Description
本発明の発光装置の一態様について図1を用いて以下に説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の発光装置に用いることができるピラジン系有機金属錯体の構造について、具体的に例示する。
本発明によって作製された発光装置の断面図の一態様について、図9を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態に係る発光装置の外観の一態様について、図8を用いて説明する。なお、図8(A)は、発光装置を示す上面図、図8(B)は図8(A)をA−A’およびB−B’で切断した断面図である。点線で示された601は駆動回路部(ソース側駆動回路)、602は画素部、603は駆動回路部(ゲート側駆動回路)である。また、604は封止基板、605はシール材であり、シール材605で囲まれた内側は、空間607になっている。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1〜実施の形態4で示した発光装置が有する画素回路、保護回路及びそれらの動作について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1〜実施の形態5に示す発光装置をその一部に含む本発明の電子機器について説明する。本発明の電子機器は、実施の形態1で示した発光素子を有し、寿命の長い表示部を有する。
まず、ガラス基板2100B上に、酸化珪素を含む酸化インジウム−酸化スズをスパッタリング法にて成膜し、第1の電極2101Bを形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
まず、ガラス基板2100G上に、酸化珪素を含む酸化インジウム−酸化スズをスパッタリング法にて成膜し、第1の電極2101Gを形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。
まず、ガラス基板2100R上に、酸化珪素を含む酸化インジウム−酸化スズをスパッタリング法にて成膜し、第1の電極2101Rを形成した。なお、その膜厚は110nmとし、電極面積は2mm×2mmとした。

Claims (16)
- 互いに発光色が異なる第1の発光素子、第2の発光素子及び第3の発光素子を少なくとも有し、
前記第1の発光素子は、
第1の陽極と第1の陰極との間に、第1の発光層と第2の発光層とを有し、
前記第1の発光層は、第1の発光物質と、第1の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第2の発光層は、第1の発光物質と、第2の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第1の発光層は、前記第2の発光層の前記第1の陽極側に接して設けられ、
前記第1の有機化合物は正孔輸送性の有機化合物であり、
前記第2の有機化合物は電子輸送性の有機化合物であり、
前記第1の有機化合物および前記第2の有機化合物は、3環以上6環以下の縮合芳香族化合物であり、
前記第2の発光素子は、
第2の陽極と第2の陰極の間に、第3の発光層とキャリアの移動を制御する層とを有し、
前記第3の発光層は、第2の発光物質を有し、
前記キャリアの移動を制御する層は、前記第3の発光層に接して設けられ、
前記キャリアの移動を制御する層は、第3の有機化合物と、第4の有機化合物とを有し、
前記キャリアの移動を制御する層は、前記第3の発光層と前記第2の陰極の間に設けられており、
前記第3の有機化合物は、電子輸送性の有機化合物であり、
前記第4の有機化合物は、電子トラップ性の有機化合物であり、
前記第4の有機化合物は前記第3の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位より0.3eV以上低い最低空軌道準位を有し、
前記キャリアの移動を制御する層において、前記第4の有機化合物よりも前記第3の有機化合物が多く含まれており、
前記第3の発光素子は、
第3の陽極と第3の陰極との間に、第4の発光層を有し、
前記第4の発光層は、第5の有機化合物と、第6の有機化合物と、第3の発光物質とを含み、
前記第5の有機化合物は正孔輸送性の有機化合物であり、
前記第6の有機化合物は電子輸送性の有機化合物であり、
前記第3の発光物質は、燐光を発光する有機金属錯体であり、
前記有機金属錯体の配位子はピラジン骨格を有する配位子であり、前記有機金属錯体の中心金属は第9族または第10族元素である、
ことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記中心金属がイリジウムまたは白金であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
前記第5の有機化合物は芳香族アミン化合物またはカルバゾール誘導体であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、
前記第6の有機化合物は複素芳香族化合物または金属錯体であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一項において、
前記第2の発光物質と前記第4の有機化合物とは異なる有機化合物であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、
前記第3の有機化合物は、金属錯体であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか一項において、
前記第4の有機化合物は、クマリン誘導体であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項において、
前記第4の有機化合物のエネルギーギャップは前記第2の発光物質のエネルギーギャップよりも大きいことを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項7のいずれか一項において、
前記第4の有機化合物のエネルギーギャップが3.0eV以上であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項9のいずれか一項において、
前記第3の発光層は電子輸送性であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項10のいずれか一項において、
前記第3の発光層は、前記第2の発光物質と第7の有機化合物とを有し、
前記第7の有機化合物は、前記第2の発光物質よりも多く含まれており、
前記第7の有機化合物は電子輸送性であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか一項において、
前記キャリアの移動を制御する層の膜厚は、5nm以上20nm以下であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項12のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の有機化合物の最高被占軌道準位(HOMO準位)は−6.0eV以上−5.0eV以下であり、最低空軌道準位(LUMO準位)は、−3.0eV以上−2.0eV以下であり、
前記第2の有機化合物の最高被占軌道準位(HOMO準位)は−6.0eV以上−5.0eV以下であり、最低空軌道準位(LUMO準位)は、−3.0eV以上−2.0eV以下であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項13のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の有機化合物の最高被占軌道準位と前記第2の有機化合物の最高被占軌道準位との差が0.3eV以下であり、
前記第1の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位と前記第2の有機化合物の最低空軌道準位との差が0.3eV以下であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項14のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の発光素子は青色発光素子であり、
前記第2の発光素子は緑色発光素子であり、
前記第3の発光素子は赤色発光素子であることを特徴とする発光装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項15のいずれか一項に記載の発光装置を有する電子機器。
