の下で、インラインで複数の段階で配置されたスタティックミキサーのカスケード中に供給する。同時に、発泡剤流を、GEA=70kg/時間である供給速度で同一のカスケード中に供給し、そして0.1質量%の量のタルクを装填する。EAとしてペンタンが使用される。Gp/GEA比率は、19.0に等しく、かつそのカスケードの最大の可能な発泡剤流量GEAmaxは、GEAmax=98kg/時間である。
第二の混合機及び第三の混合機中では、温度を次の水準で保つ:

実験は、実施例1中に記載されるものと同様であった。しかしながら、MFI/Mw=1.93・10-5(MFI=5.6g/10分、Mw=290000)の比率を有するポリスチレンを使用した。
実験は、実施例2と同様の方法で実施したが、しかし、MFI/Mw=2.96・10-5(MFI=7.4g/10分、Mw=250000)の比率を選択した。さらに、Gp/GEAの比率を、14.4で保った。最終EPS中のペンタン含有量は、6.5質量%の量であった。
実験は、実施例2と同様の方法で実施し、その際、該発泡剤は、7:3の比率におけるペンタンとイソペンタンの化合物であることを選択した。さらに、MFI/Mw=4.49・10-5(MFI=9.2g/10分、Mw=205000)の比率を有するポリスチレンを使用した。Gp/GEA=13.4の比率を保った。ポリマーフィラメントを、0.9〜1.4mmの直径を有する紡糸孔を有する押出ノズルを通して押出した。得られた生成物は、6.9質量%の量の発泡剤を含有する。2回の予備発泡は、加工する場合に許容される。
実験は、実施例2と同様の方法で実施したが、しかし、MFI/Mw=6.82・10-5(MFI=12.0g/10分、Mw=176000)の比率を有する汎用ポリスチレンを使用した。Gp/GEA=15.1の比率を保った。ポリマーフィラメントを、0.9〜1.4mmの直径を有する紡糸孔を有する押出ノズルを通して押出した。得られた生成物は、6.2質量%の量の発泡剤を含有する。
実験は、実施例4と同様の方法で実施したが、しかし、MFI/Mw=12.0・10-5(MFI=18.0g/10分、Mw=150000)の比率を有するポリスチレンを使用し、Gp/GEA=13.3の比率を保った。得られた生成物は、7.0質量%の量の発泡剤を含有する。
実験は、実施例4と同様の方法で実施したが、しかし、MFI/Mw=8.75・10-5(MFI=14.0g/10分、Mw=160000)の比率を有するポリスチレンを使用した。Gp/GEA=14.4の比率を保った。得られた生成物は、6.5質量%の量の発泡剤を含有する。
実験は、実施例2と同様の方法で実施したが、しかし、ブタジエンゴム分6.5質量%を有する耐衝撃ポリスチレンを利用した。ポリスチレンマトリックスのMwは、260000である。ポリマーのMFIは、5.8g/10分に達する。MFI/Mwの比率は、MFI/Mw=2.23・10-5に達する。Gp/GEA=14.4の比率を、維持する。得られた生成物は、6.5質量%の量の発泡剤を含有する。
Claims (4)
- ポリマーメルト流と発泡剤流とを混合帯域に供給し、該ポリマーメルト中に発泡剤を、同時に剪断混合をしつつ第一のスタティックミキサー中で分散させ、その得られた混合物を第二のスタティックミキサー中で同時に剪断混合をしつつ保持し、該混合物を第三のスタティックミキサー中で同時に混合しつつ中間温度にまで冷却し、引き続き該混合物を造粒に必要とされる温度にまで冷却させ、そして最後にポリマーフィラメントをそれらの衝撃冷却で押出し、造粒物を得ることによる、発泡性ポリスチレンビーズの製造方法において、
メルト流Gpと発泡剤流GEAとの間の質量比を、13〜19の範囲内に維持することと、
第一のスタティックミキサー中の温度が、200〜216℃であり、
第二のスタティックミキサー中の温度が、175〜195℃であり、
第三のスタティックミキサー中の温度が、150〜175℃であることを特徴とし、その際、ポリマーメルトのメルトフローインデックス(MFI)とその質量平均分子量(Mw)との比率が、(0.8〜12.0)×10-5の範囲内に保たれるべきである、発泡性ポリスチレンビーズの製造方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、ホモポリスチレンを、スチレンポリマーとして使用することを特徴とする方法。
